SCOPE 1.1 Scope - This specification establishes the requirements and quality assurance provisions for the manufacture and acceptance of parts and assemblies for the XM764 fuze used in the Cartridge,

REQUIREMENT

18、S 3.1 Materials - Materials and finishes shall be in accordance with the applicable drawings and specifications. 3.2 Piece parts and assemblies - The piece parts and assemblies shall comply with all requirements specified on drawings and specifications ref ere-nced herd n . f .- *. 3.3 Release mecha

19、nism assembly - All release mechanism assemblies shall be tested for arming and non-arming. 3.3.1 Non-Arming - The release mechanism assembly shall not arm when subjected to a minimum centrifuge acceleration of 2,000 gravities when tested per 4.5,2.1 . 3.3.2 Arming - The release mechanism assembly s

20、hali arm when subjected to a maximum centrifuge acceleration of 4,000 gravities when tested per 4.5.2.2. 3.4 Setback generator assembly - A magnet removed from a setback generator assembly shall have a residual magnetic flux density of 400 Gauss minimum when tested per 4.5.3. 3.5 Housing and mechani

21、sm assembly 3.5.1 S2a switch overtravel - The S2 switch fork shall be driven 0.03 inches minimum beyond the initial S2a switch closure position when the rotor moves to the safe position as defined in 4.5.4.1. 3.5.2 Second environment safety - The drag mass pin shall capture the limit pin and shall b

24、on-function - The fuze shall not produce an explosive output prior to eleven meters from the cannon muzzle when tested as specified ,;n 4.5.5.3. 3.6.2 Function - The fuze shall not produce an explosive output before impact and shall produce an explosive output within two-tenths milliseconds (0.2 mse

25、c) after target impact when tested as specified in 4.5.5.4. 3.7 Operating range 3.7.1 Arming range - The fuze shall arm between 11 and 30 meters from the cannon muzzle with 50 percent minimum arming by 20 meters when tested per 4.5.6. 3.7.2 Function range - The fuze shall be capable of initiating an

26、 explosive output from the point of fuze arming until four and two-tenths seconds (4.2 sec) after launch. 3.8 Envi ronmental requirements 3.8.1 1.5 meter drop - The fuze shall remain locked in the initial safe position when tested per 4.5.7. 3.8.2 Twelve meter drop - The lead shall not be charred, b

27、urnt or detonated when tested per 4.5.8. 28、 9799906 0353004 3 MIL-F-63499 (AR) 3.9 Embrittlement of springs - Springs shall not break when tested per 4.5.16. 3.8.4 Jumble - The fuze shall meet the safety requirements of MIL-STD- 331, test number 102.1, and the rotor shall remain locked in the safe position when tested per 4.5.10. 3.8.5 Extre

29、me temperature storage - The fuze sha?l not produce a premature explosive output and shall meet the functional requirements of 3.6.2 when tested per 4.5.11. 3.8.6 Thermal shock - The fuze shall not produce a premature explosive output and shall meet the functional requirements of 3.6.2 when tested p

30、er 4.5.12. 3.8.7 Transportation vibration-temperature - The fuze shall remain locked in the initial safe position and shall not produce a premature explosive output and shall meet the functional requirements of 3.6.2 when tested per 4.5.13. 3.10 First article inspection - This specification contains

31、 technical provisions for first article inspection. Requirements for the submission of first article samples shall be as specified in the contract. 3.11 Workmanship - All parts shall be fabricated and finished in a thoroughly workmanlike manner. Except as otherwise specif fed, the parts shall be fre

32、e of cracks, scratches, burrs, dents, gouges, surface defects or any surface discontinuities. The items, subassemblies and piece parts shall be free from dirt, chips, grease, corrosion, and other foreign material. The cleaning method used shall not be injurious to any part nor shall the parts be con

33、taminated by the cleaning agen. Cleaned parts and assemblies shall be stored in clean, fiber-free, closed containers. Al 1 required markings shall be neat and Tegible. Exterior surface coatings shall be continuous. 3.11.1 Soldering - Soldered connections shalT have a smooth bright appearance with me

See MIL-STD-454, 3.11.2 Molded components - Soundness of the material shall be in accordance with the applicable drawings and specifications. All molded components shall be free of blisters, cracks, checks, inclusions, scratches, voids, and an

36、y surface or internal defect which may detrimentally affect serviceability or appearance in the judgment of the appropriate technical agency. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for inspection - Unless otherwise specified herein or in the contract, the provisions of MIL-A-48078 shall

37、apply and are hereby made a part of this specification. 4.2 Classification of inspections - The inspection requirements speci- fied herein are classified as follows: a. First article inspection b. Quality conformance inspection 4.3 First article inspection 4.3.1 Submission - The contractor shall sub

38、mit a first article sample, as designated by the contracting officer, for first article tests. The sample shall consist OP parts which have been produced by the contractor or furnished by a supplier which have been manufactured using the same production processes, procedures, molds, dies and equipme

39、nt which will be used in fulfilling the contract. All parts and materials, including packaging and packing, shall be obtained from the same sources of supply as will be used in regular production. A first article sample or portion thereof, as directed by the contracting officer, shall also be submit

If the requirements of 3.7.1 are not satisfied by the results of the arming range test, the first article shall be referred to the Contracting Off i Cer for di sposi

45、ti on. 4.3.5 Process controls and plans - The contractor is advised to prepare writen general manufacturing and inspection plans for review by the Government technical agency at the time of the first article submission. When prepared, plans should be updated quarterly; or, as found necessary by the

46、contractor (see 6.3) . 4.4 Quality conformance inspection 4.4.1 Lot formation - Lots shall comply with lot formation provisions of MIL-A-48078. In addi tion, inspection lots shall contain: a. Electrical components bearing the same lot interfix number from one manufacturer. b. Detonator and contact a

47、ssemblies from one lot number from one manufacturer . c. Springs from the same heat treat batch number from one lot number from one manufacturer. d. PBXN-5 from one lot number from one manufacturer. I- 4.4.1.1 Fuze lot - A fuze lo which is assigned a lot number by MIL-STD- 1168 shall contain a minim

48、um of one thousand fuzes. A fuze lot thus def ned shall be used as the basis for the selection of ballistic test samples. 4.4.2 Examination - Unless otherwise specified, examination for critical, major and minor defects shall be perforned in accordance with the classification of defects given in Tab
