This specification covers back-rip scarifier assem- blies for mounting on angledozer
2、s and bulldozers conforming to MIL-A-17076 and MIL-B-52449 respectively. 1.2 Classification. Scarifier assemblies shall be of the following types and sizes as specified: Type I - For straight-blade and semi- blade dozers covered in MIL-A-17076 and bulldozers covered in MIL-B-52449. Size 1 - For MIL-

The scarifier housing shall be installed on the test stand, all nuunting bolts and nuts shall be tightened, and the shank shall be mounted in the housing in accordance with figure 2 and table II
24、. A jack shall be installed with the center of the jack in line with the lower end of the shank bar as shown on figure 2. A deflection gage shall. be mounted on the frame of the test stand, and the stem shall contact the shank at the point shown in figure 2. The initial load shown in table II shall
25、be applied for mt less than 2 minutes for the size being tested for seating all parts. The initial load shown in table III shall be applied for not lese than 2 aiinutes for the eize bew tested for seating a

31、ure of this test. 4.6 Inspection of preparation for delivery. 4.6.1. Quality conformance inspection of pack. 4.6.1.1 Unit of product. Sampling for examination shall be in accord- ance with MIL-SPD-lO5. 4.6.1.3 Examination. Samples selected in accordance with 4.6.1.2 shall be examined for the following defec

Unpainted surfaces of the scarifier assemblies, includimnd nute, requiring the application of 8 contact preservative
35、 in accordance with MIL-P-116 shall be cleaned, dried, and coated with type P-1 preservative conforming to the applicable specification listed in MIL-P-ll6. Preservation shall be level A or C, as apeclfied. 5.1.2 Level C, The scarifier assemblies, including bolts and nuta shall be preserved to affor
36、d protection against deterioration from the supplier to the initial destination for inneedlate use. 5.2 PackInRe Paaking aha be level A, B, or C, 68 specified, 5.2,l Level A. The scarifier assemblies of like type and size ehall be packed in quantities of ttn, in close-fitting plywm boxes conforming
37、to PPP-B-601, style A or B, overseas type. The boxes shall be rodifled with skide in accordance with the box specification. 41、D-129. 6. B“E8 6.1 Intended use. The scarifiers are istended for use in ripping the ground by bullbozing-type vehicles during the time the vehicle is traveling in reverse or backing. The scarifiers can be used in all types of terrain encountered in mad construction and aimilar earth- iroving work. 6
