I 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Item definition. The
10、 Commanders Display for AN/VSG-2, herein known as the commanders display, relays an image of the infrared scene produced by the ANfVSG-2 from the gunners station to the commanders station. 3.2 Construction. The commanders display shall be constructed in accor- dance with DLSM-B-804913 and as specifi
11、ed herein. 3.3 First article. When specified in the contract (see 6.21, the contractor shall furnish five (5) commanders displays for first article inspection and approval. 3.4 Parts, materials and processes. Parts, materials and processes shall be as specified herein and as shown on the applicable
12、drawings. materials and processes not specified shall be selected in accordance with MIL-P-11268. Parts, 3.5 Major components. The commanders display consists of the following comDonents and subassemblies and shall be constructed in accordance with applicable drawings, specifications and as specifie

14、. Each commanders display shall be subjected to a 48- hour preconditioning prior to delivery. 3.7 Operation. 3.7.1 Luminance uniformity. With a uniform scene input, the luminance of each display shall not vary more than +i5 percent from the average display luminance over the central 50 percent of th
15、e display. 3.7.2 Power. The commanders display power requirements shall not exceed 5 watts. 3.7.3 Optical transfer function (OTF). The modulation transfer function (MTF) shall satisfy the performance characteristics as shown below over the center of the display in the scan direction, with the system
16、s gain set so that the system is operating within its dynamic range and below saturation. The ratio of the image angu
17、lar subtense to the corresponding object angular subtense shall not be less than 1.05 times, when viewed through the biocular eyepiece. 3.7.5 Spatial uniformity. The variance in spatial uniformity of the commanders display shall not exceed +10 percent in the horizontal or - vertical directions over
18、the entire dzsplay. 3.7.6 Effective focal length (EFL). 19、06 0263587 4 I MIL-C-49 380 (ER) 3.7.7 f/number. The f/number shall be f/5.6. 3.7.8 Gain. The commanders display shall have a minimum luminance gain of 20. 3.7.9 Resolution. The visual axial resolution of the commanders display shall be not less than 20 line pairs per millimeter. 3.7.10 Controls. 3.
20、7.10.1 Contrast. A single control shall be provided to simultaneously control the gain of all channels to provide a minimum of 24 dB of attenuation. 3.7.10.2 Polarity switch. A polarity switch shall be provided to reverse the image contrast and cause the display to represent hot or cold targets as e
21、ither bright or dark. the contrast or brightness controls. Switching polarity shall not require an adjustment of 3.7.10.3 Brightness. A control shall be provided for setting the back- ground level of the image. 3.7.10.4 Commander and gunner. A control shall be provided for the comman- der that will
22、activate either the commanders or the gunners brightness, con- trast, and polarity controls. 1 3.7.11 Sealing, The commanders display shall show no evidence of leakage in excess of 0.2 psig when subjected to an internal pressure of 5, 51 psig for a minimum of 2 hours. The interior atmosphere of the
23、units shall contain dry nitrogen (having a maximum dew point of -32 C at atmospheric pressure), at a pressure of 0.25 to 5.0 psig when delivered. O 3.8 Environment. 3.8.1 Low temperature. 3.8.1.1 Operation. The commanders display shall not be damaged (see 6;3) when operated at temperatures to -32OC.
24、 3.8.1.2 Storage. The commanders dis lay shall not be damaged when sub- g jected to storage at temperatures to -57 C. 3.8.2 High temperature. 3.8.2.1 Operation. The commanders display shall not be damaged when operated at temperatures to +52OC. 3.8.2.2 Storage. The commgnders display shall not be da
25、maged when stored at temperatures to +71 C. 3.8.3 Temperature shock. The commanders display shall not “e damage, when operated at altitudes up to 10,000 feet above sea level. 3.8.4.2 Transportation. The commanders display shall not be damaged whe
27、n subjected to altitudes up to 40,000 feet above sea level. 3.8.5 Shock. 3.8.5.1 Basic shock. The commanders display shall not be damaged when subjected to basic shock of 35 gs at 15 milliseconds duration. 3.8.5.2 High intensity shock. The commanders display shall not be damaged when subjected to hi
28、gh intensity shock of 100 gs at 4 milliseconds duration. 3.8.5.3 Bench handling shock. The commanders display shall not be damaged when subjected to shocks encountered in bench handling. 3.8.6 Vibration. The Commanders display shall not be damaged when subjected to the following random and superimpo
29、sed sinusoidal levels for a period of 15 minutes in each of three mutually perpendicular axes. 30、isplay shall withstand water hosing at a minimum of 5 pounds per sguare inch (psig) through a l-inch nozzle parallel to the joints from a distance of 3 feet maximum for a time of 5 minutes minimum, without intake of water or damage. 3.8.8 Humidity. The commanders display shall operate and not be dam
31、aged by exposure to 100 percent relative humidity. 3.8.9 Dust. The commanders display shall not be damaged when exposed to dust at velocities up to 1750, $1250 feet per minute (fpm) for 12 hours. 3.9 Reliability. Not applicable. 3.10 Workmanship. Workmanship shall be as specified in MIL-STD-454, Req

QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the con- tract, the contractor is r

When specified in the contract, the contractor shall furnish 5 commanders displays for first article inspection (see 6.2). 4.3.1 Inspection. Each assembled first article commanders display shall be examined in accordance with table I. Pr

From commanders displays that have passed preconditioning of 4.3.2, five (5) first article commanders displays shall be subjected to all tests of table II, in any order. Unless otherwise specified, the tests of table II shall be
41、 performed with the Commanders display at the ambient conditions (see 6.3). Failure of any commanders display to pass all tests in table II shall constitute failure of first article . Presence of one or more defects shall constitute failure of that commanders display. 4.4.2 Preconditioning. Each commanders display which has passed the inspection of 4.4
