32、round and on a level with the welding machine and at a distance of three to six feet therefrom. The welding wchine shall be tested at any convenient room temperature above 1003. (500F.). The temperature rise for the specified components (see table II) of the welding machine shall be considered in- d

33、ependent of ambient temperature between 1OOC. (500C. ) and 5003. (1220F.). 4.4.6.2 Csdes.- The welding machine shall be run at rated output of 300 amperes at 40 load volts against a resistance load applied for four hours in ten minutes cycles of continuous load for six minutes followed by four minut

36、ters, imbedded detectors or therocouples, or resistance methods. 4.4.7 Short circuit and recoverv tests.- Current-time relationships for these tests shall be determined by means of oscillograms. with open circuit, the welding terminals shall be short circuited by means of .a contactor with blow-out

37、coil. steady, open the short circuit through a resistive load which will give rated current for the setting. The peak short circuit current shall also be determined when starting from normal load conditions, The time of re- covery shall be the time elapsed from the opening of the short circuit . unt
