REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Item definition. The Mortar Ballistics Computer (MBC) is a portable computing device which wil
12、l allow an operator to quickly perform functions of the mortar fire direction center. The MBC shall consist of communication, keyboard, and display interfaces to enable the operator to do the following: a. 14、mance . 3.2.1 General. The performance of the MBC shall be in accordance with the following requirements. 3.2.1.1 External input power. The MBC shall be capable of accepting power from a 20 to 32 volt vehicular power supply. With input power applied to J2-A (Positive) and J2-B (Return), the MBC powe
15、r consumption shall be 2.5 watts maximum. 3.2.1.2 Internal input power. The MBC shall be capable of accepting power and operating from the batteries specified on 11785700, with the batteries suppling the input power (J2-A positive and J2-B negative). 3.2.1.3 Local push to talk. This signal line, XMT
16、KY (Jl-F), shall have a DC resistance less than 10 ohms with respect to XMTKYR (Jl-H) during message transmissions from the AUDIO TO AM RADIO or AUDIO TO FM RADIO outputs. This signal line shall be 100 kilohms minimum resistance with respect to XMTKYR at other times. 3.2.1.4 FM Radio output. During
17、transmissions, the output levels shall be 5 plus or minus 2 millivolts rms between AUDIO TO FM RADIO (Jl-E) and RADIO COMMON (Jl-D) whenterminated in a 150 ohm resistive load. 3.2.1.5 AM Radio output. During message transmissions, the output shall be 19.5 plus or minus 4 millivolts rms between AUDIO
18、 TO AM RADIO (Jl-J) and RADIO COMMON (Jl-D) when terminated in a SO ohm resistive load. 3.2.1.6 Wireline output. The WIRELINE 1 signal line is the electrical complement of the WIRELINE 2 signal line. During message transmission on wireline, the signal voltage between WIRELINE 1 and WIRELINE 2 shall
19、be 775 millivolts plus or minus 2dB when terminated in a 600 ohm resistive load. The wireline terminals shall receive audio signals at levels between 7.75 and 775 millivolts rms. 3.2.1.7 Radio input. The MBC shall receive audio signals between 8 millivolts and 2 volts rms with the signal applied bet
20、ween either AUDIO FROM AM RADIO (Jl-A) and RADIO COMMOM (Jl-D) or AUDIO FROM FM RADIO (Jl-C) and RADIO COMMON (Jl-D) . 3 . 21、he MBC firmware shall contain and execute the computer program in accordance with 9379231 and 9379241. I 3.2.1.9 FSK Frequencies. The MBC shall transmit and receive messages using 1200 plus or minus 10 Hz to represent a “mark“ and 2400 plus or minus 10 Hz to represent a “space“. 3.2.1.10 Data rate.
22、The MBC shall transmit and receive messages at 600 plus or minus 0.6 and 1200 plus or minus 1.2 bits per second with FSK frequencies of 1200 and 2400 Hz. 3.2.1.11 Built-in-Test (BIT). The MBC shall provide operator-selected self test capability. 3.2.2 Physical characteristics. The physical character
23、istics shall be as prescribed by the drawings, specifications, and QAPs. 3.2.3 Reliability. When specified in the contract, a special sample shall be subjected to reliability testing. The manufacturing and production techniques emloyed in the fabrication of the MBC shall not degrade the inherent rel
24、iability. The inherent reliability shall not be less than 16,585 hours Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF). (See 4 and 6) 3.3 Environmental. The MBC shall meet the requirements specified herein unless otherwise specified. 3.3.1 Room ambient temperature. The requirements of this specification shall be
25、met with the MBC stabilized at room ambient temperature of +16OC to t32OC (t600F to +9OoF), unless otherwise specified in the requirements paragraph. 3.3.2 Environmental stress screen (ESS) temperature. The MBC shall meet the requirements of 3.2.1.1 and 3.2.1.11 inclusive, after having been exposed
26、to a minimum of eight temperature cycles at temperatures of -57OC and t710C (-71OF and +160OP). 3.3.3 Operatinq temperature, The MBC shall meet the requirements of 3.2.1.1 and 3.2.1.11 inclusive, while exposed to a minimum of eight temperature cycles at temperatures of -4OOC and +710C (-4OOF and t16
27、0OF). 3.3.4 Environmental stress screen (ESS) vibration. The MBC shall meet the requirements of 3.2.1.1 and 3.2.1.11 inclusive, after having been subjected to a random or pseudorandom vibration which includes frequency content from 100 Hz to 1000 Hz and up to a 3g RMS in two axis for a period of 10
28、minutes plus or minus 15 seconds. 3.3.5 Immersion. The MBC shall be manufactured in accordance with drawing 11785700. 3.5 First article. When specified in the contract, a sample shall be subjected to first artic
30、le inspection (See 4 and 6). 3.6 Workmanship. The workmanship requirements of MIL-F-13926 and MIL-STD-454 shall be met. All components shall be fitted properly and firmly in their respective positions. All electrical connections shall be mechanically secure and electrically sound. There shall be no
31、evidence of corrosion, burrs, roughness, sharp edges or other defects which could adversely affect its use or suitability for the purpose intended. 3,7 Materials. - Materials shall be in accordance with drawings, material specifications and general specifications forming a part of this specification
32、. - - 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order
33、, the contractor may use his own or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in this specification where such inspections are
34、deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. 4.1.1 General provisions. The component and subassembly inspection requirements of MIL-F-13926 and MIL-STD-454 form a part of the Quality Assurance Provisions of this specification. Definitions of inspection terms s
35、hall be as listed in MIL-STD-109. 4.2 First article (initial production) approval. The requirement for first article approval and the responsibility (Government or contractor) for first article testing shall be as specified in the contract. The sample for first article approval test shall consist of
36、 three (3) MBCs plus three (3) each of all items covered by QAP, The three MBCs shall be tested as specified herein for all the requirements of this specification. The items covered by QAP shall be tested, as specified thereon, for all characteristics delineated on the QAP. The samples shall be manu
37、factured in the same manner, using the same materials, equipment, processes, and procedures as will be used in the production of the balance of the contract quantity. All parts and materials, including packaging and packing, shall be obtained from the same source of supply as will be used in the pro

When the Government is responsible for conducting first article approval
39、 tests, the contractor prior to submitting the sample to the Government, shall inspect the sample to insure that it conforms to all requirements of the contract and submit a record of this inspection with the sample, including certificates of conformance for all materials. 4.2.2 Contractor testing.
40、When the contractor is responsible for conducting first article approval tests, the sample shall be inspected by the contractor for all the requirements o the contract. The sample and a record of this inspection, including certificates of conformance for all materials, shall be submitted to the Gove
41、rnment for approval. The Government reserves the right to witness any or all of the contractors inspections. 4.3 inspection provisions. 4.3.1 Submission of product. Unless otherwise specified by the contracting officer, inspection lot size, lot formation, and presentation of lots shall be in accorda
42、nce with “Submission of Product“ provision of MIL-STD-105. 4.3.2 Examination and tests. 4.3.2.1 Components and subassemblies. All components and subassemblies shall be inspected in accordance with the inspection provisions contained in Quality Assurance Provisions (QAPs) listed in the .Technical Dat
43、a Package (TDP). In the absence of QAPs, the applicable Quality Assurance Provisions of MIL-F-13926 shall apply. 4.4 Sampling. 4.4.1 Environmental/performance.
