SCOPE 1.1 Scope. This document covers a six-sided py
2、ramidal tent having the following dimensions. Length of side 8 feet 9 inches; eave height 5 feet; and height at peak 10 feet 6 inches. The tent is equipped with a liner, tent pins and poles and a cover. Both front and rear entrances are provided with a lacing flap arrangement to permit a vestibule a
3、ttachment or the erection of two tents in tandem. 2. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 First artic-e. When specified (see 6.2), a sample sha first article insp
25、ection (see 6.3) in accordance with 4.3. be subjected to 3.2 1. Materials and components shall be as specified herein and as specified in drawings (see 2.1.2). It is encouraged that recycled material be used when practical as long as it meets the requirements of this specification. 3.2.1 Cio-,. The
26、cloth for the tent body, tent peak caps, and vestibule body shall conform to MIL-C-44103. The color shall be Camouflage Green 483. 3.2.2 Cloth, duck, cotton. The cloth or all vestibule reinforcements, and tent reinforcements: A through H, peak reinforcements, roof top reinforcements, reinforcement b
27、ands, stove pipe opening reinforcements, inner ply of the cover ventilators shall conform to MIL-C-43627. The color of the cotton duck shall be Olive Drab 7. 3.2.3 Cloth, duck, coated. The cloth for the ground skirts of tents and vestibules shall conform to type I, class 3 of MIL-C-43285. The color
28、of the face and back shall be Camouflage Green 483. 3.2.4 Shield, stovepipe. The stovepipe shield shall conform to MIL-S-43002. 3.2.5 Screening,. The screening shall conform to type II, class 2 or type III, class 1 or 2 of L-S-125. 3.2.6 Tape, cotton. The tape shall be 1/2-inch9 3/4-inch, 1 inch, 1
29、1/2-inch, and 2-inch widths, Olive Drab 7 conforming to type I, class 4 of MIL-T-43566. 3.2.7 Webbing, cotton. The webbing shall be type IIb, class 4, 1-inch width and type III, class 4, 5/8-inch and 1-1/2 inch widths of MIL-W-530 and the color shall be Olive Drab 7. 3.2.8 -. Low elongation webbing
30、shall conform to type I of MIL-W-43638. 3.2.9 Thread, polyester. The thread shall conform to type I, class 1, subclass B of V-T-285 as indicated in table I. The thread for all stitching shall match Olive Drab S-1 (C.A. 66022). The dyed thread shall show fastness to weathering equal to or better than
31、 the standard shade sample (see 6.4). The corner eave tent lines shall conform to type LII, shade Yellow 24 of MIL-L-1709, except
34、 that the length shall be 15 feet 6 inches (see 6.4). 3.2.10.3 Lines, tent, natural, The natural color tent lines shall conform to type LIT (intermediate eave line), type LI11 (corner roof line), and type LIV (door and vestibule eave line) of MIL-L-1709, except that the lengths shall be 15 feet 6 in
35、ches, 24 feet, and 24 feet 6 inches, respectively. 3.2.10.4 Cord, polyester. Ventilator lines, beckets, and toggle loops shall be 1/8-inch diameter cord conforming to MIL-C-43256. 3.2.11 Drip cap stiffener, The drip cap stiffener shall be made of cord specified in 3.2.10.1. 3.2.12 Toggles. 3.2.12.1
36、Toggles, wood. The wood toggles shall be of the dimensions shown on Drawing 5-4-776. They shall be fabricat design and d from unif rmly dried, straight grained lumber, and shall contain not more than 15 percent moisture when tested as Specified in 4.4.1.1. Toggles shall be free from knots, shakes, c
37、hecks, splits, or splintery surface. 38、ogglec,. The metal toggles shall be of the design and dimensions shown on Drawing 5-4-774 and shall be fabricated from brass wire conforming to alloy No. 270, half-hard temper of QQ-W-321. The toggles shall be given a black chemical finish conforming to MIL-F-495. 3.2.13 -. The tent line slips shall
39、 conform to type II of MIL-S-1734. 3.2.14 L. The slide fasteners shall conform to size H, wire stirrup pull of V-F-106. Slide fastener chain shall be fabricated of brass or polyester coil. The slider for the brass chain shall be brass and the slider or the pclyester coil shall be die cast zinc alloy
40、. The slide fastener tape shall be dyed to match Olive Drab shade S (CA 66519) and be water repellent and mildew-resistant. (Tapes made of 100 percent polyester need not be tested for mildew resistance.) The color of the tape after treatment will be considered acceptable. The tape shall show good fa
41、stness to weathering. Alternatively, the slide fastener chain shall be polyester continuous monofilament in a ladder or coil type configuration. Color of the chain shall be Olive Drab or natural finish brass and the sliders shall be brass. 3.2.15 Rings, dee. The dee rings shall conform to class 1 or
42、 2, configuration K, l-iEch by 3/4-inch, or MIL-R-3390. 3.2.16 !. The tent rings shall conform to class 2 or 5, size 2 of MIL-R-2327. 3.2.17 weak.
