SCOPE 1.1 Scope.- This specification c

6、 be obtained from the procuring activity or as directed by the contracting officer.) 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 First article.- Unless otherwise sDecified (see 6.2) before production is commenced, a sample of the finished attach- ment shall be submitted or made available to the contracting officer or his a
7、uthorized representative for inspect ion and tests as specified in 4.2. The approval of the first article authorizes the commencement of production-but d-oes not relieve the contractor of responsibility for compliance with all applicable provisions of this specification. The first article shall be m
8、anufactured in the same facilities to be used for the manufacture of the product items. 3.2.1 Brass.- Brass for the header shall be sheet or strip conforming to QQ-B-613, annealed temper. I commercial, flat spring quality of .7 - .80 percent carbon (AISIC-1074). 3.3 Design.- The streamer set attachm
9、ent shall consist of a header and eighteen (18) swivel eye snaps- for type I and (15) swivel eye snaps for type II. The design for the type I header shall be as specified on drawing B-13-3. The design of the type II header shall be an exact replica of the design on the Govern- ment furnished hub (se

The contractors dies shall be tooled and polished to remove any dents, nicks, scratches
11、 or other imperfections and the unarnmented sections shall be smooth and polished. 3.4 Construction.- The construction of the streamer set attachment shall conform to the requirements specified herein and as shown on drawing B-13-3. The swivel eye spring snaps shall be attached to the header with th
12、e snap spring facing the center of the header, Except for the snap spring the snaps shall be fabricated from iron specified in 3.2.2. The snap spring shall be fabricated from spring steel specified in 3.2.3. The headers shall be made from brass specified in 3.2.1. 3.4.1 Stamping and trimming.- The h
13、eader shall be stamped in a manner to insure a well defined die struck edge and accurately trimmed to the die struck edge. All edges shall be clean, smooth and free from burrs, drag and step. 3.5 Finish.- 3.5.1 Header.- Headers shall be nickel plated. The plating thickness shall be a minimum of 0.00
14、025 inch thick. 3.5.2 Swivel eye spring snap.- The swivel eye spring snap shall be nickel plated with a minimum plating thickness of 0.00025 inch. 3.6 Marking.- In addition to any special marking required by the contract or order see (6.21, the manufacturer shall. stamp his identification mark incon
15、spicuously but legibly on the concave side of the header adjacent to the center hole. 3.7 Government loan property. Hubs for the type 11 header will be loaned by the government and shall be used for making the contractors dies necessary ?or one contract or order. There are no hubs for the type I hea
16、der. It sha? be fabricated in accordance with Drawing B-13-3. 3.8 Workmanship.- The streamer set attachment shall be clean, well made and shaI1 meet the acceptable quality levels established by this specification. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Inspection responsibility - Unless otherwise speci
17、fied in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set fo
19、rth in the specification where such inspect ions are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to the prescribed requirements. 4.2 First article inspection.- When a first article is required, inspection of the first article shall be made for all provisions of this specification applic
20、able to the end product examinat ion. 4.3 Sampling for inspection and acceptance.- Sampling for inspection and testing shall be in accordance with the provisions set forth in MIL-STD-105, except where otherwise indicated. 4.3.1 Component testing.- The quality assurance provisions for components and
21、materials, except as otherwise required by this specification, shall be in accordance with applicable specifications and standards referenced herein. When there is a conflict in quality assurance provisions, this specification shall govern. 4.3.2 Certification of compliance.- Components and material
22、s listed below may be accepted on the basis of a contractors certification of compliance for chartacteristics indicated. 31、ontainers.- Streamer set attachments packaged for shipment shall be examined to determine conformance with package markings and specified quantity. The sample unit for this examination shall be one box (interior package), Any box containing less than the specified or marked quantity of streamer set
32、attachments shall be classified as a defect. The inspection level shall be S-2 and the AQL shall be 4.0 defects per hundred units. The lot size shall be the number of intermediate containers. 4.3.5 Examination of preparation for delivery requirements.- An examination shall be made to determine that
33、applicable packaging, packing and marking requirements are complied with. Defects shall be scored in accordance with the list below. The sample unit shall be one shipping container fully prepared for delivery with the exception that it need not be sealed. Defects of closure listed below shall be exa
34、mined on shipping containers fully prepared for delivery. The lot size shall be the number of shipping containers in the end item inspection lot. PREPARATION FOR
37、DELIVERY _- 5.-1 PackagiLg.- Packaging shall be level A or C as specified (see 6.2). 5.1.1 Level A.- Each streamer set attachment, consisting of one header with fifteen, or eighteen swivel eye spring snaps attached, shall be placed irr a snug-fitting, transparent polyethylene bag. The polyethylene f
38、ilm shall be a minimum of 0.0015 inch thick. All seams shall be affected by heat sealing. Prior to or during the heat sealing closure operation excess air within the bag shall be expelled. Each prepackaged attachment shall then be packaged in a snug-fitting Set-up paperboard box conforming to variet
39、y 1, class A or B, style 1 of PPP-B-676. Closure shall be in accordance with the appendix of the box specification. 5.1.2 Level C. Each streamer set attachment shall be packaged to afford adequate protect ion against deterioration and damage from the supply source to the first receiving station. The
40、 supplier may use his standard practice when it meets these requirements. 5.2 Packing.- Packing shall be level A, B, or C as specified (see 6.2). 5.2.1 Level A.- Streamer set attachments packaged as specified in 5.1 shall be packed in a snug - fitting fiberboard box conforming to either class weathe
41、r resistant VS, V3c or V4s of PPP-B-636. Closure shall be in accordance with the appendix of the applicable box specification. The weight of the contents of each shipping container shall not exceed 65 lbs. 5.2.2 Level B.- Streamer set attachments packaged in 5.1, shall be packed in a snug-fitting fi
42、berboard box conforming to class Domestic, grade 275 of PPP-B-636. Closure shall be in accordance with appendix of the container specificat ion. The weight of the contents of each shipping container shall not exceed 65 lbs. 5.2.3. Level C.- The streamer set attachments shall be packed in a manner to
43、 insure carrier acceptance and safe delivery at destination at the lowest transportation rates for such supplies. Containers shall be in accordance with the rules and regulations of the carriers applicable to the mode of transportation. 5.3 Marking.- In addition to any special marking required by th

45、es.- Polyethylene bagged packages shall have the required information legibly printed or stamped in b.lack directly an the bag across the center face or on a white paper label inserted within the bag so as to permit ready identification. The white paper label shall contain the following informat ion
