12、o, what is E-Meeting Access? Well, quite simply, it enables you to conduct meetings either face-to-face or remotely using networked computers. Now, youre probably wondering “whats the point of using computers“? Well, the point is that unlike traditional meetings, everyone gets the chance to contribu
13、te because they communicate through the keyboard. This means people can communicate openly with no fear of criticism. And believe me, that can make a big, big difference. So what are the key advantages of E-Meeting Access? Well, first of all, there is simultaneous input, meaning that everyone “talks
14、“ at once although electronically, of course. This produces lots of contributions as the process draws on the creative energy of the whole team not just individuals. Also, because ideas are submitted anonymously, people are free to “think the unthinkable“. Now this may not sound like much, but belie
15、ve me, its a fantastic way of promoting innovation within your company. It also means that all ideas are the property of the team which is a great boost to team spirit. And each suggestion is evaluated on merit and not on feelings towards the person who came up with it. Imagine that. A meeting witho
16、ut any personal politics. With E-Meeting Access, ideas belong to the group. This means they are analysed objectively without personal feelings interfering with the way they are developed or rejected. Thus ideas are pro-cessed far more quickly than in traditional meetings. And with everyone getting i
17、nvolved at the same level, there is no domination of the proceedings by one or two strong characters. Whats more, because the meetings conducted on computers, everything is automatically recorded so theres no need for a secretary to take notes or minutes. But of course, the real beauty of the system
18、 is that you dont need to be in the same place or even the same country to hold the meeting! So, how does it work? Well, lets look at some of the key features of E-Meeting Access. First of all, theres the DrawingPad, which makes drawings produced during the meeting available to everyone else in the
19、group. Pen passing and free-for-all drawings are also supported. Next we have FileShare, with this function, the distribution of documents among the team couldnt be easier. Whether its a spreadsheet, report or graphic image, just drag it into the FileShare window and its accessible to the team. Thir

There are some good writing skills courses around, I believe. I feel a lot more confident now having done the course. The trainer gave us som
37、e really great tips on preparing more effectively. And I also got to see myself on video. There I was talking about our latest product when most of the time I was standing in front of the screen so no one in the audience could see my nice OHTs anyway. We certainly didnt have any complaints about the
38、 price even though it was pretty expensive. But I cant understand why they held it in Newcastle. It took me half the day to get there and I was exhausted before the course even started. We really should have found somewhere closer to the office. I had a great time. We did lots of role-plays, mainly
39、about delegating or dealing with interruptions, which I really enjoyed. And I think it must have done me some good. Even my boss has noticed that Im getting better at prioritising my workload. And this week I managed to get my report in before the deadline for a change. There must have been about tw
40、enty of us by the time all the late-comers had arrived; which was about right for the group dynamics. The only thing that Id change would be the refreshments. Youd have thought they could have provided more than just a salad for lunch, wouldnt you? It wasnt even particularly fresh either. Originally
41、, Id wanted to do the effective negotiations course. But my boss told me this course would be more useful. You know what Im like. Even when I dont want to do something, I end up saying yes. Even now I still find it difficult to say “no“, but at least this course has made me more confident about tryi
42、ng to stick up for myself. We covered a lot of stuff. But of course you cant expect the trainer to do everything in just six sessions, can you? So we had to miss some really interesting topics. I was a bit disappointed, for example, that we didnt do anything on body language. The programme itself lo
43、oked really interesting, which is why I went for this course rather than the assertiveness training one. And I guess we did have a few useful topics like writing minutes and preparing agendas. And we started looking at roles, especially the role of the chairperson. But all in all, it was really disa

She kept taking calls on her mobile during the sessions and I wouldnt be surprised if it was someone phoning her, to tell her what to do next! Good job it didnt cost too mu
