2、 the Army, and is available for use by all Departments and Agencies of the Department of Defense. 1. SCOPE 1.1 Scope. This specification covers air-droppable and air transportable heavy duty pneumatic-tired, diesel-engine-driven, 6-wheel, 4-wheel drive, front- wheel steer, articulated frame steer mo

3、tor graders. 1.2 Classification. The graders shall be of the following types, as specified (see 6.2): Type I Type II - Sectionalized (Air Transportable, Air- - Nowsectionalized (Air Transporable and Air-droppable). droppable, and Helicopter Transportable). 2. The grader and attachments shall withstand the us

32、eage encountered in military operations such as rough and fine grading, ditching, high bank cutting, and sloping, grading in reverse and scarifying. The grader shall withstand crossing roadless rough terrain, including gullies causing the tandems to oscillate inboth directions, fording streams, and

33、negotiating steep lontitudinal and sidehill slopes, without damage. The grader shall be capable of driving at maximum travel speed in transport, being towed by another vehicle, and limited towing of other equipment. 3.9.1 Environmental condition Without the use of -any external means, equip- ped wit

34、h only standard and optional equipment, the engine shall start within five (5) minutes and the gr r shall operate under full-load conditons within fifteen (15) minutes after ine start in any ambient temperature from minus 25 F to plus 120 F. The grader shall develope a blade pull of not less than 16,000 pounds at 2 plus or minus 112 mph, at the specified operating weight, on a dry, level, concrete surface, with no more than 15 percent slip factor. 3.9.4 Stability. The grader s

37、hall negotiate 35 percent side slopes and 60 percent longitudinal slopes without any wheel of the grader losing contact with the ground. is operating under these conditions. 41、uel tank. The fuel tank shall be of a type regularly furnished as standard equipment with a capacity for 10 hours of continuous normal operation. The tank shall be equipped with a means for draining water and sediment from the bottom of the tank. 3.10.4 Engine side panels. engine side panels with qu
