This specification covers the general requirementsand tests for the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) part of the ImprovedLifting Target Elevating Mechanism (ILTEM) and the Target HoldingMechanism/Tank Gunnery (THWTG) for the Remote Target System (RETS)(see 6.1).2. The electronic control unit shall bemanufactured in accordance w

Where applicable, the ECU shallmeet the requirements of MIL-F-13926 as follows:a. Dimensions and tolera

12、ncesb. Inorganic protective surface finishingsworkmanship: Part identification and marking3.3 Environmental requirements.3.3.1 Vibration.3.3.1.1 Non-operatinq. The ECU shall meet the requirements of3.5.1.1 through 3.5.2.7 after having been subjected to MIL-STD-81O,;Method 514, Procedure 1-3.3.1 usin

13、g Figure 514.4-1 for one hour ofrandom vibration along the vertical axis.3.3.2 Temperature.3.3.2.1 on-operatinq (storaqe. The ECU shall not sufferpermanent damage when subjected to at least four hours at eachtemperature extreme of -40 deqrees F and +160 degrees F and shallmee”the requirements of 3.5

14、.i.l through 3.5.2.i when returned toand thermally stabilized at ambient temperature (+60 degrees F to+90 degrees F).e3.3.2.2 OPeratinq. The ECU shall resetthe requirements of3.5.1.1 through 3.5.2.7 when thermally stabilized at -25 degreesand 125 degrees F.F3.3.3 Pressure and water tiqht test. The E

15、CU shall not showany signs of bubbles from any surface part when submerged in a tankof water and dry nitrogen pressurized to 1.5 to 2 PSI for 5 minutes.It shall meet the requirements of 3.5.1.1 through 3.5.2.7.3.4 Construction.3.4.1 General description. The Electronic Control Unit (ECU)responds to t

16、arget commands, operating relays that raise or lower anarmored vehicle target and fire the gunfire simulator (GUFS). TheECU is a sealed operating unit containing circuit cards and isoperated through connectors and switches on the front panel.3.4.1.1 Front panel. The front panel contains seven connec

17、torswith robber waterproof covers, two rotary switches, one t0991eswitch and a battery ljght indicator.3.4.1.1.1 Connectors. Four connectors are used to input targethit information from four hit sensors attached to the targets. Theremaining three connectors are used for the visual hit indicatorlamp,

The rotary switch marked “Punction”has seven Dositions with the first Dosition turnina the ECU on and a71positi

19、ons two through seven providi;g selectable mdes varying target raising and lowering functions. The second rotary switchprovides four positions to vary hit sensor sensitivity, depending onammunition type used.3.4.1.1.3 Toqqle switch. The togglecapability of target raising and loweringindicator lamp o

20、perating functions.switch provides a testand the visual hit3.4.1.1.4 Battery lamp indicator. The battery lamp indicatorprovides the battery voltage condition during target raising orlowering operations. r,3.4.1.2 Electronic components. The inner electronics consistsof three printed circuit cards and

21、 six relays.3.4.1.2.1 Circuit cards. The three circuit cards consists of alogic control card, a hit amplification card, and a battery testcard.3.4.1.2.2 Relays. The six relays controls the hydrauliclifting unit, visual hit indicator lamp, smoke scorer, and thegunfire simulator.3.4.2 Construction. Th

22、e ECU shall conform to the requirementsdrawings and notes contained in technical data package 11784504. a713.5 Performance requirements.3.5.1 Test switch.3.5.1.1 Raise tarqet. The test switch is placed in the raiseposition and a signal is generated to raise the target and to turnon the visual hit in

23、dicator lamp. The target will remain in araised position until a lower target signal is received. The visualhit indicator lamp will remain lit for as long as test switch isheld in position. The up-valve relay will disengage 2 1 secondsafter the motor relay disengages.3.5.1.2 Lower tarqet. The test s

24、witch is placed in the lowerposition and a signal is generated to lower the target. The down-valve relay shall disengage 2 1 seconds after motor relaydisengages.3.5.2 Function switches.3.5.2.1 Position zero. Position zero will perform as an offswitch and shall remove all electrical power from the EC

The target will be raised and lowered byremote signal and hit signals from the hit sensor will have noeffect on the target position. The smoke scorer relay w

26、ill activatefor 2 1 seconds after a hit.3.5.2.3 POSitiOn tWO. The target will be raised and lowered byremote signal and hit signals from the hit sensor will lower thetarget until another signal to raise the target is received. Thesmoke scorer relay will activate for 2 1 seconds after a hit.3.5.2.4 P

27、osition three. The target will be raised and loweredby remote signal and hit signals from the hit sensor shall lower thetarget. The ECU will generate another signal 11 2 seconds afterreceipt of the hit signal to raise the target. The smoke scorerrelay will activate for 2 1 seconds after a hit.3.5.2.

