REQUIREMENTS3.1 Material.-The PBHMX pellet
9、s shall conform to all therequirements specified on drawln P9209048 and the specificationsreferenced thereon.3.2 Composition.-The PBHMX pellets shall be homogeneous.The requirements for chemical composition of the PBHMX pelletsshall be as specified in MIL-P-50854 (MU) when determined asspecified In
10、4.4.1.3.3 Density.-The density of the pellets shall conform tothe requirement specified on drawing P9209048 when tested asspecified in 4.4.2.3.4 Moisture.-The moisture content shall conform to therequirement specified on drawin P9209048 when tested as specifiedin 4.Q.3.3.5 Moisture content of packag
11、ln material.-The mofsturecontent of the paperboard products (fiberboard boxes, separatorsand fillers) and wood products (sawdust) shall be 9.0 percent,maximum, when determined as specified In 4.4.4.3.6 Workmanship.-The pellets and packang material shall befree of dirt, grease and other forel$?n matt
12、er. The pellets shallbe firmly compacted, free of soft spots and powdery areas.3.7 First article testinK. -This specification makes provisionsfor first article testing. 13、Responsibility for inspection.-Unless otherwise sgecifledin the contract or purchase order, the supplier is responsiblefor the performance of all inspection reaulrenents as snecifieclherein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract or order,the supplier may use his own or any other facilities s
14、uitablefor the performance of the Inspection requirements specifiedherein, unless cllsapproved by the Government. The Governmentreserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forthin the specification where such inspections are deemed necessarYto assure suplies and services conform to pres

19、 the agents authority will not berequired with subsequent certificates unless, during the courseof the contract, this authority is vested in another agent of thecertifying organization.4.2 Firat Article Inspection4.2.1 Submission.-The contractor shall submit a firatarticle sample consisting of 10 PB
20、HMX pellets in accordance withinstructions issued by the Contracting Officer for evaluationin accordance with paragraph 4.2.2. All samples submitted shallhave been produced by the contractor using the same productionprocesses, procedures, and equipment as will be used in fulfillingthe contract. All
21、materials, including packaging and packing,shall be obtained from the same sources of SUPPIV as will beused in regular production. The sample shall”e-accompanied bycertificates of analysis. A first article quantity, or portionthereof, as directed by the Co:tracting Officer, shall also besubmitted wh
22、enever there is a lapse in production for a periodin excess of 90 days, or whenever a change occurs in manufacturingsupply as to significantly affect product uniformity aa determinedby the Government. Prior to submission, the contractor shallinspect the sample to the degree necessary to assure that
23、itconforms to the requirements of the contract and submit a recordof this insr.ection with the aamvle. A sample containing knowndefects wili not be submitted u;lesa specifically authorizedby the contracting officer.4.2.2 Inspections to be performed.-The sample will besubjected by the Government to a

25、to comply with anyof the applicable requirements, the first article quantity shallbe rejected. The Government reserves the right to terminateits inspection upon any failure of a siunple to comply with anyof the stated requirements.4.3 Inspection provisions4.3.1 Lot formation.-The term “lot” as used
26、throughoutthis specification refers to an inspection lot, which isdefined as an essentially homogeneous collection of units ofproduct from which a representative sample is drawn and inspectedto determine conformance of the lot with applicable requirements.The sample selected shall represent only tha
27、t quantity of unitsfrom which the sample was drawn and shall not be construed torepresent any prior or subsequent quantities presented forinspection. Each lot of PBHMX pellets shall be produced fromone lot of PBHMX powder produced in accordance with MIL-P-50854 (MU).The product shall be submitted fo
28、r inspection in accordance withMIL-STD-105 . The criteria and procedure for the assignment oflot numbers shall be in accordance with Standard MIL-STD-1168.4.3.2 Examination.-Sampling plans and procedures for thefollowing classifications of defects shall be in accordance withMIL-STD-105 (ABC-STD-105)
29、. Contractors sampling plans, if used,shall be approved by the Government and shall provide as aminimum, the protection afforded the Government by the samplingplans in MIL-STD-105. Continuous sampling plans in accordancewith MIL-STD-1235 may be used if approved by the procuringactivity. Also, at the

38、d retained as two separate individual samples. Thesetwo samplea shall be teated for the composition and moisturerequirement in accordance with the tests deicted in 4.4.1 and4.4.3. If either of these samples fail to comply with therequirements specified in 3.2 and 3.4 the lot of PBHMX pelletsshall be

If the total wei,r,htof either of thesamples described above (beginninpjor end) is less than 100 grams,then additional pellets shall be selected from the pelletizinoperation (beginninr and end) to obtain a minimum weiht of 100grams for each sample.4.3.3.1 Density .-A random sample of ten
40、(10) individualpellets shall be selected from the sample used in 4.3.2.1.
