16、o first article inspection (see 4.3, 6.2, and 6.4). 3.3 Material, 3.3.1 Cloth, laminated. The basic material for the ruff shall be cloth, laminated, water-proof and moisture-vapor permeable, conforming to MIL-C-44187. 3.3.2 Synthetic fur ruff strips. The synthetic fur for the ruff shall conform to M
17、IL-C-43824. 3.3.3 Fastener, tape, hook and loop. The nylon fastener tapes shall be 1 inch wide hook tape arid 2 inch wide hook and loop tapes, Olive Green 106 conforming to type II, class 1 of MIL-F-21840, 3.3.4 Snap fastener. The stud and post parts of the snap fastener shall be style 2A, finish 2,

19、, shade S-1, C.A. 66022 conforming to type I, class 1, subclass B of V-T-285. 3.3.6 Wire. - The wire for the edge of the ruff shall be bright, 0.080 2 0.003 inch diameter copper wire, dead soft, and shall not crack or break down when tested as specified in 4.4.1.1. 3.3.7 Labels, Each ruff shall have
20、 a class 4 identification and size label and a class 3 instruction label conforming to type VI of DDD-L-20. The label color shall be Medium Green, C.A. 70034, 70130, or 70131 and shall show fastness to laundering. 3.3.7.1 Identification and size label, The identification and size label shall first s
21、tate tne size and then read “Ruff, Parka, Extended Cold Weather“. 3.3.7.2 Instruction label. The instruction label shall be as follows: Launder ruff by hand, shake out water and air dry; or machine laurider, using warm water (900 - 1100F) and mild powdered laundry detergent. Rinse thoroughly in clea
22、n warm water. NOTE: Do not use bleach or starch. Air dry. WARNING: Do not tumble dry. 3.3.7.3 Combination label, The size and identification label and the instruction label may be combined into one label, conforming to class 14 of DDD-L-20. The size and identification label shall be placed above the
23、 instruction label with a space of 1/2 inch minimum maintained between the labels. 3.4 Design. The ruff shall be camouflage pattern with a natural white synthetic fur strip, a wire stiffener, snap fastener studs for attaching to the parka, and hook and loop fastener tape closures. 3.5 Patterns. Construction shall conform in all respects to the requirements specified in table II and herein. Figure 1 is furnished solely for e guidance and infor
27、mation. the document shall govern. Should variation from the document appear in figure 1 3.6.1 Stitches, seams, and stitching. All stitches, seams, and stitching shall conform to FED-STD-751. The seam type, stitching type, and stitches per inch shall be as specified in table II. Seam allowances shal
28、l be maintained with seams sewn so that no raw edges, run-Offs, pleats, puckers, or open seams occur. When two or more methods of seams or stitches are given for the same operation, any one may be used. 3.6.1.1 Type 301 stitching. Ends of all stitching shall be backstitched or overstitched not less
29、than 1/2 inch except where ends are tuined under or caught in other seams or stitching. Ends of a continuous line of stitching shall over- lap not less than 1/2 inch. will be no loose stitching resulting in loose bobbin or top thread or excess- ively tight stitching resulting in puckering of the mat
30、erials sewn. The lock shall be embedded in the materials sewn. Thread tensions shall be maintained so that there 3.6.1.1.1 Repairs of type 301 stitching. The ruff shall be manufactured in accordance with operation requirements specified in table II. The contra

The fini
40、shed ruff shall conform to the quality of product established by this document and the occurrence of defects shall not exceed the applicable acceptable quality levels. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the , contract or purchase.order, t
41、he contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor may use his own or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, u
42、nless otherwise disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in this document where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. 4.1.1 Responsibility for compliance. All items
43、 must meet all requirements of sections 3 and 5. The inspection set forth in this document shall become a part of the contractors overall inspection system or quality program. The absence of any inspection requirements in the document shall not relieve the contractor of the responsibility of assurin
44、g that all products or supplies submitted to the Government for acceptance comply with all requirements of the contract. Sampling in quality conformance does not authorize submission of known defective material, either indicated or actual, nor does it commit the Government to acceptance of defective
45、 material. 4.1.2 Responsibility for dimensional requirements. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for assuring that all specified dimensions have been met. examined on the end item, inspection shall be made at any point, or at all points in the
46、 manufacturing process necessary to assure compliance with all dimensional requirements. When certificates of compliance are su
47、b- mitted, the Government reserves the right to check test such items tri determine the validity of the certification. 4.2 Classification of inspection. The inspection requirements specified herein are classified as follows: a. First article inspection (see 4.3). b. Quality conformance inspection (s
48、ee 4.4). 4.3 First article inspection, When a first article is required (see 3.2), it shall be examined for the defects specified in 4.4.2. The presence of any defect shall be cause for rejection of the first article. 4.4 Quality conformance inspection. Unless otherwise specified, sampling for inspe
49、ction shall be in accordance with MIL-CTD-105. 4.4.1 Component and material inspection. In accordance with 4.1, components and materials shall be inspectedin accordance with all the requirements of referenced documents unless otherwise excluded, amended, modified, or qualified in this document or applicable purchase document. 4.4.1.1 Component and material certification, Unless ot
