SCOPE 1.1 Scope. This specification covers commercial, liquid to suction gas heat interchangers

2、 for use with refrigerant 12 (dichlorodifluoromethane) . 1.2 Classification. 12、l be the manufacturers standard comercial product, except for any changes necessary to meet specification requirements. Component parts of the heat interchanger need not be the product of the same manufacturer . 3.3 Codes and standard. Heat interchangers shall conform to the applicable requirements

13、of UL Standard No. 207 (c). * 3.3.1 Certification. Prior to approval of the first article if one is submitted, or prior to comencing production, the supplier shall submit to the contracting officer of his authorized representative satisfactory evidence that the heat interchangers he proposes to furn

14、ish under this specification meet the applicable requirements of UL Standard No. 207 (c). Acceptable evidence of meeting the requirements of this standard shall be the L label, or a UL listing mark certified test report from a recognized independent testing laboratory, indicating that the heat inter

15、changers offered conform to the requirements of UL Standard No. 207 (c). * 3.4 Materials. Materials not definitely specified shall be of the quality normally used by the manufacturer for heat interchangers provided the completed item complies with all provisions of this specification. 3.4.1 Copper.

The heat interchanger shall have the capacities indicated in 1.2 under the conditions specified on MS 17241 (see 4.4.

18、1). * 3.6 Identification marking. The manufacturers name or identifiable trade name, shall be clearly stamped, embossed, or etched on a securely attached corrosion-resistant metal plate. plate, a pressure-sensitive label or waterproofed decalcomania may be used. Whenever nonconformance is noted, correction shall be made to the affected items and lot in process. * 4.3.3 End item inspection. The lot shall consist of all the he

Examination shall be made of the heat interchanger for defects set forth in table I. be level II with an acceptable quality level (AOL) o

39、temperature, with the entering liquid temperature not higher than 100 F. liquid circuit pressure drop shall be negligible. The gas circuit pressure drop shall not exceed 1/4 pound per square inch (psi) at minus 10“ F. evaporating temperature and 1/2 psi at plus 25“ F. evaporating temperature. During

40、 the test, the 5. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY 5.1 Packaging. 5.1.1 Level A. Packaging shall be level A or C as specified (see 6.2). Each heat interchanger shall be packaged in a snug-fitting fiberboard, folding paperboard, or Set-up paperboard box conforming to style RSC (end opening) or FPF, type CF o

41、r SF, class domestic, variety optional of PPP-B-636; style III, type B, class a or style IV, type A or B, class a of PPP-B-566; or type I, grade A, class A, style 2 of PPP-B-676. Closure shall be in accordance with the appendix of the applicable box specification. 5.1.2 Level C. Heat interchangers s

42、hall be packaged in accordance with industrys practice. 5.2 Packing, Packing shall be level A, B, or C as specified (see 6.2). * 5.2.1 Level A. Heat interchangers, packaged as specified in 5.1, shall be packed in the quantity as specified in table III in a snug-fitting fiber- board or nailed wood sh

43、ipping container conforming to style RSC, V3c or V3s of PPP-B-636, except that the weight limitation shall not be exceeded, or class 2, style 2 or 4 of PPP-B-621, respectively. Each fiberboard shipping container shall be closed, waterproofed by means of tape, and reinforced with flat steel strapping

44、 or tape banding in accordance with the appendix of the container specification. Each nailed wood shipping container shall be pro- vided with a type I or II, grade C case liner conforming to MIL-L-10547, and closed and strapped in accordance with the appendix of the container specifi- cat ion. (b) Size required (see 1.2). (c) When a first article is required (see 3.1, 4.2, and 6.3). (d) Selection of applicable levels of packaging and packing (see 5.1 and 5.2). * 6.3 First article. When a first article is required, it shall be inspected a
