SCOPE A
2、ND CLASSIFICATION 1.1 Scope. This specification covers new fiber drums for use in domestic shipment, normal overseas shipment, and military overseas shipment. 1.2 Classification. 1.2.1 Part number. Nothing in this specification, however, shall supersede applicable laws and regulations unless a specific exemption has been obtained, 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 First article. When specified in the contrac
28、t or purchase order, a sample shall be subjected to first article inspection (see 4.3, 6.2, and 6.4). 3.2 Materials, Materials not definitely specified shall be of the quality normally used by the manufacturer for fiber drums provided that the complete item complies with all provisions of this speci
29、fication. 3.2.1 Sheet steel. Unless otherwise specified (see 6.2), the mate
32、rials used to manufacture fiber drums shall contain a minimum of 5 percent reclaimed fibers from the sources described in 6.5. maximum percent is set provided the physical characteristics meet the specified requirements. The use of reclaimed fibers shall not constitute a waiver of the specification
33、requirements. Unless otherwise specified, no 3.2.3 Food and drug containers. All materials used in the manufacture of fiber drums intended for contact with food and drugs for human or animal consumption must conform to rules and regulations set forth in 21 CFR 100-199. 3.3 Construction of type 1 (se
