12、. The projectile, clean and free from foreign matter, shall be filled with mol- ten WP at a temperature of 140“ k 10F. When water is in contact with the WP during the filling operation, the water used shall be buffered by a suitable alkaline salt to maintain a pH value between 6.5 and 8.0. The depth
13、 of water remaining on the surface of the WP in the filled and closed projectile shall not exceed 1/4 inch. After testing, the filling shall be solidified with the projectile in a nose-up position (see 6.2 and 6.3). 3.3 Assembly. Closing, coating, and marking of the projectile shall be in accordance
14、 with Drawing 8885263. 3.4 Filling height. There shall be a 2 to 7 percent void, by total volume, existing above the surface of the water over the WP in the filled and closed projectile. The projectile shall be radiographed in a vertical, nose-up or nose-down position while the temperature of the WP
15、 is 130“ k 10F when tested as specified in 4.2.6.2 (see 6.3). 3.5 Cleaning after closing. The exterior surface of the filled and closed projectile and the interior of the burster casing shall be thoroughly cleaned to remove any grease, oil, WP, or other foreign matter (see 6.4). No abrasive shall be
16、 used. 3.6 Leakage. The closed and cleaned projectile shall not leak when maintained at a temperature of 160“ k 5“F, for a period of 8 hours. Alternate method: the closed and cleaned projectile shall not leak when maintained at a temperature of 207“ to 212F for a minimum period of 15 minutes. The pr
17、ojectile shall be tested as specified in 4.2.6.1. 0 3.7 Workmanship. The projectile shall be free from internal and external contamina- tion (foreign matter) and damage such as dents, cracks, and deformation which could affect its intended use. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for
18、inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or pur- chase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection require- ments (examinations and tests) as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor may use his own
19、 or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in this specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to ensure suppl
20、ies and services conform to prescribed requirements. 4.1.1 Responsibility for compliance. All items shall meet all requirements of sections 3 and 5. The inspection set forth in this specification shall become a part of the contractors overall inspection system or quality program. The absence of any
21、inspection requirements in the specification shall not relieve the contractor of the responsibility of ensuring that all products or supplies submitted to the Government-for acceptance comply with all require- 3 Provided by IHSNot for ResaleNo reproduction or networking permitted without license fro

Prior to applying such alternative procedures, methods, or equipment, the contractor shall describe them in a written proposal submitted to the Governme

When required, the contractor shall demonstrate that the effectiveness of each proposed alterna- tive is equal to or better than the quality assurance provisions specified herein. In cases of dispute as to whether the contractors proposed alternative provid

All approved alternative inspection provisions shall be specifically incorporated into the contractors quality program or de- tailed inspection system, as applicable. 4.1.4 Objective evidence. The contractor shall provid
28、e objective evidence acceptable to the contracting officer that the requirements of 3.1 and section 5 for which specific inspec- tion has not been provided in this specification have been satisfied. 4.2 Quality conformance inspection. 4.2.1 Lotting. Each lot shall be identified and controlled in acc
