Materials and Manufacture6.1 Materials:6.1.1 The material of manufacture shall be a form of CopperAlloy UNS Nos. C49250 or C49260 of such purity andsoundness as to be suitable for processing
18、into the productsprescribed herein.6.1.2 In the event heat identification or traceability isrequired, the purchaser shall specify the details desired.NOTE 1Due to the discontinuous nature of the processing of castingsinto wrought products, it is not always practical to identify a specificcasting ana
19、lysis with a specific quantity of finished material.6.2 Manufacture:6.2.1 The product shall be manufactured by such hot work-ing, cold working, and annealing processes as to produce auniform wrought structure in the finished product.6.2.2 The product shall be hot or cold worked to the finishedsize,
20、and subsequently annealed when required, to meet thetemper properties specified.7. Chemical Composition7.1 The material shall conform to the chemical compositionrequirements in Table 1 for the UNS Number specified in theordering information.7.2 These composition limits do not preclude the presenceof
21、 other elements. Limits may be established and analysisrequired for unnamed elements by agreement between themanufacturer and the purchaser.7.3 For alloys in which zinc is listed as “remainder”, zinc isthe difference between the sum of results of all elementsdetermined and 100%. When all elements in
22、 Table 1 aredetermined, the sum of the results shall be 99.5% min.8. Temper8.1 The standard tempers for products described in thisspecification are given in Table 2.8.1.1 Rod (round, hexagonal, and octagonal), and bar shallbe furnished for general use in O60 temper for maximumformability, and H02 (h
23、alf-hard) for applications involvingmoderate cold forming.9. Mechanical Property Requirements9.1 The product shall conform to the tensile strength andelongation requirements of Tables 2 and 3 when tested inaccordance with Test Methods E8 and E8M.9.2 When specified in the contract or purchase order,
24、theyield strength shall be determined and conform with the yieldstrength requirements of Table 2 when tested in accordancewith Test Methods E8 and E8M.10. Workmanship, Finish, and Appearance11.1 The product shall be free of defects, but blemishes of anature that do not interfere with the intended application areacceptable.
37、12. Sampling12.1 Refer to sampling section in Specification B249/B249M for rod and bar, and Specification B250/B250M forwire.13. Number of Tests and Retests13.1 Test:13.1.1 Chemical AnalysisChemical composition shall bedetermined in accordance with the element mean of the resultsfrom at least two re
38、plicate analyses of the sample(s).13.2 Retest:13.2.1 When requested by the manufacturer or supplier, aretest shall be permitted when results of tests obtained by thepurchaser fail to conform to the requirements of the productspecification.13.2.2 The retest shall be as directed in the product speci-f
39、ication for the initial test, except the number of test specimensshall be twice that normally required for the specified test.13.2.3 All test specimens shall conform to the productspecification requirement(s) in retest. Failure to conform shallbe cause for rejection.14. Test Methods14.1 Chemical Ana
40、lysis:14.1.1 In cases of disagreement, the resolution of thedispute shall be subject to agreement between the manufactureror supplier and purchaser. Significance of Numbering Limits15.1 For the purpose of determining compliance with thespecified limits for requirements of the properties listed in thefollowing table and for dimensional tolerances, an observedvalue or a calculated value shall be

Inspection16.1 The manufacturer, or supplier, shall inspect and maketests necessary to verify the furnished product conforms tospecification requirements.16.2 Source inspection of the product by the purchaser maybe agreed upon between the manufacturer, or supplier, and thepurchas
46、er as part of the purchase order. In such case, the natureof the facilities needed to satisfy the inspector, representing thepurchaser, that the product is being furnished in accordancewith the specification shall be included in the agreement. Alltesting and inspection shall be conducted so as not t
47、o interfereunnecessarily with the operation of the works.16.3 When mutually agreed upon, the manufacturer, orsupplier, and the purchaser shall conduct the final inspectionsimultaneously.17. Rejection and Rehearing17.1 Rejection:17.1.1 Product that fails to conform to the specificationrequirements wh
48、en tested by the purchaser or purchasers agentshall be subject to rejection.17.1.2 Rejection shall be reported to the manufacturer orsupplier promptly. In addition, a written notification of rejec-tion shall follow.B974/B974M 10417.1.3 In case of dissatisfaction with results of the test uponwhich re
49、jection is based, the manufacturer, or supplier, shallhave the option to make claim for a rehearing.17.2 Rehearing:17.2.1 As a result of product rejection, the manufacturer, orsupplier, shall have the option to make claim for a retest to beconducted by the manufacturer, or supplier, and the purchaser.Samples of the rejected product shall be taken in accordancewith the product specification and subjected to test by bothparties using the test method(s) specified in the productspecification, or alternately, upon agreement of both parties, a
