In the event of a conflict between the text of this specification and the references cited herein, the text of this

11、 specification shall take precedence. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Materials. Materials and parts shall be in accordance with applicable drawings, specifications and standards. 3.2 Assembly. The igniter, electric match assembly shall comply with all requirements specified on Drawing (dwg.) 9390399, and all a

This item consists of an el

13、ectric squib/match charge to be used for igniting a standard a 155MM (HC) Hexachloroethane Smoke Canister- 3.3 Moisture content. 3.3.1 Paper and paper products. The moisture content of the paper and paper products components of the igniter, electric match assembly at the loading station at the time

14、f loading shall not exceed 6.0 percent. 3.4 Functioning (Ambient temperature, 21 + 3OC, 70 2 50F, Hot 51.5 + 3oC, 125 + 50F, Cold -32 f 3OC, -25-+ 5OF). The assembly Shall functTon and comply wzth the following requirements after conditioning at specified temperature. 3.4.1 Performance. The igniter,

15、 electric match shall function with a soft ignition and burn for a duration of 19+5 seconds producing a high energy flame capable of igniting 2 155MM HC Smoke Canister . 3.4.2 Functioning time. The time from application of twenty-four (24) plus or minus (2) two (2) Volts Direct Current (VDC), with m

16、inimum ignition current of 3.0 milliwatt seconds/ohm, to initiation of the assembly shall not be greater than 0.20 seconds. 3.5 Environmental conditions. 3.5.1 Low temperature. The igniters, shall be capable of withstanding low temperature conditions as specified in 4.5.4.1 and shall meet the perfor

17、mance requirements when test fired as specified in 4.5.3. 3.5.2 Hiqh and ambient temperature. The igniters, shall be capable of withstanding high and ambient temperature conditions as specified in 4.5.4.2 and meeting the performance requirements when test fired as specified in 4.5.3. 3.5.3 Leak test

18、. The igniter shall not leak when tested as specified in 4.5.4.3. Leakage shall constitute a failure. 3.5.4 Leakage test. The igniters, when packaged, shall be capable of withstanding exposure to the leakage test as specified in 4.5.4.4 and meeting the performance requirements when test fired. 3 Pro

The electric match igniter shall comply with the a. The igniter shall not function during test. b. There shall be no powder leakage. c. The

20、 igniter components shall not separate during test. 3.6 First article inspection. This specification contains technical provisions for firstarticle inspection. Requirements for the submission of first article samples by the contractor shall be as specified in the contract. 3.7 WorkmanshiE. All parts

21、 and assemblies shall be fabricated and finished in a thorough, workmanlike manner. They shall be free of burrs, chips, sharp edges, cracks, crazes, porosity, warpage, burn marks, blisters, excess flash, scratches, dirt, grease and other defects and foreign matter which would affect appearance or se

22、rviceability. The cleaning method used shall not be injurious to any part nor shall the parts be contaminated by the cleaning agent. All required markings shall be neat, legible and sharply defined. All packing components shall be dry. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for inspectio

23、n and standard quality following requirements when tested as specified in 4.5.4.5. assurance provisions. Unless otherwise specified herein or in the contract, the provisions of MIL-A-48078 shall apply and are hereby made a part of this detail specification. 4.2 Classification of inspections. The fol

24、lowing types of inspection shall be conducted on this item: a. First Article Inspection b, Quality Conformance Inspection 4.3 First article inspection 4.3.1 Submission. The contractor shall submit a first article sample as designated by the Contracting Officer for evaluation in accordance with provi

25、sions of 4.3.2 and 4.3.3. Testing is described in the First Article

29、 and 4.4.3.1 Moisture Content (see Table II) - Major Defects Quality Conformance Inspection tables. TABLE II Star ter composition (see Dwg. 9390402) igniter composition (see Dwg. 93 90401) Paper and paper products (see 3.3.1) The Contractor shall provide adequate controls to insure that the material

30、s comply with the requirements. For verification, the con- tractor shall select and subject to test, one sample of each mater- ial from each eight (8) hours production. If a composite sample ex- ceeds the requirement, that quantity or sub-lot material represented by the sample shall not be used in l

31、oading and packing, the remain- ing unloaded and unpacked material shall not be used in production, and the loaded and packed simulators shall be rejected. Test shall be performed as specified in 4.5.2. 4.4.4 Inspection equipment. The inspection equipment required to perform the examinations and tes

32、ts prescribed herein is described in the Paragraph Reference/Inspection Method column in the tables starting with paragraph 4.4.2.1. The contractor shall submit for approval inspection equipment designs in accordance with the terms of the contract. See Section 6 of MIL-A-48078 and 6.3 herein. O 4.4.

