REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Descri tion - The engin5 generator set consists of an air-cooled, one cylinder, four stroke *
9、 cyc e, gasoline engine directly operating o 14 pole, permanent magnet generator producing 400 cycle, 115 valt a.c.; a rectifier assembly producing 28 volts d.c.; an automatic recoil rope starter, control panel, voltage regulator, governor, speed adjuster, mufflers and other devices required to achi
10、eve a complete engine generator set; all mounted and arranged fui operation within an occoustical case. 3.2 Procurement model.- A procurement model of the equipment will be availoble for insrlection by prospective bidders and will be lent to the contractor. Unless otherwise . specified herein or in
11、the invitation for bids, tho equipment shall conform to the following: 3.3 Physical construction. Physical construction of the generator set shall conform to the model as specified herein, 3.3.1 Features.- The generator set shall incorporate all features of the model. 3.3.2 Performance. - The contra
12、ctor shall adiust the model tor optimum performance and then shall measure its performance characteristics. Performance of the equipment shall conform to those measurements, except that, in case of conflict between specified performance characteristics and the performance of the model, specified per

18、 of lubricant. 3.6 Engine.- lhe engine shall be gasoline driven, air-cooled, one cylinder, four stroke cymth a continuous duty rating of not less than 1.5 horsepower at a nmil speed of 3600 revolutions per minute. It shall be capable of meeting the requirements specified herein, when operating at a
19、speed rf 3428 R. P. M, when supplied with fuel conforming to Specification MIL-G-3056 or MIL-F-5572. The engine shall meet the lubricating oil consumption test of 4.19. 3.6.1 carburetor. - The engine shall be quipped with a gravity feed carburetor and shall be-adjustable to meet the altitude conditi
20、ons specified herein. 3.6.1.1 Fuel conrum tion. 23、agnet.- The generator used in conjunction with the engine shall meet the following characteristicr: a, Frequency: 400 cycles . b. Poles: 14 C. Speed: 3428 r. p.m. d. Output: 0.5 KW, single and three phase. 3.7.1 SHORT CIRCUIT test. - The generator after subjection to the test of 4.9 shall show no vi
24、sual damage, and shall continue to operate and maintain rated output, 3.7.1 , 1 Overload capacity. The generoor and associated electrical components and circuitry shall maintain without any damage, 125 percent of rated load output for one hour. (See 4.8.1.1). 3.8. 46、O Lt MIL-G-S5123(SigC) 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Contractors reponsibi1ity.- The suFplier is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified, the ,dpp!ier may utiiire his own or any otherinspection facilities and services ac
47、ceptable to the Government. Inspection records of the examination and tests shall be kept complete and available to the Government as specified in the contract, The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necssz
48、ary to assure that supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. 4.2 Classification of inspection.- Inspection shall be classified as follows: (a) Preproduction inspection (does not include preparation for delivery). (See 4.3) (b) Acceptance inspection. (1) Acceptance inspection of equip
49、ment before preparation for dellvery. (See 4.4 and 4.5). 4.3 Preproduction inspection,- This inspection will be performed by the Government unless otherwise specified in the contract. It shall consist of the preproduction inspection specified in table 1, the inspection specified in the subsidiary documents covering the items listed in 4.4, and the inspection specified for group A, group B and group C (see tables
