13、l take precedence. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Materials. Materials shall be in accordance with the applicable drawings, specifications and standards. 3.2 Assembly. The assembly shall comply with all requirements specified on Drawing (Dwg.) 9317994 and all associated drawings and with all requirements speci
14、fied in applicable specifications and standards. 3.3 Forty-foot drop test. The practice mine shall show-no evidence of broken, cracked, or loose parts which will render it unusable, after being dropped from a height of forty (40) feet (ft) as specified on Dwg. 9317994 and in 4.5.1. 3.3.1. Paint adhe
15、sion test. The painted practice mine tested 3.3.2. Salt spray test. The painted practice mine tested as in 4.5.2 shall show no removal of the coating by the adhesive tape. in 4.5.3 and examined immediately after removal from the salt spray test shall show no more than a trace of rusting (No. 9-1 Met
16、hod 6451 of FED-STD-141) and no more than five scattered blisters none larger than 1 mm in diameter. On removal of the paint there shall be no more than a trace of rusting, pitting,or corrosion of the steel. 3.4 First article inspection. This specification contains technical provisions for First Art
17、icle Inspection. Requirements for submission of First Article Samples by the contractor shall be as specified in the contract. 3.5 Workmanship. All parts and assemblies shall be fabricated and assembled in a thorough, workmanlike manner, and all manufacturing, processing, and assembling operations s
18、hall be correctly performed. All parts and assemblies shall be clean, free of burrs, sharp edges, cracks, dirt, grease, rust and other foreign matter that may impair proper functioning. Exterior surface coatings shall be continuous; however a few light scratches not exposing base material mpy be permitted. All required markings and
20、stampings shall be neat and sharply defined. Required packing shall be dry. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for inspection and standard quality assurance provisions. Unless otherwise specified herein or in the contract, the provisions of MIL-A-48078 shall apply and are hereby made
21、 a part of this detail specification. 4.2 Classification of inspections. The following types of inspection shall be conducted on this item. a. First article inspection (see 4.3). b. Quality conformance inspection (see 4.4) . 4.3 First article inspection. 4.3.1 Submission. The contractor shall. submi
22、t a first artic1e;sWple as designated by the contracting officer for evaluation in accordance with provisions of 4.3.2. Testing is described in the First Article and Quality Conformance Inspection Tables.
30、4.4.4 Inspection equipment. The inspection equipment required to perform the examinations and tests prescribed herein is described in the “Paragraph Reference/Inspection Method“ column in the tables starting with paragraph 4.4.2.1. The contractor shall submit for approval inspection equipment design
31、s in accordance with, the terms of the contract. See Section 6 of MIL-A-48078 and 6. herein. O 4.5 Methods of inspection. 4.5.1 Forty-foot drop test. A sample of eight (8) practice mines shall be randomly selected and subjected to the forty-foot drop test. Orientation of each end, for the ten drops
32、per end (20 drops total), shall be random. The angle of mine at impact shall be approximately 45O and the drop shall be made onto a 1 inch o steel plate. Observation shall be made for compliance with Dwg. 9317994 and the requirement of 3.3, 4.5.2 Paint adhesion test. This test shall be performed as
33、specified in TT-C-490B. 4.5.3 Salt spray test. This test shall be performed as 5. PACKAGING 5.1 Preservation and packaginq. 5.1.1 Level A. The Mine, Antitank, Practice: M79 is intended to be used to simulate the M74 and M75 Mines in loading and launching drills rom the M128 Mine Dispenser. 6.2 Orderinq data. See