28、5 POSltiOn four. The target will be raised and loweredby remote signal and the visual hit indicator and smoke scorerrelays will operate for 2 1 seconds after a hit. Hit signals fromthe hit sensor will have no effect on target position.3.5.2.6 Position five. The target will be raised and loweredby re

29、mote signal. Hit signals from the hit sensor will operate thevisual hit indicator lamp and smoke scorer relays for 2 1 secondsand lower the target until another signal to raise the target isreceived.3.5.2.7 Position six. The target will be raised and lowered byremote signal. Hit signals from the hit

30、 sensor will operate thevisual hit indicator lamp and smoke scorer relays for 2 1 seconds.The ECU will generate another signal 11 2 seconds after receipt ofa hit signal to raise the target.3.5.3 Liftinq mechanism failure. Failure of the target tocomDlete raisina or lowerinq ooeration will result in

31、the ECUgenerating a sinal to shut-of the lifting mechanism motor 11 2seconds after raisingllowering motion was initiated.3.5.4 Battery check indicator. The voltage indicator light(LED) will indicate sufficient power is available during raising andlowering of the target to operate the lifting mechani

32、sm. The lightwill remain constant when voltage exceeds 10.5 volts and will flashwhen voltage is equal to 10.5 -0.1 volts.3.5.5 Tarqet sensitivity limit switch. The target sensitivitylimit switch will oDerate indeDendentlv of the function switch orsensitivity switch ny assembly,component or test spec

33、imenany f the applicable requirements, the firstarticle sample shall be rejected. The Government reserves the rightto terminate its inspection upon any failure of any assembly,component or test specimen to comply with any of the requirements.4.4 Quality conformance inspection.o 4.4.1 Inspection lot

34、formation. 35、nformance with applicable requirements. Units ofproduct selected for inspection shall represent only the inspectionlot from which they are drawn and shall not be construed to a71represent any prior or subsequent quantities presented forinspection. Homogeneity shall be considered to exist provided th

36、einspection lot has been produced by one manufacturer, in oneunchanged process, using the same materials and methods, inaccordance with the same drawings, same drawing revisions, samespecifications and same specification revisions. All materialsubmitted for inspection in accordance with this specifi

37、cation shallcomply with the homogeneity criteria specified herein, regardless ofthe type of inspection procedure which is being applied to determineconformance with requirements.4.4.2 Examinations and tests.4.4.2.1 Components, assemblies and subassemblies.The contractors quality program or detailed

38、inspectionplan sha;l provide assurance of compliance of all characteristicswith the applicable drawingsand specifications utilizing as aminimum the conformance criteria specified in this document and theQuality Assurance Provisions (QAP) listed in the Technical DataPackage (TDP). In the absence of Q

39、APtS, the applicable qualityassurance provisions of MIL-F-13926 shall apply.b. Alternative inspection procedures, methods or equipment,such as statistical process control, tool control, other types of a71sampling procedures, etc., may be used by the contractor when theyprovide, as a minimum, the lev

40、el of quality assurance required bythe provisions specified herein. Prior to applying such alternativeprocedures, methods, or equipment, the contractor shall describethem in a written proposal submitted to the procuring contractingofficer for evaluation and approval by the Government. Whenrequired,

41、the contractor shall demonstrate that the effectiveness ofthe proposed alternative(s) is equal to or better than the specifiedquality assurance provisions herein. In cases of dispute as towhether the contractors proposed alternative(s) provide equalassurance, the provisions of this specification sha

42、ll apply. Al1approved alternative inspection provisions shall be specificallyincorporated into the contractors quality program plan or detailedinspection system, as applicable.4.4.2.2 Final acceptance inspection. Subsequent to firstarticle approval, examinations and tests related to Section 3 herein

43、shall be performed on a single defect (individual characteristic)basis in accordance with the sampling plans specified in 4.4.2.3herein. Examination and test for packaging and marking shall be inaccordance with Section s herein. The tabulated classification ofdefects in 4.4.2.3 shall constitute the
