2、PE 1.1 Scope. This document covers the packaging and marking of textile webbing and tape for shipment and storage. 2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS 2.1 Government documents. * 2.1.1 Documents. Unless otherwise specified, the issues of the documents which are DOD adopted shall be those listed in the issue of the WDISS specified in the solicitation. Unless otherwis

In the event of a conflict between the text of this document and the references cited herein, the text of this document shall take precedence. Nothing in this document, however, shall supers

13、ede applicable laws and regulations unless a specific exemption has been obtained. 7 3. REQUIREMENTS e 3.1 Material. The materials shall be as specified herein. Materials not definitely specified shall be of the quality normally used by the manufacturer, provided the completed item complies with all

14、 the provisions of this document. 3.2 Put-up. The amount of webbing or tape and the allowable number of pieces in each roll or spool shall be as specified in the applicable webbing or tape dacument, contract, or purchase order (see 6.1). The webbing or tape on each roll or spool shall be wound with

15、sufficient tension to produce a firm and compact unit. The end of the webbing or tape shall be secured in such a manner as to prevent unwinding, loosening, or slipping during handling, shipping, and storage. 3.2.1 Identification ticket or label. Unless otherwise specified (see 6.11, each roll or spo

16、ol of webbing and tape shall have a ticket attached in such a manner that the ticket will remain with the webbing or tape until completely used. string doubled to not less than 6 inches in length. The ticket shall be made of not less than 15-point paper stock. The color shall be manila or white to p

17、ermit easy reading of printed, stamped, or typed markings. The ticket shall have clipped corners at one end. A reinforcing patch (with or without a metal eyelet) shall be firmly affixed to the ticket end that is clipped. The ticket shall be legibly printed, stamped, or typed with water insoluble bla

18、ck ink. Handwritten entries shall be prohibited. The ticket shall contain the following minimum information: The ticket shall be attached with no finer than 5-ply cotton Stock number Item description Length Specification number Contract number and date of manufacture Suppliers name Name of contracti

19、ng agency (month and year) 3 . Licensed by Information Handling ServicesMIL-P-4 3 3 34C When specified (see 6.1), each spool or unit pack of tape or webbing shall have an identification gummed label attached to the head end of the spool or to the outside end of the unit pack, as applicable, in place

20、 of the identification ticket. The color of the label shall be manila or white to permit easy reading of printed, stamped, or typed markings. The use of hand-written entries is prohibited. The label shall be legibly printed with water insoluble black ink. The legend shall be as specified herein. 3.3

21、 Preservation. Preservation shall be level A or Commercial, as specified (see 6. i). 3.3.1 Level A. * 3.3.1.1 Webbing. Unless otherwise specified herein, each.rol1 or spool of webbing, put-up and identified as specified in 3.2 and 3.2.1, shall be unit packed in a snug-fitting bag conforming to type

22、II or III, class B, style 1 or 2 of MIL-B-117 or a polyethylene bag. Polyethylene bags for single rolls or spools shall be made from 0.00125-inch thick (* 25 percent) clear film. When specified (see 6.1), multiple rolls or spools of webbing of the same description shall be unit packed in a snug-fitt

23、ing bag conforming to type I or II, class B, style 1 or 2 of MIL-B-117 or a polyethylene bag. Polyethylene bags for multiple rolls or spools shall be made from 0.0025-inch thick (* 20 percent) clear film. sealed seams that are straight, continuous, and parallel to each other and to the formed edges

24、of the bag. The bag may be fabricated from polyethylene film tubing or sheeting. The quantity of rolls or spools in the multiple unit pack shall not exceed 12 nor shall the total length of the unit pack exceed 12 inches. Closure of all bags shall be by heat sealing or double folding and sealing with

25、 minimum 1-inch wide tape conforming to PPP-T-60 or by mechanical. means (twist tie closure). Polyethylene bags for mildew-resistant treated webbing shall be perforated for ventilation. The polyethylene bag shall be formed with heat a 3.3.1.2 - Tape. Unless otherwise specified herein, multiple rolls

26、 or spools of tape of the same description, put-up and identified as specified in 3.2 and 3.2.1, shall be unit packed in a snug-fitting bag conforming to type II or III, class B, style 1 or 2 of MIL-B-117 or a polyethylene bag. Polyethylene bags shall be made from 0.00125-inch thick (I. 25 percent)

