8、wings and specifications. 3.2 Components and Assemblies.-The components and assemblies shall cornply with all requirements specified on drawing (dwg.) 9297952 and associated drawings and with all requirements speci- fied in applicable specifications and standards. 3.3 loisture Content of Lead Azide.
9、-The moisture content of the lead azide used in loading thedetonator shall not exceed 0.30 percent when tested as specified in 4.5.2. 3.4 Hoisture Content of IMX.-The moisture content of the HPIX used in loading the detonator shall not exceed 0.30 percent - when tested as specified in 4.5.3. 3.5 Res

11、 the first attempt, and shall make a minimurn (min.) depression of 0.005 inches in the steel witness plate when tested as specified in 4.5.8.1. 3.6.2 Waterproofness .-The detonator shall comply with the requirements of 3.6.1 after being submerged in water to a minimum depth of 2 inches for not less
12、than 48 hours, at a temperature of 75 degrees F. plus or minus 5 degrees, when tested as specified in 4.5.8.2. 3.6.3 Time.-The detonator shall fire within 200 micro- seconds when tested as specified in 4.5.8.3. 3.7 Environmental 3.7.1 Res,istance of Lead Circuit, Thermal Shock and Vibration.-The det
13、onators shall comply with the resistance requirement of the lead clrcuit on dwg. 9297952 and with the requirements of 3.6.1 after bking exposed to thermal shock and vibration and tested as specified in 4.5.9.1. 3.7.2 Cold Temperature.-The detonator assembly shall comply with the requirements of 3.6.
14、1 after being conditioned at -65 - t 5OF for two hours and tested as specified in 4.5.9.2. 3.7.3 Hot Temperature.-The detonator asserbly shall comply with the requirements of 3.6.1 after being Conditioned at .t i65 - + 5OF for two hours and tested as specified in 4.5.9.3. 3.8 First Article Inspectio
15、n.-This specification contains technical provisions for first article inspection. Requirements for the submission of first article samples shall be as specified in the contract. 3.9 Workmanship.-All parts and assenblies snall be fabri- cated and loaded in a thorough, workmanlike manner. They shall b
16、e free of burrs, chips, sharp edges, cracks, surface defects, dirt, grease, rust, corrosion products and other foreign matter. The cleaning method used shall not be injurious to any part nor shall the parts be contaminated by the cleaning agent. All re- quired markings shall be neat and sharply defi

34、ons and tests Drescribed in this specification is identified, ence, in the “Paragraph Reference/Inspection Methodff column of the Pirst Article or Quality Conformance Inspection Tables herein. The contractor shall submit inspection equipment de- signs to the Government for approval in accordance wit
35、h the terms of the contract. See Section of MIL-A-48078 and 6.2 herein. either directly or by refer- 4.5 Test Method and Procedures 4.5.1 Materials, Components and Processes.-Compliance with all requirements of Section 3 of this specification shall be ascertained by current and- continuing examinati
36、on of inspec- tion and test data to determine that all components (parts, subassemblies, and materials) have been inspected and tested and found to comply with their respective drawing and specifi- cation requirements, and that all specified manufacturing processes have been followed. 4.5.1.1 Visual
37、 and Mechanical Inspections.-The visual, rnai?ual and mechanical inspections and tests shall verify com- pliance with the requirements of Sections 3 and 5 of this specification in accordance with 4.4.2 herein and Table I. 4.5.2 Moisture Content of Lead Azide.-The moisture content of the lead azide s
38、hall be determined for each lot at the time of loading. A sample in sufficient quantity to perform the test shall be selected and tested as specified herein. The moisture content of the lead azide shall be determined in accordance with MIL-STD-650, Method 101.5 except, use a two gram sample and cove
39、r the dish with a sheet of polytetrafluoroethylene. as specified in 4.5.2. 4.5.3 HI.IX.-The moisture content of HNX shall be determined 4.5.4 be verified be- recurned _ -. 41、. on one end and to the eye- let on the other end, along the longitudinal axis of the eyelet, in a manner to pull the assembly apart. Lhe assembly shall be classed defective if separation of assembly or any visible movement of the electrodes in the eyelet is observed. If one or more defectives occur
42、 the lot shall be rejected. (Test samples shall not be returned to the lot). 4.5.6 Insulation Test.-The required D.C. voltage (315 + 10 volts) shall be applied between the shorted electrodes and the cup of all detonators. The resistance shall be a minimum of 22 megohms when measured between the elec
43、trodes and the cup. If any detonator fails to meet the requirements, it shall be classed defective. All defectives shall be removed from the lot. 4.5.7 Resistance of Shorting Clip.-The resistance of the detonator with shorting clip shall be measured between electrodes. The shorting clip shall then b
44、e removed and the resistance again measured. The resistance of the remaining assembly shall be at least eleven times as large as the re- sistance of the detonator with shorting clip. If any deto- nator fails to meet the requirements, it shall be classed defective. If one or more defectives occur the
45、 lot shall be rejected. The resistance should be measured with a current limited to one milliampere. 4.5.8 Functioning.-The detonator assemblies shall be tem- perature conditioned at 70 t 10 OP for two (2) hours minimum prior to performing the functioning tests. The tests shall be performed as speci
46、fied in MIL-STD-331, Test 301.1 except that the witness plate be 1/8 inch minimum and optionally round, 1.22 - .O1 dia. Witness plate hardness shall be Rockwell B7O to B95. The base of the detonatorshall be placed directly against the center of the witness plate and electrical contact made through a
47、 clip which will provide a minimum confinement of the detonator. One lead shall be affixed to each electrode. The measurement of the depression in the witness plate shall be accomplished with a dial indicator equipped with a probe having a .O03 - t .OQ1 spherical radius. lot shall be subjected to th
