14、 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Materials and components. 3.1.1 Materials. All materials cited on TDPL ii6-3-i2i or on the subsidiary drawings shall conform to the specifications listed thereon or to the specific characteristics set forth on the drawings. 3.1.2 Components. All components of the disperser shall
15、 conform to the specifications and drawings listed on TDPL 116-3-121 and on subsidiary draw- ings 3.2 Assembly. The disperser shall be assembled as shown -on Drawing 116-3-121. 3.3 Functioning. When the high pressure cylinder is charged to 2100 + 100 pounds per square inch gage (psig), the regulator
16、 shall deliver air at 180 + 20 psig, the gun shall function freely, and the assembly shall not leak when tested in accordance with 4.4.4.1. - 3 .4 Container (Drawing 116-3-101 1 . 3.4.1 Leakage and deformation. The container shall not leak or be perma- nently deformed when subjected to a minimum hyd
17、rostatic pressure of 350 psig for 1 minute when tested in accordance with 4.4.4.2. 3.4.2 Rupture. The container chal not rupture prior to sustaining a mini- mum hydrostatic pressure of 800 psig when tested in accordance with 4.4.4.3. 3.5 - Gun. The gun shall function freely and not leak for a minimu
18、m period of 30 seconds when subjected to a minimum bdrostatic or air pressure of 200 psig when tested in accordance with 4.4.4.4. 3.6 Container assembly. The container assembly shall not leak at a minimum air pressure of 200 psig when tested in accordance with 4.4.4.5. 3.7 Harness. 3.7.1 Stitching.
19、All stitching, except bartacking, shall be stitch type 301 or 401 of FED-STD-751, 8 to 10 stitches per inch. 3.7.1.1 Typ e 301 stitching. Ehds of all stitching shall be backstitched 1 inch minimum (1/2 inch on box X and W-W stitching) , except where ends are turned under in a hem or held down by oth
20、er stitching. maintained so that there will be no loose or tight stitching, and the lock shall be embedded in the inaterials sewn. Thread tension shall be 3.7.1.1.1 Repairs of type 301 stitching. 22、 of the stitching.l/ (b) Thread breaks, or two or more consecutive skipped stitches or run-Offs, noted during inspection of the item (in-process or end item) shall be repaired by overstitching. The stitching shall start a minimum of one inch in back of the defective area (1/2 inch on box X and W-W s
23、titching), continue over the defective area and continue a minimum of one inch beyond the defective area onto the existing stitching. Loose or excessively tight stitching shall be repaired by removing the defective stitching, without damaging the materials, and restitching in the required manner.l/
24、Lhhen making the above repairs the ends of the stitching are not required to be backstitched. 3.7.1.2 Type 401 stitching. Thread tension shall be maintained so that there will be no loose stitching. Al1 repairs shall be in accordance with 3.7.1.1*1(a) and 3.7.1.1.1(b) except substitute 3/4 inch for
25、one inch wherever one inch appears. 3.7.1.3 Automatic stitching. Automatic machines may be used to perform any of the required stitch patterns provided the requirements for the stitch pat- tern, stitches per inch, size and type of thread are met, and at least three or more tying, overlapping, or bac
26、k stitches are used to secure the ends of the stitching. 3.7.1.4 Lubrication of thread. There shall be no lubrication of the thread by any means, prior to or during sewing. 3.7.1.5 Thread ends. All thread ends shall be trimmed to i/4 inch maximum length. 3.7.2 Location marks. Location and notice mar
27、ks shall not be drilled. 3.7.3 Snap fasteners and rivets. The lengths of the rivets and fasteners shall be determined by the contractor and shall effect a secure clinch of the assembled component s. 3.7.3.1 Setting. The hole shall be punched before inserting the fastener or rivet and shall be smalle
28、r than the outside diameter of the fastener barrel or rivet so that it must be forced through the hole. The fastener or rivet shall be securely clinched without cutting the surrounding material. When installed, the clinched end shall have a uniform roll that will effect a secure hold. All burrs shal
29、l be removed from the rivet. 3.7.4 Repairs. Repairs such as mends, darns, patches or splices are not per- mitted on the harness. 4 ,. .-,: 1-24 - . . 30、EA) 4.3 Preproduction inspection. 3.8 Frame and frame assembly riveting. Final sizing of rivet holes shall be done at assembly to preclude misalignment of mating holes at time of assembly. Punching of rivet holes in tubular components shall not be permitted. surfaces of riveted components shall be d

Prior to the start of regular production, a preproduc- tion sample of dispersers and components shall be produced for examination and tests i
32、n accordance with this specification. 3.10 Workmanship. The disperser and components shall be free from damage, cracks, splits, tears, burrs, sharp edges, sharp corners and foreign matter such as dirt, grease or oil that could impair their intended use. 4 . QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsib
33、ility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the con- tract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. in %he contract or purchase order, the contractor may use his own or any other facilities suitable for the perfo
34、rmance of the inspection requirements speci- fied herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed require
35、ments. Except as otherwise specified 4.1.1 Responsibility for compliance. All items must meet all requirements of sections 3 and 5. a part of the contractors overall inspection system or quality program. The absence of any inspection requirements in the specification shall not relieve the contractor
36、 of the responsibility of assuring that all products or supplies submitted to the Government for acceptance comply with all requirements of the con-bract. Sampling in quality conformance does not authorize submission of known defective material, either indicated or actual, nor does it commit the Gov
37、ernment to acceptance of defective material. The inspection set forth in this specification shall become 4.2 Classification of inspections. The inspection requirements specified herein are classified as follows: (a) (b) Preproduction inspection (see 4.3) Quality conformance inspection (see 4.4) . 4.
38、3.1 - Lot. The assembled dispersers shall be tested in accordance with 4.4.kc. The containers shall be tested in accordance with 4.4.4.2. The guns shall be tested in accordan
40、ce with 4.4.4.4. 4.3.2.2 For destructive tests. Twenty-two containers shall be tested in accordance with 4.4.4.3. teen containers shall be tested in accordance wth 4.4.4,3.
