REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Materials and construction. The storage racks shall conform to the materials and contruction requirements speci

Welding shall be as s
12、pecified on drawing 9392381 and MIL-STD-126%. Welding symbols shall be interpreted as specified in ANSI Y32.3. 3.2 Desiqn. The design of the storage rack shall conform to the design specified herein, on drawing 9392381 and in accordance with the applicable design provisions on MIL-W-13855, 3.2.1 Loc
13、king mechanism. 3.2.1.1 Functioninq. With the weapon placed in the rack the opening and closing action of the loeking mechanism shall function smoothly without snagging or binding and must be able to be smoothly locked with one padlock. 3.2.1.2 Open. With the locking mechanism unlocked and in the op
14、en position all weapons shall be easily inserted and withdrawn from the rack. 3,2.1.3 Locked position. With the locking mechanism closed and locked each weapon shall be secure in the rack. The weapon shall not: be able to be slid back Ear enough so that the sear assembly can be turned. The locked ra
15、ck shall be capable sf deterring forced entry with ordinary tools (crowbar, hammer, screwdriver, etc.). The security of the locking mechanism shall be maintained for any number of weapons less than four as well as a full rack of four weapons. 3.2.2 Rack envelope. 3.2.2.1 e. The weapon serial numbers
16、 shall be easily viewed when the weapons are in a fully loaded rack in the locked positionO enclosed within the -rack envelope. 3.2,2.2 Weapon protection. A% weapons shall be fully 3.2.2.3 Weapon. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for insp,ection and standard quality assuranc
19、e provisions. Unless otherwise specifie in the contract, the supplier is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract, the supplier may use his own or any facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection re
20、quirements specifed herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right ta perform any of the inspections set forth in the acceptance test plan where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. Reference shall
21、be made to MIL-STD-109 to define terms used herein. The provisions of MIL-W-13855 and MIL-W-63150 shall apply. 4.2 Classification of inspections. Unless. otherwise specified in the contract, the following types of inspection shall apply to this item: a. First article inspection (see 4.2.1). b. Quali
22、ty Conformance Inspection (see 4.3). 4.2.1 First article inspection. The first article sample shall be subjected to the quality conformance inspection as specified herein and such other inspection as necessary to determine that all requirements of the contract have been met. The first article sample
23、 shall be representative of the manufacturing methods and processes to be used for quantity production. The first article samples shall be submitted and inspected prior to the beginning of quantity production. 4.2.2 First article submission. 4.2.2.1 Submission. The contractor shall submit a first ar
24、ticle sample as designated by the contracting officer for evaluation in accordance with the provisions of 4.2.1. the applicable requirements, the first article sample shall be rejected. The goverment reserves the right to terminate its inspection upon any failure of a rack to comply with any of the
25、stated requirements. In event of rejection, the government reserves the right to require the contractor to take corrective action and submit a new first article quantity. Until the first article quantity is accepted, the contractor is not authorized to proceed with regular production unless otherwis
26、e directed by the contracting officer. 4.2.2.2 Rejection. 27、ection lot. Unless otherwise specified the formation, size and presentation of inspection lots shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-$05 and MIL-W-13855. 4.3.2 Examination. The examinations listed in Table I of this specification shall be performed on inspection lots as defined in 4.3.1 of this specif

Any rack in the sample containing one or more defect shall be rejected and if the number of defective racks in any sample exceeds the acceptance number of that sample the lot represented by the sample shall be rejected. / 4.4 Inspection equipment. The inspection equipment required to perfor
29、m the examinations and tests prescribed herein is described in the Paragraph Reference/Inspection Method Column in the tables starting with paragraph 4.3.3. The contractor shall submit for approval, inspection equipment designs in accordance with the terms of the contract. See Section 6 of MIL-A-480
30、78 and 6.3 herein.
