When Specified (see 6,2), a sample shall be subjected to first article inspection (see 6.3) in accordance with 4.3. 3,2 Standard sample, The cover shall match
16、 the standard sample for shade and appearance and shall be equal to or better than the standard sample with respect to all characteristics for which the standard sample is referenced (see 6.4). 3.3 Material. It is encouraged that recycled material be used when practical as long as it meets the requi
17、rements of this specification. 3.3.1 Base cloth. The base cloth shall be a plain woven fabric of yarn specified in 3.3.2. The yarn shall be either 8 by 8 per inch or 10 by 10 per inch in the warp and filling directions. The weight of the base cloth shall be 3.0 f 0.5 ounces per square yard. 33.2 m.
18、The yarn for the warp and filling of the fabric shall be slit film ribbons of high density polyethylene polymer, 900 2 50 denier, suitably compounded, oriented, and heat stabilized to meet the requirements of the laminated cloth (see table I). 3.3.3 Coating compound. The coating compound shall be a
19、low density polyethylene coating, suitably compounded and pigmented such that the finished, coated and laminated cloth conforms to the requirements of table I. 3.3.4 Cloth, coated. The base cloth specified in 3.3.1 shall be coated on each side with 1.5 - + 0.25 mil thickness of coating compound spec
20、ified in 3.3.3. 3.3.5 Film, laminated. The laminated film shall be 2 2 0.25 mils thick (see 6.10), and be suitably compounded such that the finished coated and laminated cloth conforms to the- requirements of table I. 3.4 Cloth, coated and laminated. The coated and laminated cloth shall be construct

The color of the finished
26、cover shall match the standard sample (see 6.4) when viewed under filtered tungsten lamps that approximate artificial daylight and that have a correlated color temperature of 7500 + 200 K, with illumination of 100 + 20 foot candles. The color shall be a good- match to the standard sampleunder incand
27、escent lamplight at 2300 1: 200 K. 3.6 Spectral reflectance. 3.6.1 Camouflage Green 483. When Camouflage Green 483 is specified, the spectral reflectance values for visible/near infrared wavelengths of the finished cloth shall meet the values specified in table II, when tested as specified in 4.4.4

The overall width of the cover, after selvage trimming, shall be not
31、 less than 12 feet (see 3.12). The cover shall be constructed to form the specified width using a maximum of three seams. 3.7.2 Size 2. The overall width of the cover, after selvage trimming, shall be not less than 20 feet (see 3.12). The cover shall be constructed to form the specified width using
32、a maximum of five seams. 3.8 - Seams, All seams shall be extrusion sealed. The cloth shall overlap 1 2 1/4 inch. contained in the extrusion seal shall be 1 to 2 mils in thickness. The extrusion seal shall be 1 2 1/4 inch in width. Material 3.9 Splicing. No splicing shall be allowed in the lengthwise
33、 direction on either size of cover in not more than 10 percent of an order. No roll shall contain more than one splice. The splice length shall be not less than 20 feet. 3.10 Marking. All edges in the length direction shall be marked with a brightly colored, removable tape every 39.3 inches. The tap
34、e shall be at least 6 2 1/2 inches long and 3/4 inch wide. perpendicular to the lengthwise edge of the cover. The tape shall be placed 3.11 Warning tag. A warning tag shall be attached to the edge of the roll with not finer than 5-ply cotton string doubled to not less than 8 2 1/2 inches long. paper

The warning tag shall have a reinforced eyelet for attaching the tying cord and shall be legibly printed with water insoluble ink with the inform

37、 f. 3.12 Length. For government procurements only, the cover shall be put up in full width rolls as specified in 5.1.1 and shall be furnished in lengths and widths as specified below. The finished cover shall conform to the quality of product established by this specification and the occurrence of defects shall not exceed the applicable acceptable quality levels. 6 Licensed by Information Handling Services4, QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISI
39、ONS 4.1 Responsibility for inspection, Unless otherwise specified in the e contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements (examinations and tests) as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the c
40、ontractor may use his own or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government, The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in this specification where such inspections are deemed
41、necessary to ensure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. 4.1.1 Responsibility for compliance, All items shall meet all requirements of sections 3 and 5. The inspection set forth in this specification shall become a part of the contractors overall inspection system or quality pro
42、gram. The absence of any inspection requirements in the specification shall not relieve the contractor of the responsibility of ensuring that all products or supplies submitted to the Government for acceptance comply with all requirements of the contract. Sampling inspection, as part of manufacturin
43、g operations, is an acceptable practice to ascertain conformance to requirements, however, this does not authorize submission of known defective material, either indicated or actual, nor does it commit the Government to accept defective material, 4.1.2 Responsibility for dimensional requirements. Un
44、less otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for ensuring that all specified dimensions have been met. When dimensions cannot be examined on the end item, inspection shall be made at any point, or at all points in the manufacturing process necessary to as
45、sure compliance with all dimensional requirements. o 4.1.3 Certificates of compliance. When certificates of compliance are submitted, the Government reserves the right to inspect such items to determine the validity of the certification. 4,2 Classification of inspections. The inspection requirements
