SCOPE - 1.1 This specification covers the parts .and the loading assembling and packing for one type of intiat

2、ing device designated as Primer, Stab, M56. 2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS 2.1 The following documents of the issue in effect on date of invitation for bids or request for proposal form a part of this speaification to the extent specified herein. A sample, in sufficient quntity to perform the test detailed in 4.5.1, shall be selected and tested as specified in 4.5.3 If the moisture content is in excess

8、of the percentage specified and loading has not begun, the batch or blend of batches of primer mixture shall be rejected. If loading has begun, action on the unloaded primer mixture shall be as specified above and all detonators loaded with the questionable primer mixture shall be rejected. 4.4,3.3

9、Functioning. 4.4.3.3.1 Output. - (see 3.4.1) - Major A defect. -A sample of 315 detonators shall be selected at random from each lot. If 3 or more detonators fail to comply with the requirement specified the lot shall be rejected. If one or two defects are found, a second sample of 315 shall be sele

10、cted at random and tested. If, in the combined first and second sample, a total of 4 or more defects are found the lot shall be rejected, The test shall be performed as specified in 4.5.2.1. A sample of 25 primers shall be selected at random from each lot. IT one or more primers fail to comply with

11、the require- ment specified the lot shall be rejected. The test shall be performed as specified in 4,5.2.2 using test equipment as specified in 4.4 4 and 4.5.2.2. (see dwg. 9298009) - Major A defect. - A sample of approximately one grkm shall be selected from each batch or blend of batches 4,4.3.3.2

14、on equipment required to perform the inspections and tests prescribed in this specification is identified in the Paragraph Reference/ Inspection Method column in the tables starting with para- graph 4.4.2.1, and the test method paragraphs (see 4.5). The contractor shall submit for approval, inspecti

15、on equipment designs in accordance with the terms of the contract. See Section 6 of MIL-A-48078, and section 6-2 hereSn. 4.5 Test methods and procedures. 4.5.1 Moisture content of the primer mixture. - The moisture content of the primer mixture shall be determined in accordance with MIL-STD-650, Met

16、hod 101.5 except that dryfng temperature shall be 60 plus or minus 5 degrees C. and only 0.40 to 0.70 grams of primer mixture shall be dried. 4.5 . 2 Functioning. 4,5.2.1 Output. - The primer shall be assembled to the applicable test equipment and a steel ball weighing a maximum of 3.95 ounces shall

17、 be dropped from a maximum height of 1 1/2 inches on the firing pin of the test set up. A primer that fails to fire or fails to fire with a high order report shall be classed defective. The method of inspection shall be in accordance with dwgs. 8816367, 8827828, 8827829, 8827934, 9202650, 920012 and

18、 9201952. 4.5.2.2 Waterproofness. - The primers shall be immersed under water to the required depth for the specified time. The primer shall be subgected to the functioning test specified in 4.5.2.1 within one hour after removal from water. Any primer which fails to fire or fails to create a hole in

19、 the lead disc of the required size shall be classed defective. 4.5.3 Determination of cornposition of primer mixture. 20、s, 4.5.3.1.1,l Solution Number 1. - To approximately 800 mi. distilled water, in a one liter amber glass bottle, 40.0 grams (gm.) of potassium thiocyanate shall be added. The bottle shall be sealed with a rubber stopper and the reagent bottle and contents shaken until the solid material is dissolved

21、. To this solution 1.0 gm. of lead thiocyanate, 1.0 gm. of antimony sulfide and 1.0 gm. of lead azide shall be added. The bottle shall again be stoppered and the reagent bottle and contents vigorously shaken for several minutes, and then allowed to stand overnight. Portions of the saturated solution

22、 shall be filtered before using. Solution Number 2 - To approximately 400 ml. of distilled wter, in a one-half liter amber glass reagent 1.0 gm. of lead thiocyanate, 1.0 gm. of antimony sulfide and 1.0 gm. of lead azide shall be added. The bottle shall be sealed with a rubber stopper and th reagentb

23、ottle and contents vigorously shaken for several minutes and then allowed .to stand overnight. Portions of the saturated solution shall be filtered before using. 4.5.3.1.1.2 4.5.3.1.2 Procedure. - A portion of approximately 1.0 . gm4 of the sample shall be accurately weighed directly into a tared 30

24、 ml. sintered glass crucible of medium porosity. From a burette 3.0 mi. of Solution Number 1 shall be added to the crucible. The solution shall be swirled for exactly one minute, taking care not to spill any liquid; aspirated .with suction and the bottom of the crucible wiped dry using tissue paper.

25、 The washing shall be continued, using one more 3.0 ml. portion, two 2.0 ml. and two 1.0 ml. portions, making a total of 12.0 ml. The crucible shall be removed and the bottom of the crucible, the funnel, the adapter and the suction flask washed with water. The test tube shall be placed in the flask

26、and the stem of the filtering funnel inserted into the test tube. b.e washed with one 1.0 ml. portion of Solution Number 1 as above, and aspirated with suction, catching the filtrate in the test tube. 28、be added and the crucible constantly swirled for one minute in order to dissolve all the ingredients of the powder except antimony sulfide. Care shall be taken not to spill any liquid. The mixture shall be filtered by applying suction employing a vacuum flask. The crucible shall be removed from the

29、adapter and the bottom wlped dry with tfssue paper. .The operations of wash- ing, using 5.0 ml. of one percent nitric acid each time and swirling,for exactly one minute shall be repeated. After a total of 40 ml. of one percent nitric acid has been used, the crucible shall be removed and the bottom o

30、f it washed with water. The funnel, the funnel adapter and the vacuum flask shall be washed with water; the filtrabe and washings shall be discarded. About 1 ml. of saturated solution of ferric ammonium sulfate shall be placed in the flask. The contents of the crucible shall be treated as before wit

31、h 5.0 ml. of one percent nitric acid and filtered by means of suction into the flask. If the liquid in the flask turns red, due to the Antimony sulfide, percent = 100A divided by B A = weight of residue in the crucible B = weight of sample .on a moisture-free basis 4,5.3.3 Lead thiocyahate. - The pe

32、rcentage of lead thiocyanate in the sample shall be calculated on a moisture- free basis by subtracting from 100 the swn of the percentages of potassium chlorate and antimony sulfide. 5.
