SCOPE 1.1 ScoDe. This specification co
2、vers the service ribbons and service ribbon bars used by the Department of Defense (see 6.1). 1.2 Classification. Service ribbons shall be of the following types as specified (see 6.2). 1.2.1 Service ribbons. Type I - Ribbon covered clip with back strip (single) Type II - Ribbon covered clip with ba
3、ck strip and bar (single) Type III - Sewn-on service ribbon 1.2.2 Bars, service ribbon. Service ribbon bars shall be the following sizes as specified (see 6.2). When specified in the contract or purchase order (see 6.2), a sample shall be subjected to first article inspection (see 6.3) in accordance with 4.
19、4. 3.2 Standard samDle. Unless otherwise specified (see 6.2), the contracting officer shall furnish a standard sample (see 6.4) of the completely fabricated service ribbon which shall be used for matching color and finish only. Variation from this specification may appear in the standard sample; how
20、ever, in such cases the specification shall govern. 3.3 Materials. Materials shall be as specified herein. 3.3.1 Copper base alloy. The copper base alloy shall be roll polished, free from pits, scale (including red oxide), dents, nicks, cracks, scratches, segregations and foreign inclusions that wil
21、l not be removed in later processing. 24、less than 18%. 3.3.2 Ribbon. The rayon ribbon for the service ribbons shall conform to MIL-R-11589 (see 6.2). 3.3.3 Buckram. The buckram for sewn-on ribbons shall conform to Type II, Class 2 of A-A-50186. 3.3.4 Hard Solder. Hard solder shall be a silver alloy solder having a melting point of not les
25、s than 1075 degrees Fahrenheit (561.7 degrees Celsius). 3.4 Construction. 3.4.1 Prona and clutch tvw. The prongs shall be made from nickel silver or hard drawn brasa specified in 3.3.1. The prongs and dimensions shall be as shown on Drawing B-13-12 (see Figure 2). The prongs shall be 5/16 inch howev
26、er, this does not authorize submission of known defective material, either indicated or actual, nor does it commit the Government to accept defective material. O 4.2 Classification of inspections. The inspection requirements specified herein are classified as follows: a. First article inspection (se
27、e 4.4). b. Quality conformance inspection (see 4.5). 4.3 Inspection conditions. Unless otherwise specified, all inspections shall be performed in accordance with the test conditions specified in 4.5 and 4.6. 4.4 First article sample inspection. Inspection and testing of the first article sample (see
28、 3.1) shall be made of a completely finished service ribbon bar, service ribbon or rayon ribbon or all provisions of this specification applicable to the end product examination and tests. 4.5 Quality conformance inspection. Inspection shall be in accordance with the provisions set forth in MIL-STD-
29、105, except where otherwise indicated (see 6.3). 4.5.1 InsDection of comDonents. 4.5.1.1 Testina of components. In addition to the quality assurance provisions O of the subsidiary specifications and drawings, inspection shall be performed on components and materials listed in Table II for the test c

The unit of product for the examinations in 4.5.4.1.1 and 4.5.4.1.2 shall be one completely finished service ribbon or service ribbon bar of each type or size, as applicable. O
