2、by all Departments and Agencies of the Department of Defense. 1. SCOPE 1.1 Scope. This specification contains requirements not covered by the drawings and provides quality assurance provisions for the fabrication of parts for and loading, assembling and packing for one type of simulator designated a

12、Order of precedence. In the event of a conflict between the text of this specification and the references cited herein, the text of this specification shall take precedence. Nothing in this specification, however, shall supersede applicable laws and regulations unless specific exemption has been obt

13、ained, 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Materials. Materiais and parts shall be in accordance with 3.2 Assembly. The Simulator Assembly shall comply with all 9. applicable drawings, specifications and standards. requirements specified on Drawing 12576572 and all associated drawings, and with all requirements spe

14、cified in applicable specifications and standards. *% 3.3 Propellant. The propellant shall comply with all 3.3.1 Loaded rocket. Total area of cracks and voids on the requirements of MIL-P-70762 and all applicable drawings. o propellant surface shall not exceed 2 square inches. 3.3.1.1 Rocket propell

15、ant adhesion. Propellant shall exhibit no visual signs of separation from the tube wall. 3.4 Function. The simulator shall comply with the following requirements when fired using igniter assembly (dwg. 9390399), an electric match and twelve (12) volt power source, from an approved fixture capable of

16、 firing up to an angle of 30 degrees maximum (max) from the horizontal. a. The rocket range shall be a minimum of 1000 ft. 3.5 Environmental Conditions. -. - MIL-S-70792 13 = 9999906 0434699 8 MIL-S-70791 (AR) 3.5.1 Rocket assembly integrity test (Dwg. 12576571). The nose and tailcone shall not separate from the r

18、ocket tube and shall not exhibit any signs of bulging or displacement when tested as specified in 4.5.5. 3.5.1.1 Dimensional stability test. The rocket assembly shall exhibit dimensional stability (less than 2 percent variation) when tested as specified in 4.5.5.1. 3.5.2 Transportation vibration - t

19、emperature. The rocket 8 simulator (Dwg. 12576572) shall comply with the following requirements when tested as specified in 4.5.3. rl a. There shall be no loose propellant on the simulator or in the test box after testing. b. The rocket components shall not separate during test. c. The rocket shall

20、not function during test. 3.5.3 Five foot drop test. The loaded rocket (Dwg. 12576572) shall not function and shall remain fully operable when tested as specified in 4.5.4 and 4.5.2. 0 3.6 First article inspection. This specification contains technical provisions for first article inspection. Requir

21、ements for the submission of first article samples by the contractor shall be as specified in the contract. 3.7 Workmanship. All parts and assemblies shall be fabricated and finished in a thorough, workmanlike manner. They shall be free of burrs, chips, sharp edges, cracks, crazes, porosity, warpage

22、, burn marks, blisters, excess flash, scratches, dirt, grease and other defects and foreign matter which would affect appearance or serviceability, The cleaning method used shall not be injurious to any part nor shall the parts be contaminated by the cleaning agent. All required markings shall be ne

23、at, legible and sharply defined. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for inspection. Unless

24、otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor may utilize his own or any other facilities suitable for the pe

25、rformance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requir

26、ements. 4.1.1 Responsibility for compliance. All items must meet all a requirements of sections 3 and 5. The inspection set forth in this specification shall become a part of the contractors overall .- inspection system or quality program. % requirements in the specification shall not relieve the co

27、ntractor of the responsibility of assuring that all products or supplies submitted to the Government for acceptance comply with all requirements of the contract. Sampling in quality conformance does not authorize submission of known defective material, either indicated or actual nor does it commit t

29、contractor shall submit a first article sample as designated by the Contracting Officer for evaluation in accordance with provisions of 4.3.2 and 4.3.3. 41、d, ambient). Beginning with e the first lot produced and continuing until three (3) consecutive lots have complied with the acceptance criteria a total of eighty (80) simulator assemblies shall be selected from each lot for test in accordance with 4.5.2 (40 ambient, 20 hot, 20 cold). The lot shall b

42、e rejected if two (2) or more major functioning defects occur. After three (3) consecutive lots have met the acceptance criteria above, fifty (50) simulators shall be selected from each lot for test (30 ambient, 10 hot, 10 cold). The lot shall be rejected if one (1) or more major functioning defects

43、 occur, and lotsampling shall revert to eighty (80) samples per lot. 4.4.4 Inspection equipment. The inspection equipment required to perform the examinations and tests prescribed herein is described in the Paragraph Reference/Inspection Method column in the tables starting with paragraph 4.4.2.1. T

44、he contractor shall submit for approval inspection equipment designs in accordance with the terms of the contract. See Section 6 of MIL-A-48078 and 6.3 herein. 4.5 Methods of inspection. 4.5.1 Propellant. The propellant shall be tested in accordance with MIL-P-70762. Any lot failing any requirement

45、outlined in the specification and drawings shall be disqualified for use in production. 51.5+3OC (125+50F), cold, -32+3oC (-25+5OF). The simuTators shall be conditioned for 12-hours minimum at the specified temperature and fired within 10 minutes after removal from the conditioning chamber. The simu

46、lators shall be mounted in an approved firing fixture on a rigid support and fired by means of the specified power source and firing device at an angle of 27.50 + 2.50 quadrant elevation. Observation shall be made for compliance with the applicable requirements. Any rocket that fails to comply with

47、requirements shall be classified as a defect. NOTE: Rocket shall not be tested in wind conditions of 15 knots head wind or 15 knots crosswinds. 4.5.3 Transportation vibration - temperature. Simulator samples shall be tested according to Test 119 MIL-STD-331, Procedure I. Five (5) rockets shall be pr

48、e-conditioned at OF for two (2) hours max. prior to vibration and the other five (5) rockets at 1450F for two (2) hours max. prior to vibration. The vibration test duration at each temperature shall be six (6) hours (2 hours per axis). Simulators shall be functioned at ambient temperature in accordance with 4.5.2. (First Article Only) 4.5.2 Function test.
