16、bed in the Paragraph Reference/Inspection Methd column in the tables starting with Paragraph 4.4.2.1. The contractor shall submit for approval inspection equipment.decignc in accordance with the terms of the contract. See Section 6 of MIL-A-48078 anil 6.3 herein. Quality Conformance Inspection table
17、s. 4.4.4 4.5 Test methods and procedures. 4.5.1 Dimensional control of cast parts. - In place of the normal sampling associated with the Classification of Defects, and with the approval of the Contracting Officer, a sample of at least five (5) parts (as cast) from each cavity shall be dimensionally
18、inspected to qualify a new or reworked cavity for use in production or as a control of the cavity during production. Inspection for control of each cavity during production shall be performed on the above quantities from each cavity after production of 500 parts. Individual cavity identification sha
19、ll be provided. % If any defective parts are found during qualification of the cavity, the cavity producing the defective part will not be used in production. If any defective parts are found when inspection is performed for control of the cavity, the cavity producing the defective part shall be rem
20、oved from productim. Further, that portion of production since the last control check shall he returned to the contractor for corrective action. All cavities formerly removed from production because of some fault, may, after reworking, be returned to production providing they pass the qualification
21、test as above. The contractor may request a change of inspection frequency providing he presents objective evidence to substantiate the request to the Contracting Officer . 4.5.2 Salt spray test. - Five (5) of enah specified part shall be selected from each lot and subjected to the salt spray test i
22、n accordance with the procedures specified ir. ASTM B 117. The irrinimiin exposure time shall be one and one half (1 112) hours using a 5% sodium chloride solution. If any part f4ih ta o

The harnesw test shall be performed in accordance with the procedure speuifbd in ASTM 8 18. - NOTE - A heat-treatment batoh shall be defined as parts that have been heat treat
25、ed at the same time in the same furnace and quench bath for each of all phases of the entire heat treatment process. 4.5.4 Functioninp. - Lhe assemblies selected for the functioning test shall be assembled to the .50 Caliber M2 Heavy Barrel, Machine gun, Government standard Caliber -50, M1E1 blank a
