REQUIRENENTS 3.1 Fabrication.- The mount shall be manufactured in accordance with Drawing F8587295

7、 and drawings pertaining thereto. 3.2 General specification.- The contractor shall be responsible for adherence to the following requirements of MIL-F-13926: (a) Order of precedence (b) Dimensions and tolerances (c) Inorganic protective surface finishes (d) Part identification and marking (f) Workma

8、nship * (e) Electrical 3.3 Environmental. 3.3.1 Operating temperature.- The mount shall meet the applicable requirements of 3.4.3 to 3.4.6.1 inclusive while exposed and thermally stabilized at ambient temperatures of 3.6O0Fahrenheit (F) to +90F. mount shall then meet the requirements of 3.4.5 at +15

9、0 and -40F, subsequent to which the mount shall meet the requirements of 3.3.2. The 3.3.2 Vibration.- The mount positioned and supported in its using position shall be vibrated at a constant frequency of 30 cycles per second with an amplitude of 1/16 inch (1/8 inch total excursion) for a period of 5

10、 minutes plus or minus 15 seconds. Subsequent to vibration, there shall be no evidence of damage or physical failure and the mount shall meet the requirements of 3.4. . 3.3.3 Sealing (counter box area).- The counter box area of the mount shall be capable of sustaining an interim pressure of 2.0 f .2

11、 psi for a period of 2 hours (minimum) without loss of pressure in excess of 0.2 psi. 3.3.4 Rain test.- The mount shall meet the requirements of Procedure I of the rain test of MIL-F-13926. 3.3.5 Purging.- The counter box area of the mount shall be purged with dry nitrogen supplied at a pressure of

12、2 f: .2 psi until the dew point of the emergent gas Is no higher than -25F. quickly and positively closed to minimize intermingling of extsrnal atmosphei upon disconnecting of purging equipment. (h) 3.4.2 Movement. 3.4.2.1 Elevation travel.- The mount shall travel through an ex

17、cursion of at least i333 mils in elevation and 89 mils in depression from the posi- tion established in 3.41 when the correction counter is set at zero. .- 3.4.2.2 Correction counter.- The correction counter shall travel through an excursion of plus and minus 9 mils. 3.4.2.3 Cross level travel.- The

18、 cross level knob shall move the mount through a minimum angle of 20 degrees to the right and 20 degrees to the left from the position established in 3.4.1. 3.4.3 Mount rigidity.- With the mount positioned as in 3.4.1, apply a 20 pound load at the right side of the telescope mounting flange in line

22、 full range of movement. 3.4.4.2 Elevation error.- Elevation error shall not exceed 0.5 mil excluding backlash as read in 200 mil increments between zero and 1200 mils. 3.4.4.3 Backlash. 3.4.4.3.1 Elevation mechanism.- Backlash in the elevation mechanism shall not exceed 0.5 mil. 3.4.4.3.2 Cross lev

23、el mechanism.- Backlash in the cross level mechanism shall not exceed 0.5 mil. 3.4.4.4 Correction counter.- The correction counter shall be checked at plus and minus readings of 2, 5 and 9 mils. quadrant seat shall correspond to the correction values within 0.2 mil when the elevation counter is rese

29、2.0 3.4.7 Electrical 3.4.7.1 . Illumination.- The bulbs for the level vials and counters when energized with 24 volts shall provide sufficient illumination for the level vial markings and counter numbers to be clearly defined when observed in a darkened- area. 3.4.7.2 Insulation resistance.- Insulat

30、ion resistance shall not be less than 10 megohms when subjected to a direct potential of 100 Vdc however, the temperature specified in 3.3.1 shall be tised, mount shall meet the performance requirements outlined in 3.3,l. When thermaL2y stabilized at the specified temperature, the 4.6.1.2 Sealing (c

31、ounter box area).- The counter box portion of the mount shall be pressurized internally to the psi value specified in 3.3.3 with dry nitrogen for the Length of time specified in 3.3.3. pressure, the munter box area shall meet the requirements specified in 3.4.2, -25F, or exceed the accuracies depict

32、ed on Drawing F8665556. While under Dry nitrogen used in this test shall have a dew point of at least Accuracy of the test equipment used on this test shall be equal to 4.6.1.3 Rain test.- Prior to performing the rain test outlined in Pro- cedure I of MIL-F-13926, each mount shall be inspected to as

