The test shall be performed in accordance with ASTM E-18 using a cylindron anvil and the appropriate penetrator for the Rockwell C scale. Hardness readings shall be taken at three separate locations along the length of each bar; 1.0 +
22、 0.5 inch(2.54 + 1.27cm) from each end and + 0.5 inch (1.27cm) from the center. One reading shall be taken at each location and shall be oriented approximately 120 from one another . Readings shall be corrected in accordance with ASTM E-18. These readings shall then be rounded to the nearest integer
23、 in accordance with ASTM E-29. If any reading fails to meet the applicable drawing requirement, a retest shall be performed within 0.25 inch longitudinally frm the original measurement. No more than one retest is allowed at any one location. Failure to meet tne applicable drawing requirement at any

If one or more retest specimens fails to meet the applicable requirement (0.69-0.79 percent), then the ingot in question shall be rejected. Failure of three or more ingots or rods
