17、 The material shall conform to the composition limitsspecified in Table 2.6.2 If a product (check) analysis is performed by thepurchaser, the material shall conform to the product (check)analysis per Specification B 960.7. Mechanical Properties7.1 Mechanical PropertiesThe material shall conform toth

18、e mechanical properties specified in Table 3.8. Dimensions and Permissible Variations8.1 Thickness and Weight:8.1.1 PlateFor plate up to 2 in. (50.8 mm), inclusive, inthickness, the permissible variation under the specified thick-ness and permissible excess in overweight shall not exceed theamounts

19、prescribed in Specification B 906, Permissible Varia-tions in Thickness and Overweight of Rectangular Plates Table.8.1.1.1 For use with Specification B 906, Permissible Varia-tions in Thickness and Overweight of Rectangular Plates Table,plate shall be assumed to weigh 0.294 lb/in.3(8.138 g/cm3).8.1.

(50.8 mm) in thickness, thepermissible variations over the specified thickness shall notexceed the amounts prescribed in Specification B 906, Permis-sible Variations in Thickness for Rectangular Plates Over 2 in.(51 mm) in Thickness Table.8.1.3 Sheet and StripThe permissi

21、ble variations in thick-ness of sheet and strip shall be as prescribed in SpecificationB 906, Permissible Variations in Thickness of Sheet and StripTable. The thickness of strip and sheet shall be measured withthe micrometer spindle38 in. (9.5 mm) or more from eitheredge for material 1 in. (25.4 mm)

30、04 mm multiplied by the length incentimetres).8.4.2 Straightness for coiled material is subject to agree-ment between the manufacturer and the purchaser.8.5 Edges:8.5.1 When finished edges of strip are specified in thecontract or order, the following descriptions shall apply:8.5.1.1 Square-edge stri

31、p shall be supplied with finishededges, with sharp, square corners, without bevel or rounding.8.5.1.2 Round-edge strip shall be supplied with finishededges, semicircular in form, the diameter of the circle formingthe edge being equal to the strip thickness.8.5.1.3 When no description of any required
