REQUI
8、REMENTS. 3.1 Material. Materials shall comply with the applicable drawings and specifications listed thereon. 3.2 Components and assemblies. The components and assemblies shall comply with all requirements specified on Drawing 9298733 and associated drawings and with all requirements specified in ap
9、plicable specifications and standards. 3.3 Molded parts. All molded parts shall be identified as to 3.4 Fuzes (less expulsion charge and less delay assembly). the mold cavity from which they were made. All fuzes, less expulsion charge, less delay assembly shall comply with MIL-F-50541 with the excep
10、tion that classification of defects (CD) 4.4.2.2 and 4.4.2.3 will be deleted and applicable (CD) in Section 4 of this document will be substituted in their place. 3.5 Expulsion delay time. The expulsion delay time of the M442 Fuze shall have a minimum of 8.0 seconds and a maximum of 10.0 seconds bet
11、ween 500 and 90F. The expulsion delay time shall commence upon firing of the fuze primer and end when expulsion charge fires. with the requirements in 3.5 after being subjected to the following environmental conditions. 3.6 Environment. The M442 Fuze shall function in compliance 3.6.1 High temperatu
12、re. The M442 Fuze shall function as specified after subjection to high temperature (140F), Procedure I, Method 501, of MIL-STD-810. The expulsion delay time shall be obtained for informational purposes only. 3.6.2 Low temperature. The M442 Fuze shall function as specified after subjection to low tem
13、perature (-25OF), Procedure I, Method 501, of MIL-STD-810. The expuision delay timeshall be obtained for informational purposes only. 3.6.3 Five-foot drop. The M442 Fuze shall remain safe to . handle and function as specified after subjection to the 5 drop test procedure 1 (simulated warhead drop) a
14、s specified in MIL-STD-331. 3.6.4 Vibration. 15、3.7 Safety tests. The M442 Fuze shall remain safe to handle and disp se of after being subjected to the following tests. The disassembled fuze shall display the following conditions: a. No loose explosive shall be present. b. No explosive shall have burned or detonated. c. The rotor pin shall be in
16、place. d. The setback sleeve shall be in the safe position. 3.7.1 Jolt. The M442 Fuze shall be subjected to and must withstand the Jolt Test as specified in MIL-STD-331. 3.7.2 Jumble. The M442 Fuze shall be subjected to and must withstand the Jumble Test as specified in MIL-STD-331. 3.7.3 Forty-foot
17、 drop. The M442 Fuze shall be subjected to and must withstand the Forty-foot Drop Test procedure II (packaged drop) as specifiedin MIL-STD-331. 3.8 Workmanship. All parts and assemblies shall be free from burrs, chips, sharp edges, cracks, unblended radii, surface defects, dirt, grease, rust, porosi
18、ty, warpage, burn marks, checks, blisters, excess flash corrosion products, and other foreign matter. The cleaning method used shall not be injurious to any. part nor shall the parts be contaminated by the cleaning agents. Surface coating shall be continuous except for a few slight scratches not exp
19、osing base material. The loading and assembly operations shall be performed in a thorough workmanlike manner consistent with the best practices of the industry. All required marking shall be neat and sharply defined. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS. 4.1 Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwis
20、e specified in the contract, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract, the contractor may use his own or any other facilities suitable for performance of the inspection requirements specified h
21、erein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. Unless otherwise specified herein.or in the

MIL-F-70673 (AR) 4.1.1 Responsibility for compliance. All items must meet all requirements of Sections
23、3 and 5. The inspection set forth in this specification shall become a part of the cntractors overall inspection system or quality program. The absence of any inspection requirements in .the specification shall not relieve the contractor of the responsibility of assuring that all products or supplie
24、s submitted to the Government for acceptance comply with all requirements of the contract. Sampling in quality conformance does not authorize submission of known defective material, either indicated or actual, nor does it commit the Government to acceptance of defective material. 4.2 Classification
25、of inspections. The following types of inspection shall be conducted on this item: a. First Article Inspection b. Inspections lots shall comply with the lot formation provisions of MIL-A-48078. In addition, inspection lots of fuzes shall contain: a. Metal parts (

Plastic parts from not more than two lots with the same interfix number from one manufacturer. c. Mechanical fuzes per MIL-F-50541 from not more than one lot. d. D

39、inq test. The fuze assembly assembled in test tool (P/N 9335672) and mounted on acceleration fixture (P/N 9335670) shall be accelerated on a centrifuge to 35.0 gravities (gs) plus or minus one (i) g for a minimum of 1.5 seconds. The fuze will normally fire upon a decrease in acceleration to 15.0 gs
40、or below after arming at 35.0 gs. After the fuze has fired, and after the required expulsion delay time has elapsed, the expulsion charge shall fire, The expulsion charge output shall shear the shear pins with such force as to break-away the insert from the motor adapter or completely expel the payl
41、oad. A fuze which was armed but has not fired or a fuze that has fired, but without expulsion charge firing, shall be handled with approved safety method to prevent injury. Any fuzethat fails to function or exhibits improper delay time (see 3.4 and 3.5) or fails to shear the pins, shall be classed d
42、efective. 4.6 Fuze Environmental and safety tests. 4.6.1 Jolt. The M442 Fuze shall be attached to the jolt machine in the following manner: to support (clamp) lid relative to the case. The fuze will be clamped around its cylindrical diameter (about 1 1/2 inches) in a split-block manner. The aluminum
43、 saddle clamp will be made to produce a .O005 in. diametral interface on the plastic case of the fuze for a length of two (2) inches. The contractor may employ pins, that partially and loosely enter holes, notches, etc. to help keep the fuze in the clamp but do not support the lid relative to the ca
44、se. The fuze assembly in this confinement shall be subjected to and pass the Jolt Test as specified in MIL-STD-331. The same fuze assembly shall then be subjected to the Jumble Test in 4.5.8. If one or more fuzes fail to meet the test requirements, the lot shall be rejected. The mounting will not be
45、 such as 4.6.2 Jumble. The M442 Fuze without any fixturing shall be subjected to and pass the Jumble Test as specified in MIL-STD-331. If one or more fuzes fail to meet the test requirements, the lot shall be rejected. 4.6.3 Forty-foot drop. The M442 Fuze shall be assembled into simulated Warhead, 2
46、.75 Inch Rocket, M257 Flare, inert loaded as described in Figures 1 and 2. The warhead shall be packaged and packed in accordance with Drawings 8883478 and 8883479/9230114 and subjected to and pass the Forty-foot test as specified in MIL-STD-331. If one or more fuzes are found to be in an unsafe con
47、dition, the lot shall be rejected. The M442 Fuze shall be subjected to and pass low temperature environment in accordance with Low
48、 Temperature Procedure I at -250F, Method 502, of MIL-STD-810 with the exception that the time of exposure to temperature shall be a minimum of four (4) hours. The fuze shall be armed and fired in accordance with 4.5 within 5 minutes of removal from extreme temperature. The expulsion delay time shal
49、l be obtained for informational purposes only. Any fuze that fails to function, or fails to shear the pins, shall be classed defective and handled with an approved safety method to prevent injury. 4.6.5 Hiqh temperature. The M442 Fuze shall be subjected to and pass high temperature environment in accordance with High Temperature Procedure I at 140F, Method 501, of MIL-STD-810 with the exception that the time of exposure to temperature shall be a minimum of four (4) hours. The fuze shall be armed and fired in accordance with 4.5 within 5 minutes of removal from
