13、 references cited herein, the text of this specification shall take precedence. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Item Description. The electrical power connectors described in this specification are designed to carry 208 VAC 400 Hz 3-phase power and control signals for the EPPII and EPU. 3.1.1 Connectors. When s
14、pecified (see 6.2), the following connectors shall be furnished: a. TA13226E1440 for pin-type connector. b, TA13226E1410 for socket-type connector. 3.2 Drawings. Any data (e.g., shop drawings, layouts, flowsheets, processing procedures, etc.) prepared
16、by the contractor or obtained from a vendor to support fabrication and manufacture of the production item shall be available, upon request, for inspection by the contracting officer or his designated representative. No deviation from the prescribed dimensions or tolerances is 3.3 First article. The
17、contractor shall furnish one or more connectors as specified (see 6.2) for examination and testing within the time frame specified (see 6.2) to prove prior to starting that his production methods will produce connectors that comply with requirements of this specification. Examination and tests shall
18、 be as specified in section 4. Unless otherwise specified herein, all examinations and tests shall be conducted by the contractor subject to surveillance and approval by the Government (see 6.3). 6.21, the Government will conduct any or all of the first article examinations and tests, as specified (
19、see 6.2). When specified (see 3.4 Material. Material shall be as specified herein and on the applicable drawings. be subject to all provisions of this specification. Materials not specified shall be selected by the contractor and shall 3.4.1 Material deterioration and control. The connectors shall b

Dissimilar metals shall not be used in intimate contact with each other unless protected against galvanic corrosion. Dissimilar metals and method
22、s of protection are defined and detailed in MIL-STD-889. 3.5 Performance requirements. The electrical connectors shall comply with the following requirements: 3.5.1 Contact resistance. When connectors are tested as specified in 4.5.3 the resistance of mated pin and socket contacts shall be such that

24、nnectors are tested as specifi- ed in 4.5.4, connectors shall be capable of withstanding 2000 volt AC nus, 60Hz. 3.5.3 Thermal shock. When connectors are tested as specified in 4.5.5 the connectors shall show no evidence of physical damage (see 6.5). 3.5.4 Contact retention. When contacts are tested
25、 as specified in 4.5.6 they shall be capable of withstanding the axial loads shown in table II and remain seated in the insert. TABLE II. 27、as specified in 4.5.8, the initial insulation resistance shallbe not less than 5,000 megohms. 3.5.7 Moisture resistance. 29、tors are tested as specified in 4.5.11, test cables (see 4.2.3) shall not pull-out when a load of 75 pounds is applied, nor shall the slippage exceed 1/8 inch. 20. 0 - “1 I 3.5.10 Vibration. When the wired connector assembly is tested as specified in 4.5.12, there shall be no cracking, breaking, or
30、loosening of parts, nor shall there be a loss of electrical continuity in excess of 10 microseconds. J.S.ll Water immersion. When tested in accordance with 4.5.13, the connector shall show no leakage. There shall be no evidence of water leakage at the con- nector interface of mated connectors. At th
31、e end of 4 hours while the mated plugs are still immersed, the insulation resistance shall be 100 megohms minimum. 3.5.12 Fluid immersion. When connectors are tested as specified in 4.5.14, they shall mate properly with their counterpart connectors and withstand one-half the applicable voltage stipu
32、lated in 3.5.2. 3.5.13 Contact engagement and separation forces. 34、3.6 Marking. Each connector, shall be legibly and permanently marked as spe- cified on the drawing referenced herein. 3.7 Workmanship. The connector shall be processed in such a manner as to be uniform in quality and shall be free from defects that will affect life, service- ability, or appearance.

36、ri- External surfaces shall be free of sharp edges and corners except 3.7.1 Plating. The connector shall be nickel plated 0.001 inch in thickness (minimum) in accordance with MIL-C-26074, class 4, grade A. coating of cadmium plating 0.0001 inch minimum, thickness in accordance with QQ-P-416, type II
37、, color olive drab, shall be plated over the nickel coating. Workmanship for the nickel plating shall be in accordance with MIL-C-26074. A conductive 3.7.2 Rubber parts. All rubber parts shall be free of flashing, nicks, porosity, and molding or manufacturing flaws that would make the part unsuitabl
38、e for its intended use. 3.7.3 Rivets. Rivets shall be installed in accordance with the drawings referenced herein. 3.7.4 Threads. The connector threads shall be free from burrs, nicks, and other defects that would cause binding or would not allow threaded parts to be mated smoothly. 3.8 Government f
39、urnished equipment. When specified (see 6.2) the Government will furnish the following equipment for the conduct of test specified herein: a. b. C. 40、4.1 Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements, specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract, the contractor may use his own or any other facilities suitable for the pe
41、rformance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. The Government reserves the right to perform any

The contractor is resposible for insuring that components anci materials used are manufactured, examined, and test
43、ed in accordance with referenced specifications, standards, and drawings, as applicable. 4.1.2 Disassembly inspection. Failure of any test: or examination by the first article model shall be cause for disassembly, in the presence of a Government representative, of the first article model to the exte
44、nt necessary to determine the cause of the failure. Each disassembled part shall be examined in detail for compliance with this specification and referenced drawings in regard to materials, dimensions, tolerances, and workmanship. Parts not complying with such requirements shall be rejected and shal

Unless otherwise specified, inspections required by this specification shall be made under any combinations of conditions within the following ranges. Any specified con

Barometric pressure 650 to 850 mm of mercury. 4.2.2 Test equipment calibration. Calibration of test equipment shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-45662. 4.2.3 Test cables. F
48、or the purpose of these tests, the connectors shall be wired with cable conforming to drawing 1322238995 (see 3.8). 4.3 First article inspection. 4.3.1 Examination. The first article connector(s) shall be examined as spe- cified in 4.5.1. Presence of one or more defects shall be cause for rejection
49、and for performing the disassembly inspection specified in 4.1.2. 4.3.2 Tests. Upon successful completion of the examination specified in 4.3.1, the first article connector(s) shall be subjected to the tests marked “X“ in column 1 of table V. for performing the disassembly inspection specified in 4.1.2.
