8、 wth all requirements specified on Drawing (dwg) 9216189 and all drawings referenced thereon, and with all requirements specified in applicable specifications. 3.3 Functioning. - Detonation of the destructor shall cause an indentation of 0.1 inch, minimum (min), depth at the deepest point and a diam

They shall be free
10、 of burrs, sharp edges, chips, cracks, dirt, grease, rust, corrosion products and other foreign material. The cleaning method used shall not be injurious to any part nor shall the parts be contaminated by the cleaning agent. Exterior surface coatings shall be continuous except for a few light scratc
11、hes not exposing base material. All required markings shall be neat and sharply defined. . 3.5 First Article Inspection. - This specification contains technical provisions for first article inspection. Requirements be as specified in the contract. * for the submission of first article samples by the

QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for Inspection.-Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the supplier is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract or orde
13、r, the supplier may use his own or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection re- quirements Specified herein, unless disapproved by the Govern- ment. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections ar
14、e deemed necessary to assure supplies and ser- vices conform to prescribed requirements, Reference shall be made to MIL-STD-109 to define terms used herein. The provi- sions of MIL-A-2550 shall apply. Submission of Product.-At the time each completed lot of items deliverable under the contract is su
15、bmitted to the Government for acceptance, the contractor shall supply the fol- lowing information accompanied by a certificate which attests that the information provided is correct and applicable to the product being submitted. 4,l.l a. 18、. - The sampling plan for this test shall be in accordance with MIL- STD-105, Code Letter K, using an AQL of 0.40 percent. Any des- tructor assembly which fails to provide an indentation in the steel pla$e of the required depth or diameter shall be classed defec+,ive. The test shall be performed as
19、specified in 4.4.4 using equiprnent in accordance with 4.3.4. 4.3.4 Inspection Equipment. - Inspection equipment required to perform the inspections prescribed in this specification is identified in the examination (4.3.2) and Test Method (4.4) para- graphs herein. See 6.3 for details concerning res
20、ponsibilities for inspection design and approval. 4.4 Test Methods and Procedures 4.4.1 Specific gravity of booster pellet. - The pellet shall be weighed on a balance and the weight recorded as dry weight. The pellet shall then be weighed while completely submerged in water, taking care to remove al
21、l air bubbles remaining on the surfaces of the pellet. The temperaturtof the water shall be 68 degrees Fahrenheit (F) plus or minus 2 degrees F. shall be recorded as weight under water. (When submerged, the position of the pellet shall be such that no air is entrapped). Specific. gravity shall be ca

24、cified pull applied in the axial direction. Observation shall be made for compliance with the applicable drawing requirements. 4.4.4 Functioning. - A test plate, or grade 1020 flat steel in accordance with ASTM A575-67T and measuring four inches by four inches, one inch thick, shall be used with eac
25、h destructor assembly for this test. The test shall be conducted on firm flat groi;nG. The test plate shall be positioned so that one of its large su?fz:es makes good contact with the surface of the earth. A No. 6 or :;z. 6 commercial blasting cap or military blasting cap shall be assernclod to the
26、destructor. The destructor shall be placed in the center of the upper face of the plate with the destructor perpendicular to the plate. The blasting cap shall be fired and the resultant effect of the detonation of the destructor on the plate shall be observed. The maximum depth measured from the ori
27、ginal surface and the diam- eter of the indentation in the plate shall be measured and recorded. 5. PREPRATION FOR DELITmRI 5.1 Preservation, packing, packaging and marking shall 6. SIE designs are designated by drawin
31、g numbers under the “Nethod of Inspection“ headings in Section 4. Design responsibility for all other inspection equipment is assigned to the contractor. The contractor need not furnish any design when a complete Govern- ment SIE design is provided. Unless otherwise specified, how- ever, the contrac
32、tor may submit alternate or modified con- tractor designs of SIE in accordance with 6.3.2 and 6.3.3 should he elect to do so. 6.3.1 SIE designs.-SIE designs may consist of any of the foiloNing: a. 34、repare designs which comply with the criteria therein. 6.3.2 Contractor designs.-Contractor designs are required for.all inspection equipment for which SIE designs are not speci- fied and may include comercial equipment which the contractor proposes to use. (Commercial equipment is defined as unmodi
35、fied equipment which is cataloged and available for purchase by the general public). Contractor designs shall include appropriate operating instructions, calibration procedures and maintenance procedures. Commercial equipment shall be fully described by catalog listings or other means which provide
36、sufficient infor- mation to permit identification and evaluation by the Government and may include illustrations and engineering data. Designs sha11 be prepared for any special fixture(s) required to be used with commercial equipment, or with SIE designs if not otherwise covered thereby (see 6.3.1).

39、ed without license from IHS-,-,-MIL-D-12957C (PA) 6.3.3 Submission of Designs for Approval.-Contractor designs shall be approved by the Government prior to fabricating or pro- . curing the equipment. Designs shall be submitted for approval to Picatinny Arsenal, ATTN: SARPA-&A-A-M, Dover, New Jersey
40、07801 in accordance with the stipulations, time frame and distribution - specified in the Contract Data Requirements List (DD Form 1423) or in the contract. The contractor must include in his sub- mission of designs a listing of any and all Government SIE designs which will be utilized. Partial subm
41、ission of inspec- tion designs is permissible and encouraged. However, the . completion date for design review will be based on the date of the final submission of designs. Picatinny Arsenal design review will normally be accomplished within one month after receipt. *6.4 The margins of this specific
