SCOPE 1.1 This specification covers one type of instrument known as Sight, Bore, Optical: M45El used for boresighting mortars. specification this instrument is referenced as “Bore

2、 Sight“. Telescope, Elbow Assembly 10548042-2 is an integral component of this bore sight. Throughout this 2, APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS 2.1 The following documents, of the issue in effect on date of invi- tation for bids or request for proposal, form a part of this specifica- tion to the extent specified

REQUIREMENTS - 3.1 Materials.- The materials shall be in accordance with the draw- ings, material specifications and gene

7、ral specifications forming a part of this specification. 3.2 Fabrication.- The bore sight shall be manufactured in accordance with Drawing F1054.8286. 3.3 General specifications. - The contractor shall be responsible for adherence to, and compliance with, the following requirements of MIL-F- 13926 :

8、 a. Order of precedence b. Dimensions and tolerances C. Inorganic protective surface finishes d. Part identification and marking e . Workmanship 3.4 Telescope, Elbow, Assembly 10548042-2.- The Elbow Telescope, which is a part of the bore sight, shall have met the requirements of MIL-T-46324 prior to

9、 assembly as a bore sight. 3.5 Orientation.- The bore sight shall be clamped securely in each of the three mounting positions shown in Figure 1 with the respective V slide contacting the longitudinal portion of a smooth 4.5 inch diameter tube or equivalent, whose axis is inclined 45 degrees above th

10、e horizont- al. The following conditions shall be met at each of the above specified positions unless otherwise specified. 36 Accuracy. 3.6.1 Collimation.- With the cross level vial bubble centered within 112 the spacewidth between two graduation lines, the line of sight Of the elbow telescope shall

11、 be parallel to the vertical plane passing through the axis of the corresponding V slide within 3 mils for positions (a) and (c) of Figure 1. 3.6.2 Pl3.mib travel.- With the cross level vial bubble centered with- in 112 the aphceiJidth between two graduation lines, and using position (a) of l?uce 1

12、in accordance with 3.5, with the line of sight of the el- bow telescope in a h6rizontal plane and in coincidence with a plumb line; the line of sght shall not deviate from the plumb line by more than 2.0 mils, (4.0 mils total displacement) from maximum depression to maximum e levat ion . 2 Provided

14、line of sight shall not deviate from the plumb line by more than 1.0 mil (2.0 mils total spread) when elevated 30 degrees above the horizontal. e 3.6.4 Elevation level vial.- With the cross level vial bubble cent- ered within 1/2 the space width between two graduation lines, the eleva- tion level vi

15、al bubble shall be centered within 1/2 the space width between two graduation lines. 3.7 Telescope travel.- With position (a) of Figure 1 established in accordance with 3.5, the telescope shall be capable-of being rotated a minimum of 45 degrees in elevation and 30 degrees in depression. 3.8 Operati

16、ng temperature.- The bore sight shall meet the torque re- quirements of 3.9 when thermally stabilized at ambient temperatures of minus 40 degrees Fahrenheit and plus 150 degrees Fahrenheit and the strap assembly shall be completely operable when securing and loosening the bore sight to the tube. 3.8

17、.1 Clamp screw.- The clamp screw, in a free state, shall be op- erable throughout its threaded portion without restriction or binding at all temperatures specified below. 3.9 Torque.- The torque required to elevate and depress the tele- scope through full travel shall not exceed 10 pound inches nor

18、be less than 2 pound inches at room temperature (60 to 90F). The torque requir- ed to elevate and depress the telescope through full travel. shall not ex- ceed 28 pound inches nor be less than 2 pound inches at the extreme temp- eratures specified in 3.8. 3.10 Strap assembly.- The bore sight or stra

19、p assembly shall not be- come loosened as a result of applying 2 pounds direct force at the knurled portion of the clamping screw, once in each opposing direction parallel to the tube axis, when the bore sight is positioned and secured as shown in (a) of Figure 1 with a torque of 2 f 1/4 pound inche

20、s applied to the clamp screw. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for inspectionr- Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the supplier is responsible for the per- formance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified, the sup

21、plier may utilize his own facilities or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection require- ments specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Govern- ment reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspectio

23、ssembly inspection requirement of MIL-F-13926 form a part of the Quality Assurance Provisions of this specification. in MIL-STD-109. Definitions of inspection terma shall be as listed 4.2 First article (initial production) approval.- The requirement for first article approval and the responsibility

24、(Government or contractor) for first article testing shall be as specified in the contract. le for first article approval tests shall consist of 3 bore sights plus 3 each of all items covered by SQAP. The sample shall be manufactured in the same materials, equipment, processes, and procedure6 as use

25、d in regul- ar production. shall be obtained from the same source of supply as used in regular pro- duct ion. 26、, prior to sub- mitting the sample to the Government, shall inspect the sample to insure that it conforms to all the requirements of the contract and submit a re- cord of this inspection with the sample, including certificates of confor- mance for materials. 4.2.2 Contractor testinK.- When the contr

27、actor is responsible for conducting first article approval tests, the sample shall be inspected by the contractor for all the requirements of the contract. and a record of this inspection, including certificates of conformance for materials, shall be submitted to the Goverment for approval, The Gove

28、rnment reserves the right to witness the contractors inspection. The sample c a zC.3 Inspection provisions. 4.3.1 Submission of product.- Unless otherwise specified by the con- tracting officer, inspection lot size, lot formation and presentation of lots shall be in accordance with “Submission of Pr

29、oduct“ provisions of MIL-STD-105 4.3.2 Examination and tests. 4.3.2.1 Components and subassemblies.- All components and subassem- blies shall be inspected in accordance with the inspection provisions contained in Supplementary Quality Assurance Provisions (SQAP) lited in th technicl ciara package (T

36、 inch outside diameter steel tube by means of the strap assembly and exposing it to temperatures indicated in 3.8 by means of a comercial cold chest and oven. stabilized at these temperatures, the torque requirement of 3.9 shall be made by means of a comercial spring scale attached to the end of the

37、 telescope housing. The operability of the strap assembly is then checked by releasing the clamp and moving the bore sight, and re-clamping at dif- ferent poeitions. 38、other end without binding or other restrictions at all temperatures herein specified. 4.6.9 Torque.- Torque test shall be made by means of a spring scale which can be hooked at one end of the telescope housing. is then moved through its full travel by pulling the scale and observing the indicator of
