It shall include a description covering controls for lot formation and identification, inspections to be performed, inspection stations, Sam- pling procedures, meth
8、ods of inspection, (measuring and testing equipment), and provisions for control ancl disposition of nonconforming material. The written descrip- tion will be considered acceptable when, as a minimum, it provides the quality assurance provisions required by the provisions of 4.2 and 4.3 and the othe
9、r documents referenced herein. The contractor shall not be restricted to the inspection station or the method of inspection listed in this specification provided that an equivalen control is included in the approved quality assurance procedure. In cases of dispute as to whether certain pro- cedures
10、of contractors system provide equal assurance, the cornparabIo procedure of this specification shall apply. The contractor shall notify the Government of, ancl obhin ap- proval for, any changes to the written pro- cedure that efiects the degree o assurance required by this specification or other doc

15、erial. 4.2 Inspection provisioirs. 4.2.1 Lct fornation. A lot shall consist of one oi more batches of Quickmatch, produced by one manufacturer, in aceordance with the same specification, or same specification re- vision, under one continuous set o operating conditions. Each batch shall consist of th
16、at quantity of Quickmatch that has been sub- jected to the same unit cheinical or physical process intended to make the final product homogeneous. 4.2.2 Examination. Sampling plans and procedures for the following classifications of defects shall be in accordance with Standard MIL-STD-105 except tha
17、t inspection for critical defects, when listed, shall be 100 percent. Continuous sampling plans in ac- cordance with Standard MIL-STD-1235 may be used if approved by the procuring activity. Also, at the option of the procuring activity, AQLs and sampling plans may be applied to the individual charac

22、h shall be selected from the lot for this test. If any specimen fails to comply with ihe requirement, the lot shall be rejected. The test shall be performed as specified in 4.3.2. 4.2.3.2.2 After three consecutive lots have met the criteria of 4.2.3.2.1, twenty pieces of Quickmatch shall be selected

25、match shall be placed on a flat surface and the largest bow measured with a scale. 4.3.12 Rigidity. The piece of Quickmatch shall be supported at its center and the deflection measured. 4.3.2 Bzwning time. A sample 1.2 inches long shall be cut from each piece. The speci- men shall be placed 011 a fl
26、at open surface and ignited on one end. The burning time of each piece shall be determined ancl recorded. 4.3.3 Cotton wick. The test shall be pel- formed in accordance with the procedure specified in Test Method 4100, of Federal Xgecification CCC-T-191. 5. PREPARATION POR DELIVERY 5.1 Packaging. 5.
27、1.1 Level C. Unless otherwise specified, the Quickmatch shall be tied in bundles of 200 pieces each in such a manner that the straightness and rigidity of the pieces will be maintained. Each tied bundle shall be mapped with wateiyroof paper and sealed. 5.2 Packing. 5.2.1 Level C. Unless otherwise sp
28、ecified, the bundles of Quickmatch shall be packed in standard commercial containers so con- structed as to insure acceptance by common or other carrier for safe transportation to the point of delivery. 5.3 Marking. Each unit package shall be marked to indicate the item and quantity contained therei

30、Standard MILSTD-129. 6. NOTES 6.1 Intended use. The Quiclcmatch covered by this specification is intended for use in igniting flares and signal cartridges. 6.2 Ordering data. Procurement docu- ments should specify the following: (a) Title, number and date of the specification. (b) Type and class of
31、Quickmatch required (see 1.2). (c) Length of pieces of Quickmatch required (see 3.4). 6.3 Inspection code numbers. The five digit code numbers assigned to the inspection herein are to facilitate future data collection ancl analysis by the Government. 6.4 Impregnating mixture. The following has been
32、found satisfactory: A mixture of water and starch in the proportion of 2 quarts of water to 4 ounces of starch shall be boiled until a jell is formed. Six pounds of black powder is added to the mixture and stirred until the mass is thoroughly in- corporated. 6.4.1 Unmealecl. The strands of cotton ar
33、e thoroughly impregnated with the impreg- nating mixture and allowed to dry until rigid. 6.4.2 n/realed. The strands of cotton wick are thoroughly impregnated with the im- pregnating mixture, coated while wet with black powder and allowed to dry. 6.4.3 Dextrin in an amount not to exceed 1.5 percent- of the total weight of black powder may be added.
