Subject the cover assembly and body weldment to the internal air pressure specified in dwg 9390404 for the test time specified. For the cover assembly, apply the pressure when the cover assembly (equipped with a gaske
19、t is assembled to a master body weldment (or its equivalent). For the body weldment apply the pressure when the body , weldment is assembled to a master cover (or equivalent) and gasket. The master cover and master body weldment shall be provided with satisfactory means for applying and maintaining
20、the specified pressure requirement during the test. A cover assembly or body weldment which exceeds the requirement shall be classed defective.“ * Add new 4.5.7.3.1 as follows: “4.5.7.3.1 Alternate air tressure test for umainted cover assablv and unnainted assemblv (Wate r Method) . Subject the cove
21、r assembly and container body, while under water, to the specified internal air pressure for the test time specified. For the cover assembly, apply the pressure, when the cover assembly is assembled, to a master body assembly (or its equivalent) equipped with a gasket. For the body assembly, apply t
22、he pressure when the body assembly is assembled to a master cover (or equivalent) and gasket. The master cover and master body assembly shall be provided with satisfactory means for applying and maintaining the pressure during the test and for showing evidence of leakage. No bubbles (other than surf
23、ace bubbles) shall be permitted. A cover assembly or body assembly which does not meet the requirements shall be classed defective.
