REQUIRFJVIENTS 3.1 Materials.-Mater

13、 0325507 7 M MIL-P-50202A (AR) 3.5.1 Maximum pressure at 130F.-The maximum,pressure developed by the Propellant Charge Assembly at 130F shall not exceed 12,000 pounds per square inch (p.s.i.) when fired in the applicable test equipment. 3.5.2 Action time at minus 40F.-The action time developed by th
14、e Propellant Charge Assembly at minus 40F shall not exceed - O. 052 second. 3.5.3 Total impulse at minus 40F.-The total impulse devel- oped by the Propellant Charge Assembly at minus 40F shall not be less than 900 pound seconds. 3.5.4 Ignition delay time at minus 40F.-The ignition delay time at minu
15、s 40F shall not exceed 0.025 second. 3.6 Propellant cha,rge, rocket.-Any gap or separation at the Molded Stud Assembly and Grain Propellant, Machined interface shall be completely sealed with specific inhibitor so as to pre- vent burning of the stick at this interface. technical provisions for first

17、ps, gouges, inhibitor solvent drippings, cracks, fissures, porous material and other defects which would make the item unsuitable for the intended use. 3.8.2 Workmanship-Parts and assemblies.-The parts and assem- blies shall be free from chips, dirt, grease and other foreign matter that may impair p
18、roper functioning. The cleaning method used shall not be injurious to any of the parts, nor shall the parts be contaminated. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for inspection and standard quality assurance provisions.-Unless otherwise specified herein or in the contract, the provisio

26、MIL-A-48078. In addition. inspection lots of Propellant Charge Assemblies shall contain: from one manufacturer. a. Propellant grains from not more than one lot number b. Inert parts from not more than one interfix lot number from one manufacturer. 4.4.2 Examination.-See MIL-A-48078. a. Sampling plan

33、ion equipment.-The inspection equipment re- quired to perform the examinations and tests prescribed herein is described in the ltParagraph Reference/Inspection Method“ column in the tables starting with paragraph 4.4.2.1. The contractor shall submit for approval inspection equipment designs in accor
34、d- ance with the terms of the contract. See Section 6 of MIL-A-48078 and 6.3 herein, 4.5 .-Test methods and procedures 4.5.1 Materials, components and processes.-Compliance with all requirements of section 3 of this specification shall be ascertained by current and continuing examination of inspecti
35、on and test data to determine that all components (parts, sub- assemblies and materials) have been inspected and tested and found to comply with their respective drawing and specification requirements, and that all specified manufacturing processes have been followed. 4.5.1.1 Visual and mechanical i
36、nspections.-The visual, manual and mechanical inspections and tests shall verify com- pliance with the requirements of sections 3 and 5 of this speci- fication in accordance with 4.4.2 herein and Table I. 4.5.2 Molded.stud assembly.-After production of 2000 Molded Stud Assemblies from each cavity of
37、 each mold, 5 stud assemblies per cavity per mold shall be consecutively produced and inspected for all drawing requirements. If any part fails to meet all drawing requirements, production shall be stopped and the mold corrected. During production, the molding proce- dures shall be monitored for uni
38、formity of molding practices. Suspected deviations in mold product shall be examined to deter- mine if corrective action or mold repair is required. 4.5.3 Radiograph examination for assembly gap or separation defects.-The samples of Rocket Propellant Charge selected shall be exaxined in accordance w
39、ith MIL-STD-453 procedure. The items shtill be X-rayed with the radiographic beam perpendicular to the lowitudinal axis of the Machined Propellant Grain. The radiograph shall be examined to determine if any Molded Stud Assembly is not fully seated on the Machined Propellant Grain shoulder. The penet

If any Rock
41、et Propellant Charge shows evidence of the Molded Stud Assembly not fully seated on the Machined Propellant Grain counterbore interface as per requirement, it shall be classed defective. Charge submitted as the First Article Samples, shall be radio- graphed in accordance with 4.5.3 and the radiograp
42、hs shall be submitf;ed %o $he Government for evaluation. 4.5.3.1 Radiographic evaluation.-The Rocket Propellant 4.5.4 Strength of rocket propellant charge.-The samples selected for this test shall be conditioned at 70 degrees F plus or minus 5 degrees F for (6) hours minimum. The Rocket Pro- pellant
43、 Charge shall be removed from the conditioning chamber and pulled to destruction within two (2) minutes after removal from the chamber. The test equipment shall be operated to exert a force at the rate of 2.5 inches per minute. If a failure occurs prior to attaining the specified strength requiremen
44、ts, the assembly shall be classed defective. 4.5.5 Static functioning test.-Propellant Charge Assembly, shall meet requirements for Maximum Pressure, Action Time, Total . Impulse and Ignition Delay Time. 4.5.5.1 One half of the samples selected for this test shall be assembled to the applicable test
45、 fixture and equipment and con- minimum of six (6) hours. The propellant charges shall be fired within five minutes after removal from the conditioning chamber and the Maximum Pressure shall be obtained, If any propellant charge fails to meet the requirements, it shall be classed defec- tive. dition
46、ed at plus 130 degrees F plus or minus 3 degrees F for a I 4.5.5.2 The other half of sample propellant charges shall be assembled to the applicable test fixture and equipment and conditioned at minus 40 degrees F plus or minus 3 degrees F for a minimum of six (6) hours. The propellant charges shall
47、be fired within five minutes after removal from the conditioning chamber , and the Action Time, Total Impulse and Ignition Delay Time shall be obtained. If any propellant charge fails to meet the require- ments, it shall be classed defective. 5. Packaging 5.1 Preservation and packaging 5.1.1 Level C