33、5 Functioninq Test 4.4.5.1 Hot and ambient temperature. Beginning with the first lot produced and continuing until three (3) consecutive lots have complied with the acceptance criteria of 4.4.2.6, fifty (50) igniter assemblies shall be selected from each lot for test. The lot shall be rejected if fo

34、ur (4) or more major defects occur. After three (3) consecutive lots have met the acceptance criteria specified, thirty-two (32) igniters shall be selected from each lot for test. The lot shall be reject if three (3) or more major defects occur, and lot sampling shall revert to fifty (50) samples pe

35、r lot. 44.5.2 ,Cold temperature Beginning with the first lot produced and continuing until three (3) consecutive lots have complied with the acceptance criteria of 4.4.2.6, fifty (50) igniters assemblies shall be selected from each lot for test. The lot shall be rejected if six (6) or more major def

36、ects occur. After three (3) consecutive lots have met the acceptance criteria specified, thirty-two (32) igniters shall be selected from each lot for test. The lot shall be rejected if four (4) or more major defects occur, and lot sampling shall revert to fifty (50) samples per lot. 18 Provided by I

In place of normal sampling and inspections associated with the Classificati

38、on of Defects, and after a curing time for the parts has been approved (see Note 1) a sample of three (3) parts (as molded) from each cavity shall be fully inspected dimensionally to qualify a new or reworked cavity for use in production. Each molded part shall carry the individual cavity identifica

39、tion. As a control of each cavity during production, the above quantity of parts from each cavity shall be inspected for at least the defects listed in paragraphs 4.4.2.1, after continuous production of each 5,000 parts or at the end of each week, whichever occurs first. Of the three (3) samples, on

40、e (I) sample shall be the last part produced. If any defective parts are found during qualification of the cavity, the cavity producing the defective part will not be used in production. If any defective parts are found when inspection is performed for the control of the cavity, the cavity producing

41、 the defective part shall be removed from production. Further, that portion of production since the last control check shall be returned to the contractor or inspection for each separate type of defect according to MIL-STD-105, using an AQL of 0.40 percent for each major defect and ana AQL of 0.65 p

42、ercent for each minor defect. All cavities removed from production because of some fault, may, after reworking be returned to production providing they pass the qualification test above. The contractor may request a change of inspection frequency providing he presents objective evidence to the Contr

43、acting Officer to substantiate the request. Contractor design of gages and test equipment required to perform the inspections listed herein shall be submitted per 6.3 for approval prior to manufacture of equipment. The noted subparagraphs identify those items and minimum inspections subject to the r

44、equirements of this paragraph. NOTE 1: In establishing a curing time, dimensionally check ten (10) parts from each cavity at periodic intervals (e.g. every 30, 60, etc. mins.) until dimensional stability is attained. The curing time will be from the time the part comes out of the mold until dimensio

45、nal stability is attained. The inspection data used in determing the curing time shall be sent to ARE, Dover, New Jersey 07801, ATTN: AMSMC-QAT-M(D). If there is a change in material, or in the cycle time, or if a cavity is reworked, or a new cavity is used, a new curing time shall be established an

46、d approved. 4.5.2 Moisture content. 4.5.2.1 Starter composition. The method of determining the percentage of moisture in the starter composition shall be in accordance with MIL-P-223, heated until a constant weight is obtained for four (4) hrs. at 70W. Observation shall be made for compliance with t

The method of determining the percentage of moisture in the igniter composition shall be i

48、n accordance with MIL-P-223 except to be heated until constant weight is obtained for four (4) hrs. at 70+3OC. Observation shall be made for compliance with applicable-requirement. 4.5.2.3 Paper and paper products. The moisture content shall be determined in accordance with Method 102.1.1 of Standar

49、d . MIL-STD-1234 except that a ten (10) gram sample shall be used and the drying time shall. be for two (2) hours. 4.5.3 Functioninq. (Ambient temperature, 21 2 3oC, 70 2 50F, Hot, 51.5 + 3oC, 125 + 50F, Cold, -32 + 3oC, -25 2 50F) . The isniter assemblies shall be conditioned for 12 hours min: at the specified temperatures and fired within 5 minutes after removal from the conditioning chambe
