Requi rements for the submission of first 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE
12、 PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for Inspection. - Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase orde-r, the supplier is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract or order, the supplier may use his own or
13、any other faci 1 i ties sui table for the performance of the inspection requi rements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government re- serves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the speci- fication where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure s
14、upplies and servi ces conform to prescribed requi remnts . 4.1.1 Submission of Product. - At the time each completed lot of items deliverable under the contract is submitted to the Government for acceptance. the contractor shall supply the fol lowing information accompanied by a cer- tificate which
15、attests that the information provided is correct and appli- cable to the product being submitted: a. A statement that .the lot complies with all of the quality assur- b. 18、ill not be required with subsequent certificates unless, during the course of the contract, this authority is vested in another agent of the certifying organization. 4.1.2 Use of Simulated Defect Standards. - If automatic radiographic inspection equipment is used, it shall be validated hourly using
19、Design Agency approved standards contai ni ng simulated defects and supplied by the contractor. 20、e contractor shall re-supply the i tem standards when it is determined by the Government that the standards are no longer representat i ve of the product. 4.1.3 Undetected Defect Standards. - Provis ions shal for the corrective action to be taken where the equipment a standard as a defective. 21、provisions shall include of all acceptable material subsequent to the last acceptab check as a minimum, 4.2 First Article Insbection be es tab 1 i shed ails to identify a re-inspection e veri fication 4.2.1 Submission. - The contractor shall submit a first article sample consistina of fifty (50) fuz
22、e assemblies (with live booster) to be subiected (with live booster) to be subjected to ballistic firing in the “Delay“ mode. This sample is submitted to a Government approved facility as designated by the Contracting Officer (see 6.4) for evaluation in accordance with the pro- visions of 4.2.2. All
23、 parts and materials shall be the sam as will be used in regular production and shall be obtained from the same source of supply. Prior to submission, the sample shall be inspected by the contractor to the degree necessary to assure that it conforms to the requirements of the con- tract . 4.2.2 Insp
24、ections to be Performed. - Each fuze assembly and component shall be subjected by the Government to any or all of the examinations or tests specified in 4,3.2 and 4.3.3 of this specification and any or all re- qui rements of the appl icable drawings. 4.2.3 Rejection of First Article Sample. - If any
25、 fuze, sub-assembly or component fa 1s to comply with the applicable requi rements, the first article sample shall be rejected. The Government reserves the right to ter- minate its inspection upon any failure of a fuze, sub-assembly or component in the sample to comply with any of the specified requ
26、irements. In the event of rejection, the Government reserves the right to require the con- tractor to take corrective action and submit a new first article sample or portion thereof. Until a first article sample is accepted, the contractor is in no way authorized by the Government to initiate regula

28、inspection lot“ as used in this spec- ification is defined as an essentially homogeneous collection of units of product Prom which a representative sample is drawn anel inspected to deter- mine conformance with appli cable requi rements. The sanple selected shall represent only that quantity of unit
29、s from which the sample was drawn and shall not be construed to represent any prior or subsequent quantities pre- sented for i nspectisn. Homogene ty shall be cons idered to exist provi ded the inspection lot has been produced by one manufacturer, in one unchanged process, in accordance with the sam
30、e drawing, same draiing revision, same specification and same specification revision and complies with the provi- sions for submission of product as specified in Mit-STD-105. Changes to the process, specification or drawing not affecting safety, performance, interchangeability or storage, as determi
31、ned by the Government, shall not be deemed to alter the homogeneity of an inspection lot. All material sub- mitted for inspection in accordance with this specification shall comply with the homogeneity criteria specified herein regardless of the type of sampling procedure which is being applied to d
32、etermine conformance with requi rements. Lot nuhering, as requi red, shall be in accordance with MI L-STD-1168. Each inspection lot of loaded fuzes shall contain: a. 33、m not more than one lot or lots (dwg. 8883684). homogeneous blend of lots (dwg. 8883685). 4.3.2 Examination. - The examinations listed in the following sub-para- graphs shall be performed on inspection lots (see 4.3.1) of the components or assemblies designated in the applicable paragraph headi ngs.
34、 Inspection for Critical Defects (and Major Defects, when so specified) shall be 100 percent. Sampling plans for Major and Minor Defects shall be in accordance with MIL- STD-105 except that continuous .saw1 i ng plans i n accordance with MI L-STD-1235 may be used if approved by the .Government. desi
35、gnated herein to the groups of Major and Minor Defects listed, the con- tractor may elect to apply AQLs to individual defects using an AQL of 0.40 percent for each Major Defect and an AQL of 0.65 percent for each Minor Ue- fect. When this method is elected, it shall be applied to all of the Major an
36、d Minor Defects listed in the applicable sub-paragraph of this section, except where 100 percent inspection is specified, and be documented as part of the contractors inspection system. The contractor shall design inspection equipment in accordance with the instructio
47、ns of Paragraph 6.3. 4.3.4.1 Government Rights to Documentation. - Inspection equipment drawings and lists provided and revised in accordance with the requirements of the ET may be used by DOD activities for design, procurement, manufacture, PPi ng 9 main- testing, evaluation, production and receivi
48、ng inspection, overhaul, sh storage of replacement parts, inspection of i tems at overhaul, general tenance of equipment, construction, survey and whenever inspection equ draw i ngs a re needed. 4.4 Test Methods and Procedures pmen t 4.4.1 Radiographic Inspection. - Fuzes chal 1 be radiographed perp
49、en- dicular to the longitudinal axis. Inspection for armed or partially armed fuzes and inspection for broken or missing components may be made simul- taneously. 4.4.2 Booster Functioning. - The assembled fuze shall be armed on a centrifuge by application of 40.0 gravities gis“ maximum for a minimum of three (3) seconds which simulates a rocket launching.