33、sure conformance to the insulation resistance specified in 3.4.7.2, when tested as outlined in 4.6.2.16. After completing the insulation resistance test, the mount shall then be subjected to the rain test outlined in Procedure I of MIL-F-13926. After completion of the.rain test, objectionable water

34、penetration shall be determined by repeating the insulation resistance test outlined in 4.6.2.16, There shall be no change between this reading and the preliminary insulation resistance reading. 4.6.1.4 Purging.- The counter box area of the mount shall be flushed with dry nitrogen gas to conform to

35、the requirements of 3.3.4. tester. (standard shop type test equipment) shall be used to measure the nitro- gen dew point for conformance with 3.3.4. Purging to be performed at standard ambient temperature and prior to performing temperature test. nitrogen remaining within the counter box area to be

36、between .25 and .5 psi. A dew point Pressure of 4.6.2 Performance testing. 4.6.2.1 Orientation.- To assure proper orientation, the mount and test fixtures and targets shall be oriented within the limits outlined under set- up instructions specified on Drawing F11730831. 4.6.2.2 Vibration.- Remove th

37、e adapter (FlL730831) from the mount and remove the mount from the test fixture and without disturbing any of the knob settings, vibrate the mount in accordance with Test Procedure V of MIL-F-13926; however, the time duration, frequency and amplitude shall be as outlined in 3.3.2. After vibration, v

38、isually inspect the mount for damaged or broken components. Do not rotate the knobs. 4.6.2.3 Post vibration.- Reassemble the mount and adapter (F11730831) to the fixture and observe coincidence between tne optical line of sight and the intersecting point of the target representing the viewing telesc

39、opes optical axis. the mount to a level and cross level position as indicated by the level and cross level vials. Read the error, if any, from the target. 40、from IHS-,-,-4.6.2.4 Elevation travel.- With the mount and fixture positioned as outlined in 4.6.2.1, rotate the mounts elevation knob to reflect maximum elevation. Note the reading on the elevation counter. .Set this reading into Inspection Aid (Gunners Quadrant) A8658940. Position the inspection a

41、id on the quadrant seat assembly and by means of the fixture elevation handwheel, relevei. the inspection aid.“ Observe the elevation level bubble of the mount with respect to the quadrant level vial. level within the limits outlined in 3.4.2.1. .Repeat this procedure in the opposite direction, shal

42、l be measured by means of the quadrant, Both must indicate Any non-compatibility in level vial bubble position 4.6.2.5 Plumb travel.- With the mount and fixture set as outlined in 4.6.2.1, this test is made by sighting through viewing telescope F5549108 and observing coincidence between the telescop

43、es optical axis and the intersecting point of target centerlines while simultaneously rotating the mount in elevation and the test fixture an equal amount in the opposite direc- tion. The optical line of sight shall not deviate from the intersecting point by- more than the limits outlined in 3.4.4.1

44、 as measured by target mil blocks. During this total travel the cross level vial shall remain level within the limits of 3.4.4.1. 4.6.2.6 Elevation error and backlash.- With the fixture and mount positioned as outlined in 4,6.2.1, insert an elevation reading into the mount Use the elevation counter

45、as the recording mechanism. Insert this selected reading into the inspection aid and position the inspection aid on the quadrant seat assembly and by means of the fixture elevation handwheel releve1 the quadrant level vial, do not override this level position. Observe coincidence between both level

46、vial bubbles. Any non-compatibility between level vial bubble positions shall be measured by means of the quadrant: This difference, if any, shall not exceed the limits outlined in 3.4.4.2. Note this reading. Continue to rotate the elevation knob approximately one revolution beyond this-point of coi

47、ncidence. Return the knob to reposition the elevation level vial bubble to indicate level. Note the elevation counter reading. The difference, if any, in elevation reading is concidered backlash and must be within the limits outlined in 3.4.4.3.1. 4.6.2.7 Mount rigidity.- With the fixture positioned

48、 as outlined in 4.5.2.3, position the mount as specified in 3.4.1 with the level vial bubbles centered. Check rigidity by gradually applying and releasing the pressure specified in 3.4.3 at the top left side of the telescope support as specified in 3.4.3. Take the reading on the test target and reco

49、rd the movement. Repeat this procedure gradually applying and releasing the specified pressure at the top right side of the telescope support. Take the reading on the test target and record the movement. The total movement shall be within the allowable maximum deviation specified in Table I of 3.4.3. shall be followe as the simulated gun trunnion (cross leveling fixture) is moved from the “O“ position to the 1333 mil elevation position
