SCOPE 1.1 This s

2、pecification covers the loading, assembling and packing for one type of fuze designated as Fuze., Mine, Comb inat ion, M6 O 5. 2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS 2.1 The following documents of the issue in effect on date of invitation for bids, or request for proposals, form a part of this specification to the

6、 - Propellant charge (Copies of specifications, standards, drawings and publications required by contractors in connection with specific procurement functions should be obtained from the procuring activity or as directed by the contracting officer. ) 3. REQUIREMENTS (see 6.7) 3.1 Material. - Materia

7、ls and parts shall be in accordance with applicable drawings and specifications. 3.2 Fuze assembly. - The mine fuze assembly shall comply with all requirements specified on Drawing (dwg.) 7548284 and with all requirements specified in applicable specifications. 3.3 Moisture content of black powder.

8、- The moisture content of the black powder at the time of loading shall not exceed the amount specified in MIL-P-223. 3.4 Moisture content of delay composition. - The moisture content of the delay composition at the time of 1oadi.ng shall not exceed 0.04 percent. 3.5 Punctioninq. - The fuze shall fu

9、nction satisfactorily (see 6.5) and shall function with a delay time of not less than 1.0 second nor more than 2.0 seconds (see 6.6). 10、rmitted without license from IHS-,-,-MIL-F-12774D 23 7779706 0274425 4 = MIL-P-12774D (PA) 3.7 Workmanship. - All parts and assemblies shall be fabricated and loaded in .a thorough, workmanl5ke manner. They shall be free of burrs, sharp edges, cracks, chips, dirt, corrosion products and other foreig

11、n material. The cleaning method used shall not be injurious to any of the parts nor shall the parts be contaminated by the cleaning agent. Exterior surface coatings shall be continuous except for a few slight scratches not exposing base material. All required markings shall be neat and sharply defin

12、ed. 3.8 First article inspection. - This specification contains technical Drovisions for first article insDection. Reauirements for the submission of first article samples by the contractor shall be as specified in the contract. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS . S4. Responsibility for Inspection and

13、 Standard Quality Assurance Pro-visons. - Unless otherwise specifie herein or in the contract, the provisions of MIL-Am48078 shall awly -“ - and are hereby made a-part of this detail specification. The following certifications are required: a. Certificate of conformance denoting primer composition a

14、nd the drying procedure as per Dwg. 7548287 shall be furnished with each lot submitted for acceptance. b . Certificate of conformance denoting drying procedure of the flash igniter head assembly in the event of excess ex- posure as per Dwg. 7548286 shall be furnished with each lot submitted for acce

15、ptance. *4.2 Classification of inspections. - The following types of inspections shall be conducted on this item. a. First Article Inspection. b. Quality Conformance Inspection. 4.3 First Artcle Inspection *4.3.1 Submission. - The contractor shall submit a first article sample (see 6.2b) as designat

16、ed by the Contracting Officer. The first article sample shall consist of fifty (50) consecutively produced complete assemblies. 18、 Quality confoPmanc Inspection 84.4.1 Inspection lot formation. - Inspection lots shall comply with the lot formation provisions of MIL-A-48078. Lot numbering as required shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-1168. In addition, inspection lots of loaded fuzes shall contain: a. Parts of not more than o

19、ne lot interfix number from b. Black powder from not more than one lot. c. Delay composition from one batch or blending of do Primers from not more than one lot interfix number e. Head assemblies from not more than one lot interfix one manufacturer. batches which results in homogeneity of all delay

Unless otherwise specified in the classification of defects and test tables, sampling plans for major or minor defects shall be in accor- dance with MIL-STD-

29、ntent 03 the black power. - (see 3.3) - Major A Defect . -The contractor shall provide adequate controls to assure that the black powder complies with the applicable requirement. For verification, a minimum of one sample of black powder shall be selected at the loading station at the time of loading

30、 from each eight hours of production. A composite sample shall not be used. The test shall be performed as specifTed in 4.5.1. Failure of the sample to comply with the applicable requirement, shall cause the- black powder represented by.the sample, including any fuzes loaded with the non-conforming

31、black powder, to be rejected. The contractor shall maintain adequate records to pro$ide identification of the specific amount of black powder and the loaded items which are represen- ted by the sample. 0404,3.2 Moisture content of delay composition - (see 3.4) - Major A Defect. - The moisture conten

