2、ense. 1. SCOPE 1.1 ScoDe. This specification covers 1 type of Truss Assembly used with the Type V Airdrop Platform. 1.2 Classification. The Trusses will be of the following sizes, and as specified (see 6.2). Type 1 - 12 Foot Type II - 16 Foot Type III - 20 Foot Type IV - 24 Foot Beneficial comments

In the event of a conflict between the text of this document and the references cited herein, the text of this document takes p
9、recedence. Nothing in this document,however,supersedes applicable laws and regulations unless a specific exemption has been obtained. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 First article. When specified(see 6.2), a sample shall be subjected to first article inspection in accordance with 4.2. 3.2 Materials. Materials a
10、nd components shall be as specified on Drawing 11-1-3600 and all subsidiary drawings and parts lists and as specified herein. Assemblies and components shall be constructed in accordance with the requirements of the Drawing 11-1-3600 and all subsidiary drawings and parts lists. 3.4 WorkmanshiD. The end item shall conform to the quality of product established by
12、 this specification. All components and assemblies of the Truss Assembly shall be free of any rust or corrosion, dirt and other foreign matter. All surfaces shall be free from sharp edges or burrs. Components shall not be fractured, cracked, buckled, loose, dented, missing, malformed or misaligned.
13、4. VERIFICATION 4.1 Classification of inspections. The inspection requirements specified herein are classified as follows: a. First article inspection (see 4.2). b. Conformance inspection (see 4.3). 4.2 First article inspection. When a first article is required (see 3.1 and 6.2), it shall be examine
14、d for the defects specified in 4.6 and 4.7. Any nonconformance shall be cause for the rejection of the first article. 4.3 Conformance Insnection. Conformance inspection shall include the examinations of 4.6 and 4.7. 4.4 Component and material inspection. In accordance with 4.1, components and materi
15、als shall be inspected in accordance with all the requirements of referenced documents unless otherwise excluded, amended, modified, or qualified in this specification or applicable purchase document. 4.5 In-process inspection. Inspection of subassemblies shall be made to ascertain that construction
16、 details which cannotebe examined in the finished product are in accordance with specified requirements. Whenever nonconformance is noted, correction shall be made to affected items and process. Items that cannot be corrected shall be removed from the process. The Government reserves the right to ex
17、clude from consideration for acceptance, any material or service for which in- process inspection has indicated nonconformance. 4.6 End item visual examination. The end items, defined as completely fabricated units of the Truss Assembly being purchased, shall be examined for the defects listed in ta
18、ble I. The lot size shall be expressed in units of Truss Assemblies. The sample unit shall be one Truss assembly. Examination of the enditems, defined as completely fabricated units of the Truss Assembly being purchased, shall be examined for conformance to the dimensions specified on the drawings. Any dimensions not within the specified toleranc
22、e shall be classified as a defect. The lot size shall be expressed in units of Truss Assemblies. The sample unit shall be one Truss Assembly. The finding of any defect shall be cause for the rejection of the lot. 5. PACKAGING 5.1 Packaainq. For acquisition purposes, the packaging requirements shall
23、be as specified in thecontract or order (see 6.2). When actual packaging of material is to be performed by DoD personnel, these personnel need to contact the responsible packaging activity to ascertain requisite packaging requirements. Packaging requirements are maintained by the Inventory Control P
24、oints packaging activity within the Military Department or Defense Agency, or within the Military Departments System Command. Packaging data retrieval is available from the managing Military Departments or Defense Agencys automated packaging files, CD-ROM products, or by contacting the responsible p
