The periscope mount, hereinafter referred to as “mount”shall be manufactured in accordance with Drawing F11834833 and drawingspertaining
10、thereto.3.2 General specification. The contractor shall be responsible foradherence to, and compliance with, the requirements of MIL-F-13926 specifiedbelow:a. Order of precedenceb. The mount shall show no evidence of physicalfailure such as casting failure, adhesive failure, or deterioratio
12、n of Gasket10513302 due to storage at temperatures ranging from -80 to +160Fahrenheit (F). Subsequent to meeting this requirement, the mount shall becapable of meeting the requirements of 3.8.1.3.3.2 Extreme operating temperatures. The mount shall meet theapplicable requirements of 3.8.1 while expos
13、ed to and thermally stabilized attemperatures of -650 and +150F.3.3.3 Standard temperature. unless otherwise specified herein, the mountshall meet the following requirements while exposed to a temperature between+60 and +90F.3.4 Orientation. The requirements of 3.6, 3.7 and 3.8 shall be met withDatu
14、m Plane “A” in a horizontal plane within 2.0 degrees of arc and the shieldassembly and Mount Assembly 11834835 positioned as shown on DrawingF11834833. Unless otherwise specified, the shield shall be in the raisedposition.3.5 Vibration. The mount shall show no evidence of physical failure dueto bein
15、g vibrated successively along 3 mutually perpendicular axes. Vibrationshall be a simple harmonic motion, the frequency varying either linearly orlogarithmically from 5 to 55 to 5 cycles per second in 5 minute cycles for atotal of 15 minutes along each of the axes. The amplitude of vibration shallbe
16、maintained constant at 1/64 inch (1/32 inch total excursion). Followingthe vibration test, the mount shall meet the requirements of 3.7.3, and shallthen meet all of the following requirements.3.6 Sealing. The mount shall be capable of meeting this requirementwhile exposed to prolonged rainfall with
17、the shield in the raised position.Gasket 10513302 shall be capable of preventing water penetration below thecontact surfaces when the periscope head assembly is positioned in the mount.3.7 Periscope holding features.3.7.1 Insertion and removal. The mount shall permit insertion andremoval of the head
18、 assembly and body assembly of the periscope withoutrestriction.3.7.2 Periscope mounting repeatability. An original line of sight,through the periscope body assembly, shall not deviate more than 0.10 mil dueto repeated mounting of the body assembly to the mount.3.7.3 Rigidity (line of sight retentio
19、n). 20、. The requirements of 3.8.1 shall be met at thetemperatures specified in 3.3.2 and 3.3.3.3.8.1 Controls.3.8.1.1 Periscope locking lever. Lever Assembly 8589900, shown onDrawing F11834835, shall be manually operable through the range required tosecure and permit removal of the periscope body assembly
21、.3.8.1.2 Shield actuating handle. Handle 10542148 shall be manuallyoperable through the range required to raise and liner the shield to the fullyopen to the fully closed position.3.8.1.3 Handle locking latch. When Latch 10542138 is released while theshield is being raised, the handle shall lock the
22、shield in the fully openposition. When the latch is released while the shield is being lowered, thehandle shall lock the shield in the fully closed position.3.9 Circuitry. The circuitry of the mount shall have electricalcontinuity between its respective terminations and show no continuity betweenter
23、minations and mount.3.10 interchangeability.3.10.1 Interchangeability - mechanical. The mount shall be capable ofaccepting Head Assemblies 10542204 and 10558203 and Body Assemblies 11834841-2and 11834841-1.3.10.2 Interchangeability - pressure retention. With the head and bodyassemblies mated to the
24、mount, the mount shall withstand an internal pressureof 5 + 0.10 pounds per square inch gage (psig) for a minimum of 2 hourswithout loss of pressure in excess of 0.2 pounds (psig).4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS4.1 Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in thecontract or purchase
25、order, the supplier is responsible for the performance ofall inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwisespecified, the supplier may utilize his own facilities or any other facilitiessuitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein,unless disapproved b
26、y the Government. The component and subassembly inspectionrequirements of MIL-F-13926 form a part of the quality assurance provisions ofthis specification. Definitions of inspection terms shall be as listed inMIL-STD-109.4.2 First article (initial prod
28、uction) approval. The requirement forfirst article approval and the responsibility (Government or contractor) orfirst article testing shall be as specified in the contract. The sample forfirst article approval tests shall consist of 3 mounts plus 3 each of allitems covered by SQAP. The sample shall
29、be manufactured in the same manner,using the same materials, equipment, processes, and procedures as used inregular production. All parts and materials, including packaging and packing,shall be obtained from the same source of supply as used in regular production.4.2.1 Government testing. When the G
30、overnment is responsible forconducting first article approval tests, the contractor, prior to submittingthe sample to the Government, shall inspect the sample to insure that itconforms to all the requirements of the contract and submit a record of thisinspection with the sample, including certificat
31、es of conformance formaterials.4.2.2 Contractor testing. When the contractor is responsible forconducting first article approval tests, the sample shall be inspected by thecontractor for all the requirements of the contract. The sample and a recordof this inspection, including certificates of confor
32、mance for materials, shallbe submitted to the Government for approval. The Government reserves theright to witness the contractors inspection.4.3 Inspection provisions.4.3.1 Submission of product. Unless otherwise specified by thecontracting officer, inspection lot size, lot formation and presentati
33、onlots shall be in accordance with “Submission of Product” provisions ofMIL-STD-105.of4.3.2 Examination and tests.4.3.2.1 Components and subassemblies. All components and subassembliesshall be inspected in accordance with the inspection provisions contained inSupplementary Quality Assurance Provisio
34、ns (SQAP) listed in the technical datapackage (TDP). In the absence of SQAPS, the applicable Quality Assuranceprovisions of MIL-F-13926 shall apply. Examination, and tests related toSection 3 herein shall be performed on a single defect (individualcharacteristic) basis in accordance with MIL-STD-105
35、 and the sampling plansspecified in Tables I, II and III herein. Examination and tests forpackaging, packing, and marking shall be in accordance with MIL-P-14232 andSection 5 herein. The tabulated classification of defects in Tables I, II,III shall constitute the minimum inspection to be performed b

Except as otherwise provide
45、d for by thecontract, the contractor shall supply and maintain inspection equipment inaccordance with the applicable requirements of MIL-I-45607.4.5.1 Government furnished inspection equipment. Where the contractprovides for Government furnished inspection equipment, supply and maintenanceof test eq
46、uipment shall be in accordance with the applicable requirementsspecified in MIL-I-45607.4.5.2 Contractor furnished inspection equipment.4.5.2.1 Government design. Unless otherwise specified in the contract,all inspection equipment specified by drawing number in specifications orSQAPs forming a part
47、of the contract shall be supplied by the contractor inaccordance with technical data listed in the technical data package (TDP).4.5.2.2 Contractor design. The contractor shall design and supplyinspection equipment compatible with the “Test Methods and Procedures”specified in 4.6 of this specificatio
48、n and with the component inspectionprocedures specified in “Examination” and “Test Facilities” requirements ofMIL-F-13926. Since tolerance of test equipment is normally considered to bewithin 10% of the product tolerance for which it is intended, this inherenterror in the test equipment design must
49、be considered as part of theprescribed product tolerance limit.
