This specification covers commercialmiscellaneous drycleaning finishing equipment which can be safely used in nonhazardous locations only (see 6.1). 1.2 Classification. The miscellaneous drycleaning finishing

Acceptable evidence of meeting requirements of NFPA shall be the manufacturers certi
27、fied statement that the drycleaning finishing equip- ment is wired in accordance with NFPA No. 70, when applicable. 3.4.2 UL. Acceptable evidence of meeting requirements of UL shall be the UL label or a UL listing mark or a certification from an independent testing laboratory acceptable to the contr
28、acting officer or hfs authorized representative that the wiring, fittings, and conduit conform to applicable UL standards, when applicable. 3.4.3 NEHA. Acceptable evidence of meeting the requirements of NEMA shall be the manufacturers certified statement that the motor controllers, switches, relays,
29、 time d.elays, and solenoids conform to performance requirements of NEMA ICs. A tag or label attached to these components stating they conform to this standard is acceptable evidence. 3.4.4 ASME. Acceptable evidence of meeting the requirements of ASME, when applicable, shall be the manufacturers cer
30、tified statement. that the chests, chambets and cylinders are in compliance with the ASME Standard for Unfired Pressure Vessels. 3.5 Materials and components. Materials and components shall be as specified herein (and on applicable drawings). Materials not definitely specified shall be of the qualit
31、y normally used by the manufacturer in the standard commercial items(s) provided that the completed items(s) comply with all provisions of this specification. 3.5.1 Corrosion-resistant metal. Corrosion-resistant metal used in the fabrication of the finishing equipment shall be corrosion-resisting st
32、eel conforming to the requirements of ASTM Al67-70 or Al76-71, as applicable; nickel-copper-alloy conforming to QQ-N-281 or composition A of QQ-N-288; or copper alloy castings conforming to alloy numbers el through G8 Of QQ-C-390. 3.5.2 Materials for fasteners. Threaded fasteners and rivets shall be
33、 of carbon or alloy steel, except where brass or corrosion-resistant metal is to be fastened, in which case they shall be of brass or corrosion-resistant metal respectively (see 3.5.1). Where dissimilar metals are fastened, bolts, rivets, screws, and nuts shall be of corrosion-resistant metal (see 3

Pipe, tube, fittings, and valves used for water, steam, and condensate lines shall comply with accepted plumbing
35、 practice. 3.5.4 Electrical conduit, fittings, and wire. Electrical conduit shall be rigid, electrical metallic tube or liquid-tight flexible conduit. electrical wire shall be stranded copper, heat-resistant grade, thermoplastic insulated. Solid (nonstranded) wire shall not be used. All 3.5.5 Motors
36、. Motors shall be drip proof for operation in a 40 Centigrade (C) ambient temperature. Motors shall conform to the require- ments of CC-M-636 or CC-M-641, as applicable, and to the following-require- ments : (a) All motors shall have windings impregnated to resist moisture. (b) Each motor of 1/8 hor
37、sepower rating or larger shall be provided with manually reset thermal-overload protection incorporated as a part of the motor or installed in the controller. (c) Motors shall be equipped with ball bearings, except that motors of 1/2 horsepower or less when used in a horizontal application may have
38、sleeve bearings. (d) Motor bearings shall be a permanently lubricated type or shall have adequate and accessible means for lubrication. 3.6 Design and construction. The drycleaning finishing equipment shall be designed for use fn a nonhazardous area. The completely assembled items when tested as spe
39、cified in 4.6.4 shall show that assembly of components has: (a) Complete and proper interrelationship. (b) No leaks, (c) (d) No overheating of parts (e.g., bearings). (e) (f) No structural failures. No undue vibration or noise. Starting and stopping devices operate smoothly and positively. 3.6.1 Wlr

Wiring shall be provided between motors, controllers, and switches installed on the equipment with materials specified in 3.5.4 as applicable. connections beyond the item of equipment. by a different color or shall be clearly labeled. showing any necessary connections required beyond the equipm

Assemblies of pipes, fittings, coils, cylinders, chests, and chambers using steam except for item 8 shall be designed for 100 pounds per square inch gage (psig) working pressure and shall be capable of withstanding a 200 psig hydrostatic pressure without leaks
43、 when tested as specified in 4.6.1. 3.6.3 Lubrication. Lubrication fittings for force-type systems shall be provided and accessibly located for lubricating bearings (see 3.5.5 (d) for motor -exception). 3.6.4 Current characteristics. The electrical parts of machines shall be designed for the voltage
44、, frequency, and number of phases specified (see 6.2). Operational and functional testing shall be performed at the voltage, frequency and number of phases specified. 3.6.5 Electromagnetic compatibility. When specified (see 6.2), equipment shall be designed and equipped for electromagnetic compatibi
45、lity in accord- ance with class IIB of MIL-STD-461 (see 4.6.7). 3.6.6 Finish. Unless otherwise specified (see 6.2), items of equipment shall be finished according to the manufacturers standard practice except emergency stop and nornial stop pushbuttons shall be red and this color shall be limited to
46、 pushbuttons. 3.6.7 Moisture and fungus-resistant treatment. When specified (see 6.2), electrical components of equipment covered by this specification shall be moisture and fungus-resistant treated with material conforming to and applied as specified in MIL-T-152. 3.6.8 Identification marking. For
47、military procurements, each end item shall be marked in accordance with MIL-STD-130. marking shall be in accordance with the manufacturers standard practice. For civil agency procurement, 3.7 Detail requirements. 3.7.1 Item 1 - air vacuum unit (for air vacuum presses). The vacuum system shall be the
48、 horizontal type (class i) or the vertical type, (class 2) as stated in 1.2. Each class 1 and 2 unit shall consist of an electric- motor-driven (see 3.5.5) multistage centrifugal-type exhauster and a condenser tank. The number of presses that the air vacuum unit is to service shall be as specified (
49、see 6.2). The exhauster shall be capable of maintaining a vacuum at sea level equivalent to 3/4-inch water column on 40 percent of the presses to be serviced and with these presses operating. shall be determine when tested as specified in 4.6.3.
