When specified in the contract or purchase order,
27、a sample shall be subjected to first article inspection (see 4.3, 6.2, and 6.4). 3.2 Codes and standards. The tents shall comply with the applicable requirements of UL Standards for Fire and Casualty Hazards and NFPA National Electrical Code, as applicable (see 4.1.1.1.1 and 4.1.1.1.2). 3.3 Material
28、s and components. 3.3.1 Cloth, coated, cotton. The vinyl-coated cotton cloth shall conform to type II, class 1 of MIL-C-10799. The colors shall be Olive Drab 7 and light green (see 3.4.1). * 3.3.2 Tape, textile, cotton. The tape for the wrench containers and for the ties shall be dyed Olive Drab 7 a

The thread shall conform to type I, class 1, subclass B, shade S-1 (CA 66022) of V-T-285. The dyed thr
32、ead shall show fastness to weathering equal to or better than the standard shade sample (see 6.3). When no standard shade sample is available, the dyed thread shall show good fastness to weathering. Thread sizes shall be as follows: a. For all stitching except stitching indicated by “Z“ on drawings
33、- size FF for needle and bobbin b. For stitching indicated by “Z“ on drawings - size FF for needle, size F for looper 3.3.5 Lines, tent. The tent lines shall conform to type V (for tent line lug) and type XXIV (for guy line) of MIL-L-1709. 3.3.6 Rope, polyester. The polyester rope, 314-inch circumfe
34、rence, shall conform to MIL-R-30500. 3.3.7 Insulation. The insulation material used between the top and bottom floor panels, in the roof and end blankets, including the doors in the end blankets, shall be composed of glass fibers firmly bonded with a thermosetting plastic resin into a resilient mat
35、structure 1 inch thick (4-314, -0 inch tolerance) (see 4.5.1.1) having a weight of 2.1 pounds f 10 percent per 24 square feet. The insulation shall be one continuous piece for each roof blanket and end section (i.e., piecing shall not be permitted). 3.3.7.1 Compressional recovery. The compressional
36、recovery of the material shall be not less than 90 percent when determined in accordance with 4.5.1.2. 3.3.8 Adhesive. The adhesive used in the fabrication of the tent shall conform to type I or type II of MMM-A-181. 3.3.9 Caulking compound. The caulking compound used as a weather seal shall be gray
37、 in color and shall conform to type I of TT-C-598. 3.3.10 Fabric, wire. The wire fabric shall conform to type II, 18 X 16 regular mesh of RR-W-365. 3.3.11 Plastic sheet. The transparent, uncolored plastic sheet for the window panes and transoms shall be made of cellulose acetate butyrate molding mat
38、erial meeting the requirements of L-P-349 for any type or class. The wood used to fabrica
39、te various parts of the tent shall be uniformly dried to a moisture content of 8 to 12 percent at time of fabrication when tested as specified in 4.5.2 and shall be free from shakes, checks, splits, or splintery surface. No more than two sound, tight knots up to 1/2 inch in diameter or not more than

All wooden parts of the window assemblies shall be fabricated from a species of wood, such as ponderosa or white pine, that will not be susceptible to splintering. 3.3.13 Plywood. The plywood shall be either exte
43、rior type, grade A-C, sanded two sides, in accordance with Product Standard PS 1, or hardwood, type I, grade 2-3, high or medium density face, regular sanded, according to Commercial Standard GS3S (see 2.2). 3.3.14 Grommets, metallic. The grommets shall conform to type III, class 3, size No. 4 and t
