REQUIREMENTS 3.1 - Material. “- Materials for machine keys under this specification shall meet the requirements of 3.1.1 thru 3.1.3. The offeror/con
15、tractor is encouraged to use recovered materials in accordance with PUBLIC LAW 94 - 580 to the maximum extent practicable. 3.1.1 Corrosion-resistant steel. Corrosion-resistant steel-machine - “- keys shall be manufactured in accordance with ASTM A493 Type 410 (UNS S4 1000) or ASTM A582 Type 4 16 (UN
16、S S4 1600 1. The material shall have a minimum shear strength of 75,000 p.s.i. (see 3.3). 3.1.2 Alloy steel. An inspection lot shall consist of completed machine keys covered by this specification, produced under essentially the s.me conditions and offered for inspection at one time. 4.4.2 Rej
24、ected lots. If an inspection lot is rejected, the contractor may rework it to correct the defeats, or screen out the defective units, and resubmit for reinspection. Resubmitted lots shall be inspected using tightened inspection. Such lots shall be seperate from new lots, and shall be clearly identif
25、ied as reinspected lots. 4.4.3 Samplinq for visual and dimensional examination. Sampling shall be in accordance with Inspection Level II or MIL-STD-105 with an Acceptance Quality Level (W) of 2.5 percent defective for major defects. Minor defects shall be in accordance with Inspection Level II of MI
26、L-STD-105 with an AQL of 6.5 percent defective. 4.4.4 Samplinq for protective finish. Sampling for passivation shall be in accordance with the applicable specifications referenced in 3.3. 4.4.5 Inspection of packaqinq.
