2、fense, 1. SCOPE 1.1 Scope. This specification covers commercial diesel-engine-driven, truck-mounted, pneumatic-tired, f u11 revolving cranes capable of lifting and placing loads mainly for container handling operations. 1.2 Classification. Cranes shall be one of the following types as specified (see

12、o, the crane shall meet all require- ments set forth far compliance with the Power Crane and Shovel Association Standard Number 1. of these regalations have been repeated herein. This does not release the contractor from meeting the requirements that are not specifically stated herein. The crane and

13、 all of its compcnents shall be the current comercial production model of a standard prodtict and, except for product improvements, shall have demonstrated industry acceptability by having been manufactured, marketed and sold to commercial users for the same or similar application for at least 1 yea

14、r prior to the opening of the bids. For clarification and illustration, certain requirements 3.2 First article. Unless otherwise specified (see .2), the con- tractor shall f usnish one complete crane for first article inspection and test. The first article shall be identical to the other production

15、cranes. When specified (see 6.2), the first article shall remain zit the contractors plant as a production sample, and shall be the last crane delivered on the contract. The first article.shal1 be restored to a like new condition which meets all requirements of this specification, including tuneup,

16、paint or repainting, prior to delivery. Any of the first article tests which the contractor has previously performed to meet the requirements of the American Rational Standards Institute (ANSI) Safety Code P30.5, PCSA Standard No. 1, or for a previous military contract, need not he performed providi

17、ng these tests either equal or exceed the test specified in Section 4 of this specifi- cation, and have been adequately documented. A certified copy of the test report of the previously performed test shall be included as part cf the first article test report. 3.3 Material. All material used in the

18、manufacture of the crane shall be of the same quality as that being used by the contractor in his production cranes for comercial market sales. defects or imperfections that would affect the cranes operation or serviceability (see 6.6) e Naterial shall be free from any 3.4 Performance. All of the structural members, the boom and t.he supporting conponents of the. crane sha3.1 meet or exceed the strength margins specified in

26、CAE 5987. 3.5.2 Maintainability The crane design, together with component and accessory location and installation, shall permit ready accessibility to all items requiring periodic maintenance service which will te accomplished with the use of conventional, general-purpose tools associated with equip

30、ing alamis) exceeds 85 dB(A) when measured in accordance wtth 4.3.10, warning plates shall be perrcanently affixed to the crane in a conspictlous, protected location and sh.all be clearly visible and legible to all persamel exposed to the excessive noise levels. The warning plates shall read: CAUTIO

31、N - HEARING PROTECTION REQUIRED, or CAUTION - HEARING PROTECTION REQUIRED WITHIN X FEFI. The plate shall have a yellow background with black lettering and shall be of corrosion resistant material. 34、all be of the multiaxle truck type and shall provide the required mobility and stability to the superstructure in all aspects of crane operations. 3.0.1 Outriggers. 3.6.1,l Standard outriggers. Hydraulic outriggers sha13. he furnished, and shall be provided with means for dependent vertical and hori

35、zontal movement of the outrigger floats. The contractors ctafidard outrigger floats shall be furnishsd and shall be securely stored on the crane when not in use. froni the carrier chassis, The outrigger boxes shall have provisions for easy removal 3.6.1.2 Front and rear auxiliary outriggers. In addi

36、tion to standard outriggers, the Type I crane shall be provided with one frat au.xiliary and the Type II crane shall be provided with one front and two rear auxiliary outriggers complete with floats to provide for stability for operations over the front and rear of the carrier. 3.6.1.3 Low ground be

In addition to the stm.dard and auxiliary floats, the crane shall be provided with an outri gger f loat system for cram ;peration on surfaces vith low load carryir.g capabi1,ities. The system shall consist of a multiple float system with structural members for insta