30、ommercial Rolls and spools of webbing and tape, put-up and identified as specified in 3.2 and 3.2.1, shall be preserved in accordance with ASTM D 3951. 3.4 Packing. Packing shall be level A, B, or Commerical, as specified (see 6-1)- 3 -4.1 Level A packing % 3.4.1.1 Webbing. Webbing of the same descr

31、iption, preserved as specified in 3.3, shall be packed in a snug-fitting shipping container conforming to style RSC-L, grade V2s of PPP-B-636; overseas type, style A, B, or I of PPP-B-601; or class 2, style 2 or 4 of PPP-B-621. Each PPP-B-636 shipping container shall be fitted with a box liner confo

32、rming to type CF, class weather-resistant, variety DW, grade V15c of PPP-B-636. Each shipping container packed with level A unit packs (see 3.3.1) will require no waterproofing packed with Commercial unit packs (see 3.3.2) shall be provided with a type I or II, grade B or C case liner conforming to

33、MIL-L-10547. Each shipping container confonn-fng to PPP-B-636 packed with Commercial unit packs shall be waterproofed with tape in accordance with the appendix of PPP-B-636. Each shipping container shall be closed and strapped in accordance with the appendix of the applicable container document. The

34、 weight of contents of each PPP-B-636 shipping container shall not exceed 65 pounds, and all others shall not exceed 150 pounds. Shipping containers shall be arranged in unit loads in accordance with MIL-L-35078 for the type and class specified (see 6.1). Strapping shall be limited to nonmetallic st

35、rapping except for type II, class P loads. Shipping containers shall be of a size that conforms to the requirements for palletization in accordance with MIL-STD-147; * 3.4.1.2 Tape. Tape of the same description, preserved as specified in 3.3, Each chipping container except those conforming to PPP-B-

36、636 shall be packed in a snug-fitting fiberboard shipping container conforming to style RSC-L, grade V2s of PPP-B-636. Each shipping container shall be fitted with a box liner conforming to type CF, class weather-resistant, variety DW, grade V15c of PPP-B-636. packs (see 3.3.1) will require no water

All other shipping containers shall be closed in accordance with the appendix of the applicable contai

42、ner document. Containers with weight of contents exceeding 100 pounds shall be reinforced with flat strapping in accordance with the appendix of the applicable container document. The weight of contents of PPP-B-636 containers shall not exceed 65 pounds, and all others shall not exceed 150 pounds. S

43、hipping containers shall be of a size that conforms to the requirements for palletization in accordance with MIL-STD-147. Each PPP-B-636 shipping container shall be e 8 3.4.2.2 Tape. Tape of the same description, preserved as specified in 3.3, shall be packed in a snug-fitting fiberboard shipping co

44、ntainer conforming to style RSC-L, type CF or SF, class domestic, variety SW, grade 275 of PPP-B-636. Each shipping container shall be fitted with a box liner conforming to type CF, class domestic, variety DW, grade 275 of PPP-B-636. Each shipping container shall be closed by method II in accordance

45、 with the appendix of PPP-B-636. The weight of the contents of each shipping container shall not exceed 65 pounds. Shipping containers shall be of a size that conforms to the requirements for palletization in accordance with MIL-STD-147. 3.4.2.3 Weather-resistant containers. When specified (see 6-1)

46、, fiberboard for containers conforming to PPP-B-636 and PPP-B-591 shall be made from material conforming to grade VC, V3s or V4s of PPP-F-320. fiberboard for containers shall conform to class 2 (weather resistant) material of PPP-B-640. Closure of fiberboard containers conforming to PPP-B-636 and PP

47、P-B-640 shall be in accordance with the weather resistance requirements of the appendix of the applicable container document. In addition to any special markings required by the- contract or purchase order, unit packs, shipping

49、containersj and palletized unit loads shall be marked in accordance with MIL-STD-129 or ASTM D 3951, as applicable. Identification tickets or labels as specified in 3.2.1 will suffice as the unit pack marking for clear polyethylene or plastic film . covered packages, provided the ticket or label is. positioned with the + 4 identification information visible. 8 3.6 Palletization. -When specified (see fj-l), -webbing and-tape of one description only, packed as specified in 3.4.2 and 3.4.3 shall be palletized on a 4-way entry pallet in accordance with load type Ia of MIL
