When specified, the contractor shall furnish first article units for first article inspection and approval (see 4.3 and 6.2). 3.2 Construct

In addition to the reauirements of this saecif ication. the reauirements of MIL-P-1
25、1268. iniluding the selection reqirement threin, shali apply (see 4.4). 3.3.1 Recycled, virgin and reclaimed materials. It is required that, to the maximum extent possible, recovered or reclaimed materials, in lieu of virgin materials, shall be used without jeopardizing the intended use of the manuf
26、actured item. 3.4 Finish. All surfaces of the AN/PPN-l9(V) requiring a protective coating shall be finished in accordance with MIL-F-14072 and the equipment drawings specified herein. (See 4.4). 3.5 Nameplate and marking. 3.5.1 General. Marking of AN/PPN-(V) shall be in accordance with MIL- M-13231
27、(sGFKKI). 3.5.2 Visibility. Whenever practicable, parts shall be so mounted that their identification marking will be readily visible with minimum disassembly of the equipment. 3.5.3 Nameplates. Each nomenclature item shall have a nameplate conforming to MIL-P-15024/b, Type H or B (see 4.4) B 3.5.4
28、Serial numbers. 29、ering. 3.6.1 Personnel hazards. Personnel hazards shall be kept to a minimum. The criter- shall be made applicable for tasks and efforts such as the selection of parts, the complete manufactuing and assembly process, and any product baseline configuration changes that may be implementea during the c
30、ourse of the contract. Verification that compliance with this requirement has been achieved shall be through a visual inspection (See 4. U). 3.6.2 Edge rounding exposed. Exposed edges and corners shall be rounded sufficiently to minimize laceration/puncture hazards, the design goal being a (12.7 mm)
31、 for corners. minimum-radius of 0.04 inch (I mm) for edges and a minimum of 0.5 inch 3.6.3 Radioactive materials. Radioactive materials shall not be used (e-g. luminous dials/markings, electron tubes, surge arrestors and lenses). 3.7 Interchangeability. 3.7.1 Mechanical interchangeability. Like unit
32、s, assemblies, subassemblies and replaceable parts shall be physically interchangeable without modification and shall conform to Requirement 7 of MIL-STD-454 (see 4.8). 3.7.2 # Like units, assemblies, subassemblies and replaceable parts shall be functionally interchangeable without modification anci
33、 shall conform to Requirement 7 of MIL-STO-454. Electrical adjustment may be macle at all maintenance levels as referenced in the manuals (see 4.8). 3.8 Dimensions and weights. The weight of receiver-transmitter shall not exceed 17.75 lbs (6. kg) excluding battery box. The dimensions of the receiver
34、-transmitter shall be 12.7% x 4075 x 8.68 inches (32.4cm x 12cm x 22cm) excluding protrusions and battery box. The weight of battery box, excluding batteries, shall not exceed 4.5 Iba (2.0kg). The dimensions of the battery box shall be 12.75 x 5.1 x 5.0 inches (32.4 cm x 13 cm x 12.7 cin) excluding
35、protrusions (see 4.7) e 3.9 Environmental stress screenin1 (ESS). The AN/PPN-l9(V) shall meet the perfmment-ified herein after subjection to vibration and electrical preconditioning test of 4.6. 3.10 Performance requireme The AN/PPN-l9(V) shall meet the performance requirements as specified in 3.2 a

The AN/PPN-i9(V), including battery box shall meet specified performance, without degradation, at altitudes up to and .ineluding 10,000 feet (3048m) above sea level, and shall withstand air transportation at altitudes up to 40,000 feet (12,19
38、2m) above sea level (see 4.0.1)* 3.11.2 High temperature. The AN/PPN-lg(V), including battery box shall be operable without deterioration damage or degradation in spec-ified performance at ambient air temperature as high as +125OF (51.67OC), plus the effect of solar radiation at a rate of 360 BTU/ft
39、z/hr. The AN/PPM-L!3(V) shall be permitted a one minute cool-down period before full operation -ia required. At the end of the one minute period, the AN/PPN-lg(V) shall provide full specified performance. The AN/PPN-lg(V), including battery box, shall be capable of withstanding without degradation o
40、f specified performance long periods of storage at temperature as high as +160QF (71. lOC) (see 4.10.2). 3.11.3 Low temperature. The AN/PPN-l9(V), including battery box, shall be operable without deterioration damage or degradation in specified performance at air temperature as low as -5OOF (-45.6OC
41、). The AN/PPN-19(V), including battery box, shall be capable of withstanding, without degradation of specified performance, long periods of storage at temperatures as IQW as -7OOF (-56.7%) (see 4.10.3). 3.11.3.i Warm-up time. The receivers, transinitters, power supply, and associated circuitry shall
42、 become fully stabilized within the system operational parameters specified herein in a time period not to exceed one minute under all operational service conditions specified herein, except below -1WC. An increased time shall be allowed for frequency stability in a linear manner from one minute at
43、-1OOC up to five minutes at -4IiOC. Stabilization time is measureti from the time of application of the specified system input voltages. 3.1.4 Humidity. The AN/PPN-lg(V), including battery box, shall be operable without degradation in specif led performance, and shall sustain no physical damage, dur
44、ing and after prolonged exposure to extreme humidity levels as encountered in tropical areas (see 4.10.4). 3.11.5 Salt fog. After the salt fog test of 4.10.5, the AN/PPN-l9(V), includ-ing battery box shall operate without degradation in specified performance and show no evidence of degradation, such
45、 as flaking, pitting, blistering, or loosening of finish or metal surface exfoliations. There shall also be no clogging or binding of moving mechanical parts. 3.11. Fungus. After the fungus test of 4.10.6, the AN/PPN-lg(V), Sncluding battery box, shall be visually examined. The AN/PPN-l9(V) shall sh

48、f unmixed material ingredients. In addition, the AN/PPN-19(V) shall operate without degradation in specified performance after exposure to the test conditions of 4.10.6. Materials used in the manufacture, fabrication, construction and treatment of the AN/PPN-l9(V) shall comply with Requirement O 4 O
49、f MIL-STD-454. 3.11.7 Rain. ThB AN/PPN-19(V), including battery box, shall be operable without degradation in specified performance, and shall sustain no physical damage, during period of heavy precipitation with intermittent wind. (See 4.10.7) 3.11.8 Immersion. The AN/PPN-l9(V) , including battery box, shall be immersion proof to a covering depth of 3 feet of water for a period of not less than 2 hours. 3.11.9 Wind. The AN/PPN-19(Vj, including bat
