However, I strongly question this necessity to celebrate foreign festivals. On the one hand, the increasi

8、ng popularity of foreign festivals will weaken the influence of the traditional Chinese festivals. As a matter of fact, it has driven the traditional Chinese festivals into an awkward situation. Now, people have much less interest in the celebration of Mid-autumn Festival, Dragon Boat Festival, or e

9、ven the Spring Festival. The young knows very little about the traditions related to these festivals but to have meals and drinks on these occasions. In the long run, these traditional festivals, an important part of our cultural heritage, will fade away. On the other hand, craze for western festiva

10、l celebrations may drive Chinese culture into oblivion. Along with these foreign festivals come ideological and ethical values of foreign cultures. In face of the cultural invasion, chances are people will lose their cultural identity. Without cultural identification, a nation will lose its confiden

11、ce, its ability to protect national interest, or explore its own way of development. To sum up, its time to put a brake on this craze for foreign festival celebrations. Meanwhile, we should try our best to promote our cultural heritage, rediscover traditional cultural connotation and keep the indepe