32、t of Dhe delay composition shall be determined at the time of loading not less than once for each eight hours of production or portion thereof. sample shall be selected just prior to loading and the moisture content determination made as specified in 4.5.2. Composite samples shall not be used in thi

33、s determination. content exceeds the requirement specified, the delay composition shall be rejected. If this determination is made after loading has begun, components loaded therewith shall be rejected. Equip- ment used in this determination shall be in accordance with 4.4.4. 34、ctioning - (see 3.5) . -Maj or A Defect. 4.4.3.3.1 Beginning with the first lot produced and continuing until three (3) consecutive lots have complied with the acceptance criteria specified, the sampling plan for this test shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-105 using Code Letter L and an AQL of 0.6

35、5 percent. The test shall be performed as specified in 4.5.3 using equipment in accordance with 4.4,4. Any fuze assembly which fails to function, or fails to,-function within the specified delay time requirements, shall be classed defective. Any fuze which functions in less than li0 second shall cau

36、se the lot to be rejected with no second sampling permitted. Any fuze which fails to function, or whose delay time is lost, shall be replaced in order to determine if the lot complies with the delay time requirement s. * - f - 15 T r Provided by IHSNot for ResaleNo reproduction or networking permitt

37、ed without license from IHS-,-,-MIL-F-12774D (PA) 4.4.3.3.2 After three (3) consecutive lots have met the criteria of 4.4.3.3.1, the sampling plan for this test shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-105 using Code Letter J and an AQL of 0.65 percent. *4.4.304 Waterproofness of head assembly - (see 3.6

38、) - Major A Defect.-The sampling plan for this test shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-105, Code Letter J, double sampling plan and an AQL of 4. percent. Twenty-five (25) assemblies shall be subjected to the pull test and twenty-five (25) to the pressure test. The test shall be performed as specifi

39、ed in 4.5.4 using equipment in accordance with 4.4.4. to meet the specified requirement shall be classed defective Any assembly failing 4.4.3.5 Check test for possible deterioration of primers - Major A defect. - If the total elapsed time between the orininal acceptance of any primer lot and the ass

40、embly of that lot iito the fuze exceeds two years, or if the primers have been subjected to adverse conditions for any period of time since previous test, the primer lot shall be subjected to and must satisfactorily pass the check test for possible deterioration specified in MIL-P- 20444 immediately

41、 before the assembly of primer lot into the fuzes. This test shall be performed by the contractor on primers selected by the Government inspector at the facility assembling the primer lot into the fuzes and shall be conducted at Government expense without cost to the contractor assembling the primer

42、s into the fuzes. Furthermore, this test shall not constitute a basis of rejection against either contractor, except where deterioration has occurred as a direct result of carelessness in handling, storage, etc., permitted while the primer lot was under the jur- isdiction of either contractor. *4.4.

43、4 Inspection Equipment. - The inspection equipment re- quired to perform the inspections and tests prescribed in this specification is identified in the “Paragraph Reference/Inspection Method“ column in the tables starting with paragraph 4.4.2.1, and the test method paragraphs (see 4.5). The contrac

44、tor shall submit for approval, inspection equipment designs in accordance with the terms of the contract. See Section 6 of MIL-A-48078, and section 6.3 herein. 4.5 Test methods and procedures - (see 6.7) 4.5.1 Moisture content of black powder. - The moisture content of the black powder shall be dete

45、rmined as specified in MIL-P-223. 46、d as specified in MIL-C-13739 4.5.3 Functioning. - The assembly shall be kept with the prongs pointed upward, and shall be maintained at 70 plus or minus 20 degrees Fahrenheit (F.) at all times during the test procedure. The fuze assembly shall be assembled to the propelling charge (dwg. no. 8796343

47、) and the test fixture specified on dwg. no. 8792739 and functioned to determine compliance with 3.5. primer housing and igniter,assembly shall be submerged in an up- right position in water with prongs no less than 6 inches below the surface for a minimum of 24 hours. the fuze assembly shall be sha

48、ken lightly to remove external water, then placed in a cold cabinet in an upright position and conditioned at minus 40 degrees Fahrenheit minimum for 6 hours minimum. Immed- iately after removal from the cold cabinet, the release pin, inter- locking safety pin, and the striker safety pinshall be removed in that order, pull, not to exceed i5 pounds, applied at a rate of one foot maximum per minute, to the release spring parallel to the axis of the release pin.
