The weave of the tape and webbing shall be as specified in 3.3.1.1 through 3.3.1.3. 3.3.1.1 Type I, For the 9/16, 1-1/8, and 1/2 inc
20、h widths of tape, the weave a shall be plain, 1 up and 1 dwn. weave,l up and 1 down or a 2 up and 2 down hgrringbone twill weave; with one reversal of twill in the center of the tape, The 1-1/4 inch tape shall be either plain 3.3.1.2 Type Ia. For the 3/8 inch and 1 inch widths of webbing, the weave
21、shall be a 2 up and 2 down herringbone twill with one reversal of twill in the center of the webbing. For the 9/16 inch webbing, the weave shall be plain 1 up and 1 down. The 1-5/8 inch webbing shall be-either plain weave, 1 up and 1 down or a 2 up and 2 down herringbone twill weave with one reversa
22、l of twill in the center of the webbing. 3.3.1.3 Type II, The weave for all widths shall be a tubular plain weave, 1 up, 1 down face and back, except that the 3/16 inch width shall have-transfer of filling from the face to the back in the center of the webbing. fi 3.4 Color. Unless otherwise specifi
23、ed (see 6.21, the color of the tape or webbing shall be the natural white of the finished yarn. 3.4.1 Marker thread. When specified (see 6.2), the tape or webbing shall contain 1 end of warp yarn dyed red to match cable No. 70180 and woven into the center of the face of the tape or webbing. The use
24、of solution dyed yarn is permissible. 3.4.2 Colorfastness. The dyed yarn woven into the center of the tape or webbing shall have a colorfastness rating of “good“ to water when tested as Specified in 4.4.3. 3.4.3 Colorfastness (type I, 1/2 inch). The dyed tape shall show good fastness to wet dry clea
25、ning and crocking, when tested as Specified in 4.4.3. 3.4.4 Matching. When a color other than natural white is specified, the color of the dyed tape shall match the standard sample when viewed under filtered tungsten lamps that approximate artificial daylight and that have a correlated color tempera
26、ture of 7500 + 200K, with illumination of 100 + 20 foot candles, and shall be a good match to-the standard sample under incandescent lamplight at 2300 2 200K. 3.5 Finish. The tape or webbing shall have a smooth and even finish. 3.5.1 Nonfibrous materials. The water-soluble and chloroform-soluble mat
27、erials of the tape or webbing shall not exceed 2.0 percent when tested as specified in 4.4.3. 3.5.2 PH. 29、l be allowed in each roll or spool, and no piece shall be less than 10 yards. 3.7 Fiber identification. The finished tape or webbing shall be labeled or ticketed for fiber content in accordance with the Textile Fiber Products Identification Act. * 3.8 Workmanship. The tape or webbing shall conform t
30、o the quality of product established by this specification and the occurrence of defects shall not exceed the applicable acceptable quality levels. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE i. 4.1 Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible f
31、or the performance of all inspection requirements (examinations and tests) as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor may use his own or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless
32、 disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in this specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to ensure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. f: 4.1.1 Responsibility for compliance. All items shall
33、meet all requirements of sections 3 and 5. become a part of the contractors overall inspection system or quality program. The absence of any inspection requirements in the specification shall not relieve the contractor of the responsibility of ensuring that all products or supplies submitted to the
34、Government for acceptance comply with all requirements of the contract. The inspection set forth in this specification shall 4.1.2 Certificates of compliance. When certificates of compliance are submitted, the Government reserves the right to inspect such items to determine the validity of the certi
35、fication. 4.2 Classification of inspections. The inspection requirements specified herein are classified as follows: a. b. First article inspection (see 4.3). When a first article is required (see 3.1 and 6.2) it shall be examined for the defects specified in 4.4.2 through 4.4.2.2.1 and tested for the characteristics specified in 4.4.3. * 4.4 Quality conformance inspection. Unless ot
37、herwise specified, sampling for inspection shall be performed in accordance with MIL-STD-105. * 4.4,1 Component and material inspection. In accordance with 4.1, components and materials shall be inspected in accordance with all the requirements of referenced documents unless otherwise excluded, amen
38、ded, modified, or qualified in this specification or applicable purchase document. 4.4.2 Yard-by-yard examination. The required yardage of each roll or spool shall be inspected on both sides and visual defects classified in accordance with table II, All defects found shall be counted regardless of t
39、heir proximity one to another, except where two or more defects represent a single local condition of the tape or webbing in which case only the more serious defect shall be counted. A continuous defect shall be counted as one defect for each warpwise yard or fraction thereof in which it occurs. The
40、 sample unit for this examination shall be 1 linear yard. The sample size shall be in accordance with inspection level II or MIL-STD-105. The acceptable quality level shall be 0.40 major and 1.5 total defects (major and minor combined) per 100 units (yards). The lot size shall be expressed in units
41、of 1 yard each. An approximate equal number of yards shall be examined from each roll or spool selected.
