Significance and Use3.1 This specification is prescriptive

Ordering Information4.1 Orders for anodes under this specification shall includethe following information:4.1.1 Grade (Section 5 and Table 1),4.1.2 Quantity (number of pieces), and4.1.3 Size, form, and shape as negotiated between purchaserand supplier.5. Chemical Comp
6、osition5.1 LimitsThe material shall conform to the chemicalcomposition requirements prescribed in Table 1.5.2 Sampling:5.2.1 Sufficient samples shall be taken by the manufacturerto ensure conformance to the chemical composition require-ments of the metal. Samples may be taken from the moltenmetal wh
7、en the cast anode or extrusion ingot is poured, or fromthe finished anode. Samples shall be representative of thematerial.5.2.2 In case of dispute, the sample for chemical analysisshall meet the requirements of Practice E55orE88.5.2.3 Method of AnalysisAny suitable method of chemi-cal analysis may b
8、e used. In case of dispute, the analysis shallbe made by methods given in Test Methods E35.6. Property Testing6.1 Sufficient samples may be taken for property testing asnegotiated between purchaser and supplier. Testing will bedone in compliance with Test Method G97.7. General Quality7.1 Magnesium c
9、ast and extruded anodes shall have a cleansurface and be commercially free of dirt, slag, or other foreignmaterial.8. Rejection8.1 Material that does not conform to the requirements ofthis specification may be rejected, and if rejected, the condi-tions of replacement shall be as agreed upon between
10、thepurchaser and the supplier.9. Packaging and Package Marking9.1 The material shall be packaged in such a manner as toprevent damage in ordinary handling and transportation. Thetype of packing and gross weight of the individual containershall be left to the discretion of the supplier, unless otherw
11、iseagreed upon between the purchaser and the supplier. Packingmethods and containers shall be so selected as to permitmaximum utility of mechanical equipment in unloading andsubsequent handling.9.2 Packages or containers shall be such as to ensureacceptance by common or other carriers for safe trans
